“Con mucho gusto”

With Pleasure

One of the longest serving vessels in Starfleet, the Renaissance-class USS Centris and was initially on active duty as part of the base's Deep Space Exploration Project in February of 2372. When Admiral Elinor of Kanist transferred to StarBase 118 to take over the training department, however, the Centris returned to dock at the base, and was used regularly on training missions.

When the Starbase was rebuilt (having been destroyed by Kalendra), the training program was restructured so that all training occurs on two huge holodecks on the base. As such, the original Centris was docked in long-term storage at the base.

The Centris had already exceeded its life expectancy when put in storage, and compared to modern ships it was somewhat dated. No junior quarters had replicators, so the ship's galley is used not only for social dining, but for all dining. The ship had also been retrofitted with a single holodeck -- horrifyingly sparse compared to the newer classes. A faithful servant to the end, the Centris is now on permanent display a the StarFleet museum near Mars.
