Lily's Life
Pre-Starfleet
- 235205.24 - Aresee Lily Ventu is born in the Scandinavian region of Earth to Jarin and Matilda Ventu.
- 2355 - Aresee is first diagnosed with her classified 'chemical imbalance.' Although the disorder was treatable at birth, it is now something she must live with. Her parents start her on a daily round of medications and hypos.
- 2360 - At the age of 8, Aresee experiences her first violent mood swing while at school. Her medication is increased, and she is placed under the care of various counselors. It's around this time that she eschews her first name, citing an inborn hatred for its forced ostentatiousness, and chooses to go by her middle name, Lily.
- 2368 - Lily expressed the desire to become a counselor herself. Her mother, having recently retired from her merchant captaincy, suggests Starfleet as a possible career path.
- 2369 - Lily fails her first entrance exam when she attempts it during her junior year. She decides to try for a bachelor's degree in counseling psychology on Earth, and then go for her master's. However, a week after her failing scores arrive, an ensign from the Academy named Abby Roberts contacted Lily and urged her to re-take the exam. Lily signs up after her mother agrees that it's a good idea, but doesn't intend to sit the test again.
- 2370 - After her acceptance to two reputable schools and her graduation, Lily takes her second entrance exam. She passes, and decides to try it out for a year. Abby Roberts is assigned as Lily's don, and serves as her mentor and friend during her first terms.
- 2371 - In the first months of her freshman year, Lily meets Nicholas Parks, and the two become good friends. A month before the end of their first year, the two begin dating.
- 2373 - During Lily's junior year at the Academy, she decides to take a leave of absence for several reasons. Not coincidentally, the leave of absence request comes just as Nick and Lily break up.
- 2374 - Lily borrows a family ship and strikes out on her own.
- 2376 - Two years hence, Lily finds herself on the edge of Federation space, in the region known as the Borderlands. For some reason, she's drawn to the region. While there, pragmatism wins out over aesthetics, and Lily becomes Aresee again, using her old name as a kind of alias.
- 2378 - Aresee spends two years in the Borderlands, making various contacts and enemies. During the end of her stay, she discovers an eleven year old girl - Alexa, no last name - and, like her attraction to the Borderlands themselves, finds herself inexplicably drawn to the girl. She convinces the girl to come with her.
- 2379 - Aresee is chased out of the Borderlands by various enemies. She and Alexa return to Earth. Matilda and Jarin formally adopt Alexa.
- 2380 - Aresee spends several months at home, reacclimating to the Federation standard of life and helping her new sister adjust. To her dismay, she finds that her mood swings have returned in full force. Aresee returns to the Academy. She does an extra semester of catch-up. While there, she steers clear of romantic contact, and though she has a few acquaintances, makes few friends. She does not attempt to track down Nick, nor does she return to using Lily as her first name.
- 2382 - Aresee graduates from the Academy.
Starfleet Life
- 238208.15 - Aresee completes her final cadet cruise at Starbase 118.
- 238208.27 - Aresee is promoted to Ensign and assigned to U.S.S. Victory as counselor.
- 238209 - 238212 - Assisted with the mission to Tanuga IV. Aresee worked with a triage unit on the surface before being captured and held hostage. She was subsequently rescued by the Victory crew. She has no memory of what happened to her while she was a hostage.
- 238212 - 238301 - Following the Tanugan mission, Aresee spends a long period in technologically-induced resting periods, regaining her health.
- 238301.17 - Aresee is promoted to Lieutenant, Junior Grade.
- 238301 - 238304 - Took part in the Celipenthia Station mission. Aresee is assigned to Alpha Team, along with Lt. Commander Julia Harden and Lt. JG Ben Hunnicutt. Alpha Team infiltrates the station, allowing their crewmembers aboard. During this mission, Aresee's mother, Matilda, interferes, jeopardizing the lives of the crew.
- 238304.05 - Back aboard the Victory, Aresee watches as her mother is kidnapped by a strange, unmanned device.
- 238304.27 - Following increased bouts of depression, Aresee relieves herself of duty.
- 238305.03 - Aresee receives a message from her mother, relaying that Matilda is safe and is living approximately two hundred years in the future. Aresee returns to active duty.
- 238305.16 - Aresee is promoted to Lieutenant.
- 238306.06 - During a shipwide systems malfunction, Aresee remains on the bridge. There is an energy overload, during which Captain Robin Phoenix disappears. Aresee is temporarily placed in command.
- 238307 - Following the restoration of the Victory's systems, Aresee takes a leave of absence to return to Earth.
- 238309.22 - While returning from her leave of absence, Aresee's runabout is attacked by an unknown vessel. With Starbase 118's help, the vessel is destroyed.
- 238310.28 - After embarking upon the Victory's next mission - escorting some Bajoran diplomats - Aresee receives a message from her mother than the next few days will be 'very important' to both her and her timeline.
- 238312.09 - Aresee is attacked aboard the Victory by unknown assailants, and subsequently phased out of temporal sync by a woman named Aurelie Trenet who purports to be 'on her side.'
- 238401.09 - Aresee, Aurlie, and Captain Robin Phoenix are taken by a race calling themselves the Collectors. With Aurelie's help, they are able to escape and return to the Victory. Aresee is phased back to normal.
- 238402.19 - Aresee is promoted to Lieutenant Commander.
- 238403.29 - The Victory is decommissioned. Aresee is posted to the U.S.S. Constitution-B as second officer.
- 238404 (first third) - Aresee and her sister Alexa arrive on the Constitution, where Aresee formally receives her promotion to second officer. Lt. Commander Victoria Yladro, newly promoted to first officer, offers Aresee her old quarters.
- 238404 (second third) - Aresee quickly grows frustrated with her new position when she is assigned to work with ship's counselor Emirry MacGowan. After her first staff meeting aboard the Constitution, she stays to talk with Commander Daydan Taboo, the commanding officer, and expresses her concerns over her lack of formal duties. Taboo clarifies that she is free from a departmental designation, but that she oversees all departments. Since the Constitution's operations officer is on leave, Aresee takes on the responsibilites of the chief operations officer.
- 238404 (last third) - The Constitution arrives at Angel One, an independent world world seeking Federation membership. Commander Yladro leads an away team to the surface while Aresee is charged with preparing the reception banquet on the ship. However, while she is doing so, a small group of raiders from Angel One beams to the ship and incapacitates much of the crew. Aresee, with the help of her sister Alexa and recently rediscovered ex Nick Parks, manages to retake Engineering. From there, they, now helped by Lieutenant j.g. Katlin Uria, are able to gain control of the bridge and restore order on the ship.
- 238405 (first third) - Aresee and Nick, along with the recently arrived Ensign Mekarnoputra, try to reorganize the banquet. Indigo Haze, the leader of the raiders, is also with them, though Nick is keeping an eye on her. Aresee, however, doesn't trust the woman, and rightly so, as she attacks Counselor MacGowan in the corridor. Aresee has her locked in the brig, though the banquet proceeds on schedule.
- 238405 (second third) - The banquet is a success in more ways than one, though Angel One's bid for Federation membership is denied. However, Aresee and Nick get back together, and, after Aresee is 'asked' to sing at the ceremony by the captain, they consummate their relationship in Aresee's new quarters. While there, they discuss Aresee's career, Nick's promotion, and Aresee's name change. Aresee decides that one chapter in her life has come to a close, and she returns to using Lily as her first name.
- 238405 (late) - 238406 (early) - Lily and the rest of the Constitution crew head for Risa following the mission on Angel One. Lily and Nick are able to get a room at the last minute at Sunfall, a resort overlooking Suraya Bay. While there, Lily's approached by a man, Ven Jemtil, who says he's a friend of Aurelie Trenet from the future. He gives Lily a cryptic warning and departs. Lily keeps the warning, which is about Nick, to herself, hoping to protect him, until Nick confronts her point blank. He tells her that he doesn't care what's ahead for him, he won't leave her.
- 238406.10 - Lily is called by Daydan back to the Constitution on official business. Once there, he tells her that she's been offered the position of first officer on the Triumphant. Lily accepts, but only if Nick can be brought along; Daydan agrees to put through the necessary reassignment paperwork, and Lily prepares once again to leave a crew made up of her friends.
- 238406.13-16 - Lily arrives on Deep Space 17 and reports to the docked Triumphant, where she is formally welcomed aboard by Captain Rhys. Following a formal banquet, her first act as first officer is to discipline Ensign Tal Tel-Ar, who has been arrested for instigating a brawl in one of DS17's bars.
- 238406 (mid-late) - The Triumphant embarks on a mission to the FTU's Asterospolis, hoping to establish trade relations between the FTU and the Federation.
- 238407 - After discovering their contact on the FTU has been murdered, Lily leads a covert away team to the station. There, she discovers from FTU Captain Elos and her sister Merina that FTU Captain Brol Isak killed their contact, and is about to attack the Federation's Wheeler Colony.
- 238408 - The Triumphant is too late to stop the attack on Wheeler. Isak, however, claims that Elos was responsible, and enters into some lengthy talks with Captain Rhys while Lily oversees the rescue efforts for the colony and its support vessel, the Yellowknife. When Isak's ship attacks, both captains are knocked unconscious, leaving Lily in command with no way to make force Isak to make his ship back off. Using the crippled Yellowknife and the help of Elos's ship, the Guardian, Lily and the Triumphant crew are able to destroy Isak's ship. Rescue ships from the FTU and the Federation arrive, and the Triumphant heads back to DS17 for repairs.
- 238409 - After his recovery, Captain Rhys announces that he's being reassigned to Bajor and the Triumphant is being decommissioned. Lily is assigned to the USS Independence-A as that vessel's CMO, along with Lieutenant Quinn Reynolds and Lieutenant JG Tildaen Ethelwin from the Triumphant. The stopover at DS17 is a somewhat bittersweet one, though, as the relationship between Lily and Nick comes to an end. However, Lily does meet Nick's friend and Quinn's cousin, Doctor Hayden Reynolds, who's been newly assigned to the Independence as well.
- 238409 - 238410 - Lily serves as CMO for a short period before requesting an interdepartmental transfer from Admiral Anassasi, her new CO. Lily, in the absence of a command position, decided to fall back on her counseling training, and becomes the Independence's head counselor. Lily and Hayden clarify their status as significant others.
- 238411 - The crew of the Independence was split in half in order to investigate a mystery deep in the Ithassa Region. Lily, serving dually as counselor and Commander Sidney Riley's first officer, was part of a triage team sent to planet TE-IV to lend medical and humanitarian aid to the colonists there.
- 238412 - The mission on TE-IV goes south when a bomb explodes somewhere near the triage center. Lily's friend Quinn is badly hurt in the explosion, and as Lily watches helplessly as she fades away, she is swept into Quinn's mind and the elaborate dying/dream sequence therein. Lily manages to extract herself and get Quinn to safety, at which point the entire away team is evacuated. The crew departs the TE system, under orders to rendezvous with the USS Ronin and USS Ursa Major at Wheeler Colony.
- 238412 (late) - 238501 - The three ships' crews enjoy some leave time while their commanders discuss the next mission.
- 238501.22 - Hayden Reynolds proposes to Lily. She accepts, though the pairing comes as somewhat of a surprise to Quinn Reynolds and, as she's still dealing with the aftermath of TE-IV, not an entirely happy one.
- 238501 (late) - 238502 - While the three commanding officers and two more officers from each ship beam down to Wheeler, the three ships in orbit are swept through a spatial rip and thrown out to the galactic barrier. After recovering (mostly) from their temporary power losses, the ships have to deal with a rogue alien aboard the Independence and an oncoming alien fleet, as well as the question of getting back. Sidney Riley, the ship's usual FO, takes command and names Lily her first officer.
- 238502 - 238503 - Lily takes charge when the nonhumanoid alien decides to run amok. With the help of the Independence's own security, and a team sent over from the Ronin, the alien is discovered - hiding in the warp core. Quinn Reynolds ascertains that the alien requires plasma to "re-energize" itself, and Lily okays and oversees the power transfer. The alien, full revitalized, gives its thanks to the crew and sends all three ships home.
- 238504 - The Independence stops over at Deep Space 17 for some leave before heading out towards the Igloo Cluster for its next mission.
- 238505 (early) - Following Sidney Riley's promotion to commander and the decommissioning of the USS Ursa Major, the USS Tiger is commissioned as Riley's new command and Lily is assigned as her first officer. Part of the crews of both the Independence and the Ursa Major are assigned to the new vessel.

Medical Record
Medical History
- Lily has struggled with her condition, a neurochemical imbalance, since she was very young. Only in recent years has the condition lessened in its severity, thanks to new treatments and medicines. In her time in Starfleet, the condition has only hit severely two times:
- In her first weeks as an ensign aboard the Victory, she suffered extreme separation anxiety and nervousness, which the imbalance reflected back tenfold. She collapsed on the bridge, and was treated by Lieutenant Doctor Julia Harden in the Victory sickbay.
- Onboard the Constitution, following the discovery of her Lieutenant Commander Nick Parks's secret project, Lily overreacted and her chemical imbalance increased her feelings of hurt and jealousy over an assumed second lover. This time, she came out of it on her own, after being grounded in reality by Counselor Emirry MacGowan.
Physiological Profile
- Lily's only true injury of note occurred after her first mission onboard the Victory. Ensign Ventu had been taken hostage in a dispute with some Tanugan extremists, and when she was recovered, the full extent of her physical and mental injuries were unknown, even to her. It is likely that she was tortured, but the memories were blocked out. She was placed in a slow-healing stasis pod for three weeks following the incident.
Psychological Profile
- Other than her neurochemical imbalance (see above), Lily has no psychological problems of note.
- On several tests, Lily has been noted as ambitious and headstrong, with a tendency to go against rules, for good or ill. One striking example occurred in a mission the Victory crew had aboard a secret Romulan base. Her team leader, Commander Harden, ordered Lily to stay with the group, but Lily went against orders and left the group in order to rescue her mother. While her actions were not condemned following the mission, they are worthy of note.
Telepathic Status
- Lily has no measurable telepathic or empathic abilities. However, she has been privy to several psychic occurrences brought on by others, including a trip into Lieutenant Quinn Reynolds's dreams and a astral projection visit from Aurelie Trenet, both in 2384.
Hobbies, Interests, and Activities
- Lily enjoys reading the old fashioned way, as well as acting out holonovels. Thanks to Alexa, she also began to dance a few years ago, an activity she pursues on and off. She has, on occasion, also enjoyed a game of Velocity. She has fun cooking, though not in the traditional sense; she'll peruse the replicator menu for a long while, preparing strange dishes and trying to expand her horizons.
Notable Relationships
- Hayden Reynolds
- The initial relationship between Lily and Hayden was somewhat awkward, as Lily had recently broken off with Nick Parks, one of Hayden's oldest friends. However, the two moved quickly past it and ended up engaged in late January 2385. However, when neither could settle to a true wedding date, and after Lily had suspicions about Hayden's relationships with his colleagues Elizabeth Hathaway and T'Ren, they agreed (amicably) that an engagement sufficed for explaining their relationship, and not to rush the wedding.
- Quinn Reynolds
- Since she transferred with Quinn from the Triumphant to the Independence, Lily has come to view Quinn as a closer friend. After the incident on TE-IV wherein Lily actually visited Quinn's dreams, their relationship has intensified. The difficulty of balancing friendship and their professional relationship is sometimes trying for both, however, as Lily attempts to break through Quinn's tough exterior and Quinn tries to repel the incursion.
- Nick Parks
- Lily and Nick had a romantic relationship that lasted for nearly two and a half years during their freshman, sophomore, and junior years at the Academy. The 'ship ended abruptly due to Lily's withdrawal, and the next time they would see each other would be on the Constitution, many years later. Although initially opposed to beginning another relationship, they eventually gave in. This 'ship, however, would only last for four months before they were given different assignments following the decommissioning of the Triumphant in September 2384. Since then, their relationship has cooled somewhat.
- Sam Koveski
- Sam served on the Victory with Lily. As he fancied himself a bit of ladies' man, he tried to get the stubborn counselor to fall for him. Their relationship, while initially physical, changed into more of a friendship as time went on. When the Victory was decommissioned, they went their separate ways.
- Lily's Family
- Lily discovered her to-be-sister Alexa in the Federation Borderlands and brought her back to Federation space, where her parents formally adopted the girl; as such, she is very protective of her sister. Her mother is somewhat of a loose cannon, and often embarrasses her daughter, though she is quite intelligent, and despite their arguments, Lily loves her very much. Her father is the most grounded of her family, and unlike his wife, he enjoys his quiet retirement.
- Aurelie Trenet
- Aurelie is a time-traveling special agent that Lily has come to consider a friend after Aurelie helped her out of several sticky situations, including one in which she was trapped and awaiting death in her own subconscious.
- Ryan Devin
- Lily and Ryan worked together on the Victory, forming the entirety of the ship's counseling department. She grew to view him as a bit of a little brother figure, and watched out for him accordingly.
- Merina
- Lily has only known Merina for a short while, but in that while, she's begun to act like her mentor, leading her through her assimilation process back into Starfleet.
- Abby Roberts
- Captain Roberts, in turn, acted as Lily's mentor during her Academy days, and the two have kept in touch ever sense Lily rejoined the Fleet.
