Born and raised on the 'old frontier' world, Theta VII, Hopper grew up on her parents' hydroponic farm estate. She also lived on Earth while attending a Masters program at UC Berkeley and, subsequently, Starfleet Academy in San Francisco where she earned her doctorate in Physics. Her first posting was aboard the the Oracle-Class deep space science vessel, USS Wall Street, where she served as a Science Officer and as Assistant Chief Science Officer before transferring to Amity Outpost in 2399.

Melissa Hopper Relationship: Birth Mother Age: 64 years Retired FDC Diplomat, Earth Born in Oregon, USA, on Earth, Melissa Hopper was drawn to space at a young age. She had an aptitude for languages, communication, and politics, and brought those strengths with her to the Federation Diplomatic Corps, in which she served for several years as a staffer before becoming an Envoy. Her placement was at the Federation Embassy on Alpha Centauri IV, also known as Velestus by the Centaurans. It was there that she met her future wife, Ansyra, who worked on interplanetary projects as a terraforming expert. Several years later, the two married and decided to seek out a quieter life - eventually settling on Theta VII, an old frontier mining and agricultural world, where they oversaw the operations of a large high-tech hydroponic farm estate. There, with some help from 24th century medicine, they also had their two children. Melissa carried Robin and Ansyra carried Kerilyn. The two have always joked about that fact that each sister seemed to take more after their non-birth mothers.

Ansyra Hopper Relationship: Mother Age: 89 years Retired Artist & Terraformer, Velestus Originally from Velestus (Alpha Centauri IV), Ansyra spent much of her younger days as a professional artist before discovering terraforming later in life, springing from her long-term hobby: gardening. Her work centered around consulting on balancing aesthetic and biological considerations in world-planning initiatives. This work eventually led her to the Federation Embassy, where she joined an interplanetary team of consultants based out of Velestus - a world known for its skilled terraformers. Eventually, she met Melissa Hopper, who worked as an Diplomatic Corps Envoy at the Embassy. The two would eventually marry and settle down together, choosing to move to the less-intense setting of Theta VII to start their family. Ansyra's private Centauran name is Kalitikne.

Kerilyn "Keri" Hopper Relationship: Sister Age: 22 years Politics Student (Tellar Prime University) & FDC Intern, Theta VII When Robin was six years old, her mothers decided they wanted to have a second child. At first outraged by their decision, Robin came around to it eventually - around the time Keri turned three. At that point, Robin decided she was cute enough to be accepted into the family. The two would feud again later, when Robin was in her teenage years, which Keri once described as "exceptionally stupid and awkward". Since then, the two have worked things out (mostly), with Robin attributing much of their improved relationship to the long time she's spent away from home while studying, citing the old adage that 'absence makes the heart grow fonder.' Keri is currently studying Politics and History at university on Tellar Prime. Keri's private Centauran name is Zoirana.

Robin Hopper† Relationship: Uncle Age: Deceased in 2367 at age 27 Security Officer, USS Saratoga Robin was named for her uncle, Robin, who died during the battle of Wolf 359 several years before she was born. As it is a relatively private matter of family history, and because she never knew him, Robin and her family don't talk much about him.

Phoenyra Keox Relationship: Grandmother Age: 149 years Scientist, Velestus Growing up, Robin always idolized her grandmother as a personal hero. While she didn't fully comprehend Phoenyra's work as a child, she did understand that her grandmother was some sort of scientist and was involved in biological studies and, subsequently, holographic technology development. Phoenyra lives on Velestus, where she is still affiliated with ongoing research into biological integrations with holographic environments at the Keox Conservatory - an institution named in honour of her accomplishments within the field. Phoenyra was part of the Centauran-led team that developed the modern Federation Holodeck in the mid-24th century, following up and improving on decades of work into the earlier "Rec Room" technologies, in order to recreate more immersive and lifelike simulated environments.

Nathan Richards Character Page Relationship: Dating, Close Friends Nickname(s): Nate, Lover Boy Starfleet Officer (Operations), Amity Outpost As in most great relationships, Robin and Nate first connected over coffee and legacy computer operating systems. Working together on the "franken-shuttle" Targhee project, the attraction between the two was immediate and it didn't take long before they tried their luck on a date - however, they quickly determined that their relationship goals were incompatible. Over the following year, the two of them agreed to cool things down and and remain friends. During that time of immense struggle, Robin still found Nathan to be an honest, reliable, and genuine friend - and the two of them would come to each others' aid repeatedly, both during missions and throughout their personal lives. Working and playing together, their commitment to remaining 'just friends' was tested over and over as they did their best to enjoy mutual distractions. Following a desperate kiss during a particularly harrowing experience in the Mirror Universe, Robin and Nate talked things over and decided to, once again, explore their mutual romantic interest more openly and are currently trying to keep their "situationship" on the down-low (with somewhat dubious success).

Ikaia Wong Character Page Relationship: Academy Buddies, Colleagues Starfleet Officer (Medical), Amity Outpost Despite their mutual disinterest in violence, Ikaia and Robin met buddying up during a Small Weapons Combat class at the Academy - at the recommendation of their mutual friend, Alieth. While they were never quite as close with each other as they were with their Vulcan compatriot, the two still enjoyed each others' company. Robin was thrilled when she learned that he too had been posted to Amity Outpost when her transfer was confirmed, and she made certain to visit him in the station's Medical Center shortly after her arrival. Since they've begun working together, the two have spent more time getting to know each other and they've become quite close.

Alieth Character Page Relationship: Academy Buddies Starfleet Officer (Science), USS Ronin Robin and Alieth could hardly be more different people - but that didn't stop them from becoming fast friends while attending Starfleet Academy together in San Francisco. While Alieth majored in Medicine and Robin in Physics, the two had numerous overlapping science-based classes. Rather than clashing, despite their apparent differences, they managed to find compliment and compromise, and Robin remains fond of Alieth to this day (though they haven't kept up contact as well as she'd like!)

Keehani Ukinix Character Page Relationship: Close Friends FDC Diplomat (Envoy), Amity Outpost Meeting after Robin's transfer to Amity Outpost, the two women at first had a pleasant, yet wholly-professional relationship - each respecting the others' enthusiasm and work ethic. Over time, it became apparent they shared a few common interests (including mystery literature) and the two decided to spend more time getting to know each other socially and found they had an easy chemistry. At first, Keehani was - unbeknownst to Robin - slightly smitten, but when it became clear that she wasn't Robin's type, she easily moved on from the notion and the two have continued to enjoy each others' platonic company.

Rivi Vataix Character Page Relationship: Commanding Officer & Friend FDC Ambassador, Amity Outpost While they may have met under unusual circumstances, the two have hit it off straight away and Robin looks forward to getting to know her CO better! After attending dinner at the Vataix residence, Robin was convinced to find an apartment in the Beijing District - a fortuitous turn of events. Not long after, both Rivi and Robin were the only two unaffected by a malicious alteration to the timeline and, from an alternate reality, were able to restore the timeline to its prior state.

Wil Ukinix Character Page Relationship: First Officer & Friend Starfleet Officer (Command), Amity OutpostThe two met and served together during a tense mission to Idrustix. A bit confused about the fact that there were two Wil Ukinix's aboard when she came to Amity, Robin nonetheless has found the man to be a solid and personable leader. She looks forward to getting to know him better and see what she can learn from him.

S'Raga Character Page Relationship: Colleague & Friend Starfleet Officer (Helm/Com/Ops), Away on Leave During a tense first mission (for Robin, her first aboard Amity) on Idrustix, Robin and S'Raga got to know one another and quickly developed a rapport. When S'Raga was injured, Robin came to his aid - stabilizing him until he was able to receive more attention post-mission. Later, S'Raga would help Robin find her apartment. Hopper thinks S'Raga is a sweet, lovely, and interesting person who she wants to continue spending her time with.

John Carter Character Page Relationship: Colleague & Friend Starfleet Officer (Counseling), Amity Outpost John is Robin's Counselor and the two of them hit it off during their first session (which Robin describes as more of a friendly 'chat'). While she doesn't know him well yet, they've discussed the possibility of meeting up for a workout and Robin intends to invite him to her eventual housewarming party.

Spending some time together in Peace Park, Robin was reminded of her sister, Keri - which she swear she means in the most complimentary way possible! She looks forward to getting to know the young Security Officer better.

Talos Dakora Character Page Relationship: Colleague & Romantic Interest Starfleet Officer (Intelligence), USS Artemis After meeting out-of-uniform in a civilian establishment on Amity and, subsequently, having an intimate rendezvous which neither of them anticipated going anywhere both Robin and Talos were surprised to find themselves working together on a special project for the Sixth House of Betazed. During this work, they determined that Talos was a Noble Son of the Sixth House by birth - and that they would stick with their original inclination and not continue to see one another. Robin may not know it, but this outcome left Talos unexpectedly shaken. Robin would subsequently be shaken when, during a mission into the alternate universe known colloquially as the "Mirror Universe", she learned that her alternate self (Raven Hopper) was, in fact, married to that universe's Talos (Talos Dakora - Mirror).

Kivik Character Page Relationship: Colleague Starfleet Officer (Science), USS Kitty Hawk Kivik, now the Chief Science Officer aboard the Kitty Hawk, was Robin's predecessor on Amity. The two of them worked together briefly during the transition period. The two Science Officers also served together during an ill-fated mission on Idrustix, during which Robin appreciated Kivik's cool head.

	Personal History

Early Life

Growing up on the “old frontier” world of Theta VII, Robin always felt like she had ‘the best of both worlds’ in her reach. New discoveries were still being made and visitors from exciting new civilizations still traveled through the ports of Theta with regularity – yet, as an established colony, they also boasted the developed infrastructure, technology, and resources that characterized life in The Federation.

Robin’s parents, a Human FDC representative and a Centauran terraforming consultant, had met on Velestus (Alpha Centauri IV), but opted to settle down on Theta VII - a world that neither of them called ‘home’, where they felt they could make a fresh start. There, they took over the management of a state-of-the-art hydroponic farming estate from its retiree owners.

This environment fostered Robin’s interest in Science from a young age – though she never dreamt of joining Starfleet or becoming a career scientist. Throughout her youth, Robin was certain she would become an artist. Her love of art and media (including modern holostories as well as vintage films and books) led her to undertaking an internship with Encrer Livre – an Earth-based publishing company – in her late teens.

It was during this internship that she first discovered her interest in holo-programming (and realized she had a knack for it). Exploring further, she quickly discovered an unexpected love for programming and computer science – finding the near-endless creative possibilities and practicability of the skill exciting. As she neared the end of her schooling, Robin realized she wanted to better understand the underlying principles that advanced computing and hologram technology were built on.

Education - University

To continue her studies, following her newly-developed interest in STEM subjects, Robin traveled to Earth for better educational prospects. While she found being far from home challenging for the first year, she quickly grew to appreciate the opportunities that studying - and living - on Earth afforded. She completed her Masters graduate studies at UC Berkeley, then went on to complete her PhD in Physics at Starfleet Academy in San Francisco.

During her time studying at Berkeley, Robin first experienced disco music and the band ABBA, which quickly became favourites of hers. This was also when she discovered her intolerance for the grain 'hops', as her first time trying beer led to a brief hospitalization. Hopper also played volleyball for her University team, and still has a UC Berkeley tank top, which she proudly wears during workouts.

Education - Starfleet Academy

After six years studying physics in California, it was hard to ignore the call of Starfleet. She applied for the Academy on a whim, submitting an application to complete her PhD studies that she never expected to be accepted. According to Hopper's own account, she submitted her Academy Application on a dare after drinking eight shots of tequila while celebrating the completion of her Master's thesis. Much to her surprise, she was accepted. As a Starfleet Cadet, she earned her doctorate in four years and was able to further expand her knowledge of programming through a few elective Engineering courses. This time at the Academy also allowed her to round out her Scientific knowledge, attaining a wider set of skills that would make her a formidable Science Officer upon graduation. As a result of her exceptional studies, Robin graduated Starfleet Academy with the rank of Lieutenant Junior Grade.

USS Wall Street (239704.28 - 239907.02)

Robin’s first posting was aboard the Oracle Class USS Wall Street under the command of Captain Sh'Torn. There, she learned quickly amidst a crew of dedicated scientific minds. Her outgoing personality and enthusiasm earned her a spot on the ship’s coveted ‘day shift’ where she would be able to work closely with the vessel’s Chief Science Officer, Trisha Montgomery. Initially splitting her time between Physics and Computer Science project, with Montgomery's guidance Hopper eventually achieved the rank of Lieutenant and took on a role as Assistant Chief Science Officer.

Given her background and ongoing work in Computer Science, Robin's work often overlapped with the Engineering and Operations divisions. Not only was this interdepartmental work crucial to her eventual move into the Assistant CSO role - offering her experience coordinating and working with a wider number of crewmembers - it is also how she met Ensign Egan Retel. The two worked on several projects together and eventually became romantically-involved.

When news of Amity Outpost’s establishment in the Delta Quadrant reached Robin’s ears, she felt immediately drawn to the distant and exciting deep space station. Already used to an extended mission far from home, the prospect of traveling months away from Federation space seemed totally worth it in exchange for an opportunity to work in such an advanced and resourced Science and Research Center – not to mention the chance to meet denizens of the Delta Quadrant. She had also long been intrigued by the story of Voyager, following it closely as a child, which only enhanced the draw of the new Outpost.

Excited at the prospect, and with Chief Science Officer Montgomery’s recommendation on her file, Robin requested a transfer to Amity Outpost in mid-2399 and decided to end her relationship with Retel, then a Lieutenant JG, as she didn't put much faith in long-distance relationships.

Amity Outpost (239907.26 - Present)

Once her transfer was approved, Robin spent her remaining time aboard the Wall Street tying up loose ends and finishing off projects, as well as training her replacement. She left many of her personal belongings behind, bringing only what she could fit in her duffel bag, a portal transporter buffer, and her prized Stromanthe Triostar plant. Arriving in late July, 2399, Robin quickly became acquainted with her new colleagues and received a briefing in the station's extensive Science and Research Center (or SRC) from Science Officer Lieutenant Kivik.

Kivik also requested Hopper's assistance in supporting an injured crewmember with a personal project; Nathan Richards was building a shuttle - later named the Targhee - from various component pieces and needed assistance getting the various parts' computer systems working together. The two became fast friends and, after initially admitting mutual attraction, went on one date before deciding that they were better off keeping things platonic. As of late 2400, however, the two had finally given in and decided to give dating a try.

Mission - Protocols (239909 - 239910)

The crew of Amity was assigned to support the efforts of several noble representatives from various Houses of Betazed in their joint effort to establish colony sites on the recently-discovered world, Idrustix. While aware that the planet was home to a uniquely-telepathic bacterium, none knew of the organisms' origins. Shortly after landing, the crew became trapped under a radioactive net which surrounded the planet. The Trenvonn announced their presence, and their intentions to purify the planet of their dangerous experimental bacteria by eradicating all life on the surface - including the unfortunate Starfleet Officers and Betazoid Nobles.

Robin, serving on a team with Wil Ukinix and Lohani Vananth-Polgonz, was forced to step outside her role as Science Officer - performing lifesaving combat medicine in order to halt the dangerous effects of a Trenvonn Drone and, later, engaging and destroying one such drone. Fortunately, Captain Rahman and the remaining staff and crew in orbit aboard the USS Kitty Hawk, were eventually able to work out a diplomatic solution with the Trenvonn before everyone on the surface were killed.

Mini Mission - Nostalgia (239912)

While the crew of Amity Outpost, along with several honoured guests, celebrated Wil Ukinix's successful completion of his Command Practical and subsequent promotion to Commander, a rogue Temporal Integrity Commission agent attempted to change the past - stranding Ukinix, Captain Rahman, and the other VIP guests, on a remote world from their past. Shielded by their proximity to the 'time bubble' effect - Rivi Vataix and Robin were the only two people aware of the sudden change to the timeline. As they put together the pieces of what happened, they were able to work with the crew of Amity Outpost to undo the TIC's meddling and restore the timeline to its proper order.

Mission - Worthy Prey (240001-240002)

Following an unprovoked attack on Ambassador Vataix in unmarked Hirogen hunting grounds by the traditionalist provocateur, Ravarj, Amity Outpost played host to several prominent Hirogen Tribes in an attempt to establish a revitalized diplomatic relationship with the Delta Quadrant hunters. The peace talks began with group tours of Amity's facilities, demonstrating the technological advancements made by the Federation since their last contact with the Hirogen approximately thirty years prior.

Making unprecedented use of several Starfleet ships sent (with skeleton crews) to reinforce Amity's defenses, Vataix arranged for a joint operation with the Hirogen - including a simulated "War Games". Hopper was temporarily assigned as the First Officer aboard the Intrepid Class USS Jemison, along with Acting CO Wil Ukinix, Acting Chief Engineer Nathan Richards, and the civilian science analyst Nadeshiko. The Jemison, along with the USS Halsey, under Commander Addison MacKenzie, and several other Starfleet and Hirogen vessels, led "Blue Team" to victory over the Kitty Hawk-led "Red Team".

Mission - Dark Roses (240005 - 240008)

During a mission to an alternate universe (the Mirror Universe) that remains deeply classified under the Parallax Protocol, Hopper participated in the rescue of several FDC, Starfleet, and Betazoid Noble personnel (including Rivi Vataix, Cara Veers, Tri'lea Polgonz, and Nathan Richards) who had been captured by the Betazoid Empire (Unified Houses of Betazed). The mission, which greatly affected many of the Officers that participated in it, definitely shook Hopper and she is still processing and attempting to work through the 'dark reality' she witnessed there. Shortly after returning to Amity Outpost, Robin was presented with a promotion to Lieutenant Commander.

OOC & Background

• Hopper is Keegan's second Player Character (his original was Kivik, as evidenced by his Wiki username and 118 email address).
• Robin's surname, Hopper, was inspired by real-world computer scientist and navy rear-admiral Grace Hopper.
• Hopper's personality is intentionally a blend of Keegan's own, his IRL partner's, Alison Brie (face claim), and Annie (her character in Community).

Family & Names

• Hopper can speak both High and Low Centauran fluently .
• Robin is named for an uncle she never met. Her mother, Melissa's, brother was a security officer aboard the USS Saratoga and was killed during the battle of Wolf 359 in the year 2367 - four and a half years before Robin was born.
• Robin's Centauran name is Kinolaisi, a "Private Name" in accordance with Centauran Custom, shared only with close family and intimate partners. She is accordingly nicknamed "Kino".
• Hopper's mother, Melissa, has affectionately nicknamed her "Birdie" .
• According to Hopper, her nickname, "Hops", comes from her intolerance for Hops-based beverages, such as beer .
• When Hopper was a child, she often insisted on being called "Hoppy".

Before Starfleet

• Hopper took dance lessons as a child at the "Cochrane Community Center" on Theta VII .
• Growing up, Hopper was fascinated by the ongoing story of the USS Voyager and remains a 'fan' of Admiral Janeway and the iconic Intrepid Class vessel.

• Despite living on Earth for ten years, Hopper has never visited Australia .
