Skyleena Blake, (also known as Sky), a Brekkian Betazoid hybrid, is deceased - her cause of death reported to be a brain aneurysm. She had been missing and presumed deceased for two months following the destruction of the medical facility where she was staying after the birth of her son Ayeden Blake two days prior. Blake previously served as a Starfleet Security officer before resigning her commission, citing a need to spend more time with her growing family. She was bond-mate and fiance to Lieutenant Sabor, and mother to children Faith and Ayeden.

Personality
Physical appearance
*Had a telepathy rating of T4 Long Range - thanks to Sabor, she was able to control and limit the amount of people she could hear. She was also bonded to Sabor, which enabled her to 'borrow' his Vulcan abilities, and he hers. Because of the bond, she could speak Vulcan Golic, share his knowledge, and was even capable of 'switching off' the majority of her emotions.

Blake is a humanoid of Brekkian and Betazoid descent, sharing emerald green eyes with her Brekkian father but lacks any notable Brekkian features. She is 5'10 and sports short blonde hair, just long enough to be tied back. She wears three rings on her right hand, denoting her marriage to Sabor, placed on her thumb (a plain copper band), second (a plain gold band), and fourth (a stainless steel band with emerald gemstone) fingers, respectively.

*Although she was in a clear relationship with Sabor and was telepathically bonded with him, Sky preferred not to call him her 'bond mate', and instead continued to reference him as her 'partner'. It should be noted, however, that she had been caught calling him 'Imzadi' more than once.
Because she is part Brekkian, Blake's body temperature is higher than that of the average humanoid. Her skin is surprisingly warm if not hot to touch. She often wears layers when operating aboard Federation vessels, adding additional pieces to her uniform to remain warm in what are otherwise regular temperate environments. She may even go so far as to wear thick thermal clothing to replace parts of her uniform or add more layers underneath it.

*Sky was caring and friendly to those around her, especially after having her daughter, Faith, and being bonded to Sabor. A growing family had given her a new perspective on things, but she would become protective of herself, her family and her friends if insulted or threatened. If pushed far enough, she would lash out with a glimpse of her old self.
She will wear comfortable form-fitting clothing when dressing outside of duty. Usually consists of brightly coloured, but otherwise plain clothing — typically a t-shirt and shorts. Blake thrives in hot climates and enjoys this casual getup when possible. Outside of her quarters, and in temperatures under 30 degrees, she is not known to allow much exposure of her skin, and she will wear well-fitted, long-sleeve shirts with a neckline no lower than her collar bone. If it is still too cold, she will resort to wearing thick thermal skins designed to retain her body temperature, and gloves if necessary.

*Having had a family of her own to consider had taught Sky to think about her decisions and their consequences. For example; when making combat decisions, if Sky believed that she was outmatched and did not have a good and clear advantage, she would flee.

* Seemed to have a fear of landing large ships (such as the Vigilant) after hearing horror stories about the Avandar crashing on Eden.
Blake's life revolves near-exclusively around her job in the Shoals. Her position aboard the Veritas and her role as a Starfleet Ranger provided her with a purpose she didn't have prior to re-joining Starfleet. She takes threats to the Shoals region incredibly seriously and becomes frustrated when her fellows (especially those in Starfleet]] don't show the same level of commitment to the rules and regulations of the areas—such as Kelrod discharging a phaser to stop an escalating physical conflict in a Ketar V establishment, which ultimately lands he, Wil Ukinix, and Captain Roshanara Rahman in Colonial Coalition Marshals holding cells. Comparatively, when an officer is untrusting of the Marshals, Blake becomes equally frustrated, regardless of whether she knows they are right in their assumptions (as is the case with Hannibal Parker).

Appearance
Blake prefers an advisory role specifically in the Shoals — which is the reason she was re-recruited back to Starfleet in 2392. She even admits to Rahman that she doesn't like being aboard starships because of the ongoing impact the environment has on her ill-suited physical health, but continued to serve for the positive influence the purpose of service provides for her mental health. To some, Blake may have been a controversial choice of executive officer for Veritas. She is highly critical of Starfleet as an organisation, perceiving its current operations as being a flawed result of increased paranoia following the events of the Dominion War.

Had been called the "spitting image" of her mother several times, but had her grandmother's eyes (Brekkian side).

* Height: 5'10
Blake sometimes struggles to "switch off" from her duties, making it hard for others to connect with her on a personal level. Some may find it easier to only engage with Blake on duty, but with persistence, it is possible to break through her all-work-no-play psyche, revealing an easy-going woman. She surrounds herself deliberately with colour, having subscribed rather heavily into Ornaran colour psychology, and is considerably bright and charismatic when faced with relaxed social settings. Blake is strict with herself and tries her best to abide by social norms, rules, and laws of other cultures or colonies.
* Hair Color: Blond
* Length of Hair: Long and wavy, but she had mentioned a few times she needed to trim it down again.
* Eye Color: Bright Green.
* Birthmarks, Scars, Tattoos: Scar on her lower back from a Bajoran dagger piercing her spinal cord. For some unknown reason, she refused offers to remove it.
* Build: Athletic and curved.
* Taste in clothing (Off Duty): After the birth of her daughter, something purely simple. Only ever wears formal clothing if the situation is just that; formal. During a party on Rubica Island (a holodeck program that runs continuously on the Vigilant), she wore a red bathing suit with a green wrap around skirt.
* Taste in clothing (On Duty): Had a habit of wearing her uniform jacket open whilst on duty and not in dire situations. Had a taste in the long field jacket, but only wore it on away missions when possible. Her utility belt was on, regardless of whether or not her tricorder and phaser were attached.
* Voice: Seritonian accent when she spoke a Brekkian language. Had something that could be considered as an American accent when speaking Earth English. Due to bonding with Sabor, she was also able to speak Golic Vulcan, but was barely understandable due to difficulties in regards to pronunciation and a heavy accent. Was in the middle range of an alto and a soprano.

Manner
Blake will ask questions and press for more information when she feels she does not have all the answers she requires, though admittedly becomes frustrated if others refuse to provide them. When required to make decisions, she prefers all have had their say first so that she can determine a course of action based on the information provided — though she has on occasion been known to make rash, ill-thought-out decisions when the crew is on a time crunch, possibly explaining her constant need for information.

*Habits: Tended to throw knives at random things (most notably a dart board when she has run out of darts) when she was in a bad mood. Also tended to swear in Seritonian Brekkian when she thought the situation required it.
If irritated, she becomes cold and blunt. However, she will not raise her voice when speaking to others.
*Religion/Spiritual Devotion: Norssian
** Believed in a Brekkian goddess called Noree. Sky rarely had the time to pray, claiming that most of her spare time had been taking up by Faith (Sabor believed this was simply an excuse, somehow under the impression that she was slowly losing ties with her religion), but she did send the occasional thought to her whenever possible or whilst in a stressful situation. She planned on attempting to raise Faith in the Norssian religion, but had decided that she would allow Faith to do whatever she pleases in that area of her life should she not choose to be a Norssian.

Hobbies and Pastimes
Blake has struggled to set down roots and maintains homesteads in several different locations—including on Delos IV, Shadow's Edge, and Meridian. Though not originating from the Shoals, she is rather "patriotic" about the area, going so far as to demand the Colonial Coalition flag in her official Starfleet portrait.

* Socialization:
{{Quote box
** Was quick to go out for a dinner or a drink with friends, so long as she wasn't busy with Sabor or Faith. Also participated in parties if asked, but refused to drink anything but water.

Zhou: You’ve always been uncomfortable when you’ve met people from that “other” Sky’s past. The familiarity foreign to you.

* Holodeck/Outside:
In this regard, Zhou had been lucky. He’d never heard of or met Sky Blake before his mission to go find her on Ornara and recruit her help when Veritas had been tasked with dealing with Brekkian drug smuggler pushing felicium into the Shoals. Perhaps that was why she’d been willing to let him get so close.
** Sky spent most of her free time in the Holodeck, especially with her daughter. The more Faith grew up, the more Sky attempted to teach her to appreciate the landscape.
** Had a wish to return to Poseidon for a holiday with her family again.

*Work:
Zhou: I don’t think this is as much about being offended as it is you worried you’re going to find out more about who you really were once… and maybe not living up to that. ::He shrugged.:: Or maybe just finding out how much you’ve changed.
** Once believing that field work was far better than paperwork, Sky quickly learned the perks and the system to paperwork. It had gotten to the point where she preferred filing reports than leaving the ship for field work while she was still an officer.
** After resigning from Starfleet, Sky spent her time reading up on the political situation of Seritona, Brekka.

* Jibrore:
Despite her committed relationship to Rairen Caide, Blake still wears three rings denoting her marriage to Sabor, her Vulcan bond-mate who was killed in 2391, on her right-hand thumb, second, and fourth fingers. Though she is protective of her children and their privacy, she frequently entrusts others to watch over them when she is not available—which is often the case for her son Ayeden, who has had countless guardians over the last two years alone.
** A Seritonian (Brekkian) hot syrup-like drink that is basically made from nothing but sugar. Since Sky wasn't able (and absolutely hated) to drink coffee of any type, she drank jibrore to help her wake up.
** Had at least two every morning.

* Brekkian chocolate:
If faced with information about her life prior to her amnesia, Blake will recoil and immediately attempt to retract herself from the situation. She fears her "past life" and does not wish to be someone she is not. She encourages Tristam Core to delete a holographic version of herself, adamant that a second Sky Blake (from years ago) is of no benefit to anyone, and considers the hologram as nothing more than a dangerous ghost.
** Started to have what seemed like withdrawal symptoms if she goes without some for more than two weeks, but seems to be determined to stay away from it after Faith's birth. She renewed this determination when her son Ayeden was born.
** Loved Brekkian white chocolate.

* Cats:
Personal spaces
** Sky always - ever since a child - wanted a kitten or a cat, just so that she wasn't alone in her quarters or room. Sky seems to have a loving tendency for them. Her pet, Kitty, lived with her whilst working as a Starfleet officer until she was transferred to the USS Avandar.
Blake considers her quarters to be much too large to inhabit, preferring small work areas. Her office is described as having been deliberately cluttered with items of various origin, though none are truly personal to her. The door is programmed to remain open unless privacy was required to encourage walk-ins, and is a deliberate attempt at forgoing a formal feel. Blake attached a bar to the ceiling of the room of which is used for exercise, an accompanying safety mat can also be located within the office. Shelving with various PADDs can be located to the right of the room when walking in. On the left, a display connected to the Colonial Coalition Marshals Service database updates.

Other information
* Coffee:
Blake is (begrudgingly) a vegetarian, though not by conscious choice of her own. She mentions to Wil Ukinix that it is a psychological result of her bond to Sabor, a Vulcan.
** Sky found the smell of any coffee revolting for an unknown reason. Because of this, coffee of any type was banned in her quarters.

* Thunder and Lightning:
She's proficient in the Brekkian language of Seritonian (her mother tongue) and is also surprisingly fluent in at least two Ornaran and Vulcan dialects. Blake is a Federation citizen by marriage—as is her son by birth. Her daughter, however, is currently considered a dual citizen of Brekka and Ornara, making relocating her particularly difficult when Brekka creates policies disallowing permanent relocation. When the Federation refuses to provide assistance, the Eleventh and Twentieth House of Betazed steps in, as Blake is a member of the former and Ilakai is revealed to be a member of the latter.
** Due to the lack of rain in Kekorna and Lornae city together, Sky refused to be anywhere near thunder and lightning. This could be because she was scared of them.
** Whenever a Holodeck program made thunder and lightning its weather, Sky deliberately changed it.

* Bullies:
Gallery
**It's understandable that she didn't seem to like bullies, especially when she was bullied and teased her whole life. She stood up to anyone who harasses or bullies other members of the crew, and constantly suggested to her officers to lay charges if other people, who are in Starfleet, ever threatened, harassed or bullied them.

Trivia
** Used to have a cat by the name of Kitty, of whom got herself into many sticky situations on both the USS Ronin and the USS Mercury. She was sent to Lila, Sky's mother, when she deemed it 'too life threatening' to have the cat aboard a starship.
*At some point before joining Starfleet initially, Blake was a gymnast.
*When Zhou Tai-Sheng shows up at the Ornaran bar Blake frequents, he orders a Xarantine ale. Blake's first mission in the fleet was Challenger's Between a Rock and a Hard ?, where the Challenger was tasked with mediating a dispute between the Klingons and the Xarantine.
*Blake remembers piloting techniques from a helm officer she served with, but not his name.
*As she's assigned to the Bajak Laut sector, Blake's title is technically "Bajak Laut Ranger" - which literally translates to "Pirate Ranger".
*According to Tristam Core, Blake is rich in latinum thanks to her father's involvement in the continued development of felicium before his death. Core wasn't sure exactly how much she has, but supposedly she could "fund a semi-united Brekkian government for five years and still enough left over for a nice little retirement with her kids on Ferenginar".
**However, due to her father having earned it through decades of exploitation of the Ornarans, she has only accessed these funds whilst living on the Ornaran homeworld, using them to house her daughter (and her caretakers) and funding Bintac LE's anti-felicium operations. She also accessed the account to pay for Zhou's drink when they first met, but this was refunded to her.
*Blake's middle name is "Serrella", taken after her father's personal assistant - whom she claims her father would have been nothing without.<ref>[https://groups.google.com/d/msg/sb118-veritas/qb_tb9QJ_z4/snEbGc9qFQAJ "From nothing to something." *Favourite Room: Outside or Holodeck. Specifically that of beaches or of her home in Kekorna.

Achievements and Disappointments
* Achievements:
** Her career.
** Found out she was pregnant with a girl, and gave birth to Faith Juanita Blake on board the USS Thunder.

* Disappointments:
** Her childhood. She was never really accepted into anything, which made a big impact on her personality now.
** Was involved with the Brekkian civil war, and was caught in the middle of the bombings.

*Ambitions/Goals:
** Sky currently just wants to be a good mother.

Family
Father
Rex Blake, Sky's father, was a full Brekkian, and was a Seritonian scientist. The relationship between Sky and Rex was not even there, as Rex believed Sky was a specimen of his (she was, at that time, the only Brekkian Betazoid hybrid on record), and dedicated himself only to his work. Although living with her parents for sixteen years, Sky barely knew Rex.

Rex was killed during the Seritonian bombings (in the area of Kekorna), one of thousands who died throughout the Brekkian country - he met his death in a Science facility, along with other fellow scientists who worked there. In Rex's will, all of the research Lila and Rex had collect on Sky was all handed over to her, possibly in an attempt to help her with Faith's biology, but no one will ever know why.

Mother
Lila Cole, Sky's full Betazoid mother, is currently somewhere on Betazed, and her reasons to be there are unknown. Sky originally didn't get along with her mother, until she joined StarFleet Academy - of which time her mother went after her to talk with her. Opposite to her father, Lila actually cared about her daughter's whereabouts and her wellbeing. She managed to get their relationship to the point where Sky would communicate with her every day, and Sky would tell her what’s on her mind. The two now have a good relationship. When she can, Lila likes to keep tabs on her only granddaughter, practically demanding images and time to talk to her, and Sky is happy to oblige. When Sky told her she would have not one, but two grandchildren, Lila was ecstatic. She wrote letters to Sky to keep in touch, and Sky continuously wrote back until her supposed death on stardate 239104.19.

Spouse
Sky was engaged to Lieutenant Sabor, previously an Armory Officer aboard the Vigilant-A. Although apparently beginning shortly after her daughter's birth, her relationship with him only became public when the two were first transferred to the Avandar - something that was possibly influenced by one Hannibal Parker. Sky appointed Sabor as Faith's legal guardian, thus he was her adoptive father, although he acted in this role for a while previously, and loves Faith as if she was his own. They are currently expecting their second child.

For some unknown reason, it seemed that the two were becoming more like each other. The bond between them enabled them to know each others language (both, however, were extremely accented whilst trying to speak it), memories and feelings, but strangely, they both seemed to exhibit each other’s personality. Sky had become more 'mature', so to speak, while making her decisions, and had notably become 'more logical' - although, she will blame it on being mother to Faith. Sabor, on the other hand, showed emotional responses of which he would not exhibit prior to their relationship (e.g. smiling and laughing (as noted by Parker)).

After learning of Sky's pregnancy with their second child, Sabor became increasingly concerned about her health and well being - so much so, that Sky had mentioned of their arguing about it telepathically while on and off duty. This was ultimately resolved with 'ground rules', though his concern for her has not changed. Their son, Ayeden Hamish Blake, was born on stardate 239104.15 whilst on a shuttle to her homeworld Brekka. So far, only Sabor and Sky have seen their son. It is presumed that Sabor may be deceased as well.
<br style="clear:both;" />

Children
* Faith Juanita Blake
A baby girl born on stardate 238905.17 in the USS Thunder's Sick Bay. Faith is biologically not related to anyone apart from Sky and her family - in short, biologically, Faith does not have a father.

Faith has dark green eyes currently - taking after her mother and her great grandmother (Sky's father's side). It's reasonable to believe that she will gain the same abilities as Sky - some sort of telepathy, and a Brekkian charge. Currently, she is capable of speaking simple sentences, the majority of which are in Vulcan Golic. She has been unable to pick up Sky's language (Seritonian Brekkian), and Sky isn't sure if this is because she is incapable or not.

Sky named Hannah Martinez and Hannibal Parker as Faith's godparents. Should anything happen to Sky, and she is not involved with anyone, Faith is to be cared for by either one of her godparents. It's unknown if Faith is to be transported to one of her godparents, or if she is to remain with her grandmother.

* Ayeden Hamish Blake
A boy born on stardate 239104.15 whilst on a shuttle heading to Sky's homeworld of Brekka. He takes his name from an ancient Brekkian word for 'courage', of which Sabor had found fitting. Ayeden has soft brown eyes, and only slightly pointed ears. So far, the only people to have seen him are his parents and his Betazoid grandmother. It's unknown what is to happen to Ayeden, as both his parents are missing/presumed dead, and it's unknown how he had been removed from the medical facility prior to it's destruction, whilst his parents were still inside.

Death
The Meridarna Hospital, the medical facility of which Blake and her family had been staying, exploded due to a presumed terrorist attack. Although admitted, none of the Blake family had been found in the wreckage of the facility - her two children were later located at the Blake family home 100kms away in Kekorna. Unable to locate them or, worst case scenarios; their bodies, Brekkian authorities labelled both Sky and her partner Sabor as missing - presumed deceased, on stardate 239104.20.

Almost two months later, after an anonymous tip, Blake's body was found in Kekorna forest on stardate 239106.02. There were no injuries of which may have been related to the explosion of Meridarna hospital, and no physical trauma was present. Doctors reported cause of death to be a brain aneurysm, and it was presumed that she had been deceased for a total of 5 hours before being found.

Education
Kekorna Schooling
Was born in Kekorna, and thus, went to a Kekorna pre-school for about two years, until her parents moved her to Kekorna Publisse Public School. (A Publisse school means that it's almost all years of teaching).

During this time, Sky excelled in classes such as Physical Education, Science and Linguistic skills. Other classes such as History and Mathematics were weak points for Sky, but she received tutoring from Benjuri Masuka, her Mathematics teacher. Although the majority of her teachers remarked in many of her reports that she would not do particularly well in life (having failed Social Skills for Life – also known as SSL), she passed her 10th schooling level, her final one before dropping out, with flying colours.

Brekkian Training Association
After dropping out of KPPS, Marloy (of whom was training her in Athletics at the time) requested that Sky become a student of the BTA – a program that mentored adults and students alike to do well in life. She was accepted almost immediately (due to her half-Betazoid heritage, a previous history of bullying, and a failure of SSL), and Marloy became her mentor full time.

During this time, Sky chose to become an athlete – and has competed in several different countries on Brekka. Despite not being the best of the best, she made a name for herself in Lornae, and was normally quick to sign up for any local athletic tournaments. She has competed in a total of two international tournaments, and is proud to have 3 medals (two bronze and a silver).

Two years after being accepted, Marloy was put on leave due to personal reasons. The BTA decided that Carina Mycroft (a mentor specializing in social activities) would take his place. During the first few weeks, Sky and Carina argued, and Carina even had something thrown at her a couple of times, but things did clear up. After a month and a half, the two became good friends. During her time with Carina, Sky was made more aware of things like alcohol, drugs and sexual activities, as well as special social events like Award and Recognition nights for her gymnastics. Her time with Carina lasted almost two years until Marloy returned.

Marloy and the BTA was instrumental in getting Sky to sign up for Starfleet Academy, and Sky was probably one of few Brekkians to do so.

This page refers to Prime Blake. You may be looking for Sky Blake (hologram) or Sky Blake (alternate).

Skyleena Blake is a half Brekkian, half Betazoid serving as Vice Chief of the Colonial Coalition Marshals Service.

She previously served as a Starfleet officer aboard the USS Challenger-A, USS Ronin, USS Mercury, USS Avandar, USS Vigilant, USS Syracuse, and USS Veritas, earning the rank of Commander. She retired from active service in mid-2398.

Physical appearance

Blake in 2397.

Personality

"You're a widow, Commander. Born out of ash and fire with just five years of life under your belt. The things that scare you are complex - they are very real problems. But some of us are simply spooked by a darkened corridor."
Kallo Ver, "The unordinary man of the Shoals."

To some, Blake may have been a controversial choice of executive officer for USS Veritas. She is highly critical of Starfleet as an organisation, perceiving its current operations as being a flawed result of increased paranoia following the events of the Dominion War.

If irritated, she becomes cold and blunt. However, she will not raise her voice when speaking to others.

Zhou: You’ve always been uncomfortable when you’ve met people from that “other” Sky’s past. The familiarity foreign to you.

Zhou: I don’t think this is as much about being offended as it is you worried you’re going to find out more about who you really were once… and maybe not living up to that. ::He shrugged.:: Or maybe just finding out how much you’ve changed.

Blake: I’ve heard about the woman I was. ::She shook her head.:: I didn’t like her very much.

Personal spaces

Blake is (begrudgingly) a vegetarian, though not by conscious choice of her own. She mentions to Wil Ukinix that it is a psychological result of her bond to Sabor, a Vulcan.

Trivia

  • At some point before joining Starfleet initially, Blake was a gymnast.[3]
  • When Zhou Tai-Sheng shows up at the Ornaran bar Blake frequents, he orders a Xarantine ale. Blake's first mission in the fleet was USS Challenger-A's Between a Rock and a Hard ?, where the Challenger was tasked with mediating a dispute between the Klingons and the Xarantine.
  • Blake remembers piloting techniques from a helm officer she served with, but not his name.[4]
  • As she's assigned to the Bajak Laut sector, Blake's title is technically "Bajak Laut Ranger" - which literally translates to "Pirate Ranger".
  • According to Tristam Core, Blake is rich in latinum thanks to her father's involvement in the continued development of felicium before his death. Core wasn't sure exactly how much she has, but supposedly she could "fund a semi-united Brekkian government for five years and still enough left over for a nice little retirement with her kids on Ferenginar".[5]
    • However, due to her father having earned it through decades of exploitation of the Ornarans, she has only accessed these funds whilst living on the Ornaran homeworld, using them to house her daughter (and her caretakers) and funding Bintac LE's anti-felicium operations. She also accessed the account to pay for Zhou's drink when they first met, but this was refunded to her.
  • Blake's middle name is "Serrella", taken after her father's personal assistant - whom she claims her father would have been nothing without.[6]
