wiki ethos

Think you're wiki admin staff too right? If so... could I ask you to take a peak at my message to Commander Varaan & Lieutenant Sarak:-

I've just added a question there for you all... is there any other wiki staff? If so, perhaps they could glance over it too?

Cheers for your help.

Link to a slideshow

I created a slideshow/movie and put it on You Tube. You can watch it by doing a search for USS Indria. Now I want to put either the show or the link on the Indria's main wiki page. Is that possible? I've gotten an okay from Cmdr. Assanti. Julia Harden 22:20, 12 December 2008 (EST)

It has you as a Deck Officer on the UPDS, is that any help? --Quinn /talk page 02:31, 20 January 2009 (EST)

Your request to view the Ixvapyans and Gambians

First of all, thanks for your invitation to me to view these pages. Both look very well structured and have a great design. I must use such a template for my Illumini as well, once I have the time.

I especially like the Gambians page since it is filled with species information in great detail. I actually managed to get a great mental picture of the species, well done. The Ixvapyans page is still somewhat empty, but I have no fear this one will also be filled with the right information.

If it is constructive criticism you require, there is one big point and one smaller one for you. Let's start with the bigger one shall we :-) When using a Wikipedia, one of its most used features are the blue links that refer to further information on a subject. i.e: 'The species Illumini are a race which are members of the Federation'. When you type this, one can click onboth the Illumini and Federation part to get more Wiki info on those two subjects. You have not really used this function. If you want an example, look at my Illumini species profile, then you'll get the point. In your species text of the Gambians, there is for instance the text: 'They have existed within the FTU Core Worlds for as long as they can remember, always within the capacity of the service and when gathered, in their Assemble Crafts.' you could use this function to give people the ability to click on 'FTU Core Worlds' to look up what these are exactly. Do you understand what I mean?

Second, but very small and I have no doubt you guys are already working on it, most people like to see a visual on the subject they are reading. That is why I used an image of a Illumini (actually a Iceman drawing I found on google), which gives an overall better picture of how exactly I want people to 'see' my species.

But again... your pages look great. Actually, better organized then my own lol :-D

Page Creation

That looks like a page that was created but never used for anything. I can't remember why but it can be deleted. - LTjg Turc Brakur

Alright, changing it right now then. Moving right down the list :) Lance 20:43, 2 September 2009 (EDT)

Another question, does that mean the Salak article is no longer featured? If so, I can remove those templates as well. Lance 20:52, 2 September 2009 (EDT)

The relation was the whole point of the character. Please delete.

Re: What kind of Category?

This really shouldn't even be its own page. That kind of information belongs here. --Wolf /talk page 03:56, 22 July 2012 (UTC)

Age Template

No worries! I hadn't looked at it for a while since we didn't have the parser to do it properly, so I'm working on it right now (including documentation for it like the other templates I've made). When it's done, I'll add it to a list of templates I've made as well as leave you a message. –Rich(talk page) aka Lt.Cmdr. Rahman/MCpt. Kadosh 08:48, 26 November 2012 (UTC)

I think it's working now. Tell me if the instructions make sense.–Rich(talk page) aka Lt.Cmdr. Rahman/MCpt. Kadosh 09:51, 26 November 2012 (UTC)

Re: Multiple Image template

Sorry, I really have no idea :) --Wolf /talk page 01:52, 1 January 2013 (UTC)

Indy-A & such

Hi there! I was actually on the Indy-A during that mission. It was interesting because we had all simmed it as having been destroyed but then Kolk added that twist. Either way, though, our characters thought it was destroyed at least. Perhaps the wiki page should be updated to reflect this either directly or in a "OOC background" note. As for what's on Riley's page, looks like that was written by Maggie herself from her old page based on the page history. Feel free to correct it! ♫ Rich118Wiki AdministratorSend Message 21:47, 30 May 2015 (CDT)

Oh, you don't need to worry about asking: by all means, update away! Be bold as is our guidelines! :D ♫ Rich118Wiki AdministratorSend Message 01:41, 31 May 2015 (CDT)

Ramdii - Ramd question

Ramdii - Ramd:

I see a deletion note on Ramd, and a sysop protection on Ramdii. I'm contemplating converting to current formats and/or moving Ramd into main (I removed the deletion note on Ramd since it's a linked page for now)

What would you recommend I do? Ceciri (talk) 05:03, 7 June 2015 (CDT)

(double posted, removing to comment. Some days I don't understand you, mediawiki)

Nice article! Feel free to cross post it in the FNS forum! ♫ Rich118Wiki AdministratorSend Message 22:07, 13 July 2015 (CDT)

No worries! Our manual of style is here: Federation News Service/Manual of Style. Basically, we use the intro sentence for the front page/facebook link of a story and the headlines (lower case like a regular sentence), for the tweets. A quote or two adds a nice sense of worldbuilding. :) ♫ Rich118Wiki AdministratorSend Message 23:33, 13 July 2015 (CDT)
