Considering the pivotal location, StarBase 118's history is considerably short, due mostly to it's placement on the frontier of Federation space.

	Leadership

Since its construction, StarBase 118 has had a number of StarFleet administrators who have helped shape the scope of the base's mission. Most recently, Commander Sal Taybrim assumed command of StarBase 118 in 2392.

The station was previously under the command of Commander Leo Handley-Page, Captain William Rogers, Captain Kalianna Nicholotti, Captain Andrus Jaxx, Fleet Captain Sidney Riley, Commander Jhen Thelev, Commander Lily Ventu, Rear Admiral Rocar Drawoh, Captain Mal Avatar, Captain Tyr Waltas, Captain Steve McCall, Captain Day-Van Pel Nekkar, Fleet Captain Hebron, Captain Malcolm Lysander, Captain Ciara Randor, Captain Curtis Arvanon and Captain Tristan Wolf (now Fleet Admiral).

	Important Dates

• 2280 - Starfleet acknowledges the need for a manned presence at the critical juncture between the Federation, Klingon Empire, and Romulan Star Empire. Planning and tactical requirements are outlined for a new Trojan-class station.
• 2301 - Construction begins.
• 2321 - Founded.
• 2346 - Construction of new base begins
• 2372 - Tristan Scott Wolf assumes command of base.
• 2373 - Tristan Scott Wolf is appointed to Admiral In Charge.
• 2374 - Ciara Randor assumes command of base.
• 2375 - Base destroyed by Kalendra and Curtis Arvanon assumes command of base.
• 2376 - New construction begins and Malcolm Lysander assumes command of base.
• 2379 - Luke Cassius Reider is appointed to Admiral In Charge and Xan Kanthoth Hebron assumes command of base.
• 2380 - Day-Van Pel Nekkar assumes command of base.
• 2381 - Steve Lee McCall assumes command of base.
• 2383 - Tyr Jashin Waltas assumes command of base and later Mal Avatar assumes command of base.
• 2384 - Rocar Drawoh-Hilzarie assumes command of base.
• 2386 - Rocar Drawoh-Hilzarie is appointed to Administrative Officer, Lily Ventu assumes command of base and later Sidney Riley assumes command of base.
• 2387 - Jhen Thelev assumes command of base.
• 2388 - Andrus Jaxx assumes command of base.
