Located in the Dungeon area of Starbase 118, '''The Playhouse''' is actually a 1920'a style lounge that hosts a full bar with both booth and open table seating. The main attraction of the playhouse is it incorporates the seating area with "dance space", allowing the Playhouse's owner, a corpulent and vastly overweight Ferengi, '''Guant''', to fill those areas with exotic dancers, who can be hired to perform while patrons enjoy fine cusine and pricey wines from across the quadrants.

Private dances can be arranged, but in compliance with Starfleet Regulations, patrons are not allowed to "touch" Guant's dancers. His dancers, on the other hand, are allowed to touch paying clients. Both pole and strip dancers are extremely common in the Playhouse, which starbase authorities have, on a fairly regular basis, attempted several times to shut down. However, Guant has proven time and again since there is no kind of sexual services involved and is a classic style lounge that just happens to host exotic dancing among its entertainment, no laws have been broken. And Guant has no problem having Starfleet officers in his establishment whatsoever.

Starbase 118 Security believes there most likely is "other" things going on, but given Guant has always let them in and they have never found anything illegal going on in the establishment, The Playhouse has become well known for its extremely talented, and beautiful, exotic dancers.


Drink minimum is five drinks, and tables rent for 50L an hour. Private booths range from 150L up to 500L, depending on the level of privacy customers pay for. Asking for "other services" only gets customers escorted out of the Playhouse (sans their drink minimum and table fees).
The Playhouse has become well known for its wide variety of extremely talented dancers, and tends to draw a very diverse crowd, including some of the station's Marine personnel. Guant keeps several bouncers on hand at all times, all of whom are happy to shut down any ill-behaved patrons.
