A system with two average-sized stars, about the same size as Sol, and a single Class-L planet dubbed Rakis. Rakis itself is dominated by huge deserts that occupy all but its polar regions. While the deserts get quite hot during daylight hours, the polar regions reach only slightly above freezing. The fact that the planet does not tilt more than half a degree on its axis accounts for its nearly complete lack of seasons. However, the night-side of the planet drops well below freezing after the sun goes down.

The deserts and the border regions of the polar areas are prowled by large predatory creatures that swim through the sand.

The crew of the USS Ronin was stranded here for a short time after shipwide systems failures forced an evacuation of the vessel.
