  • Briefing Room - The U.S.S. Challenger Senior Officers often use the Observation Lounge on Deck 1 for mission briefings as it is fitted with a large table and chairs, and gives a view of space through an expanse of windows. The lounge also houses the Challenger's Dedication Plaque.

  • Chief Tactical Officer's Office - This multi-room department is located in a restricted area on deck 15. Within it are the entrances to the phaser range, the Brig, the torpedo/probe magazine, the auxiliary weapon control room and to the Ship's Armory, as well as the Chief Tactical Officer's office.

The CTO's office is decorated to the officer's preference. It contains a work area, a personal view screen, a computer display, and a replicator.
