The Node is the unofficial name for the Operations Management Center, a two-story central hub in which the Operations staff of Starbase 118 do the majority of their duties.

Purpose

The Operations Management Center is like Mission Control, City Hall and the Harbour Master's Office all rolled into one. The staff there take care of all the day-to-day details of Starbase operation; such as turbolift priorities, scheduling dockings and managing utility use within and without the station, allowing the Command Towers to deal with matters of a broader scale.

Location

The Node is situated near the top of the Starbase. It is an advantageous position that allows for easy access to the Command Towers and provides some offices and observation lounges with a bird's eye view of the docking bays.
