Appearance

Tal has a very athletic and well defined body. With wide shoulders, a deep chest and washboard stomach he tends to stand out. When added to his height, narrow face with a strong jaw, piercing grey eyes and light blue skin he can be an imposing figure. He is supriseingly graceful and trains constantly to stay in shape.

Relationships

Family

Unknown - Tal has no idea who his parents were. Upon his rescue and transfer back to Andor, Tal was given extensive genetic and DNA testing. The results of these tests were puzzleing. While his DNA and genetic material was definately 100% Andorian, no clan or family matchs could be found. As a result he has no clan ties or family background. This has made him an outcast on Andor.

Friends

Due to his early years spent growing up in an extremely harsh primative warrior culture Tal has almost no social skills. He tends to avoid people and can be as emotionless as a Vulcan. This has resulted in his being a loner by nature and background.

At the Academy Tal's room mate was a human called Jason Stone. He was probally Tal's first and only friend. A cheerful young man with blonde wavy hair, a surfers tan and a friendly easy going manner. Everyone liked him, especially the girls. He was a little wild, loved to surf, swim and sail.

Tal never made any friends while serveing aboard the USS Corona, USS Triumphant, USS Trafalgar or the USS Constitution-B.

The same can be said of his time aboard the USS Eagle. However due to his involvement in putting a dent into the Orion Syndicate's smuggleing operation on Starbase 118 he was put into the position of having to become room mates with a genetically created female slave now called Koriander. She lived with him in his quarters until she become a Cadet and is now attendening classes at Starfleet Academy on Earth.

Romance

Tal has had a fairly lackluster romantic life. His first female contact was with a fellow student at the Academy. She was a Bolian and it was his roommate that made the arrangements. This turned out to be more of a physical relationship as neither Tal or Nira had the time or interest in anything faintly romantic.

His next contact was a terran female named Beth Trindel. This occured while he was still attending the Academy. Tal was volunteered to double date with Jason and the girl he was currently interested in. While they did have a number of interests in common (competative martial arts) the relationship never went much farther than physical.

It was many years before Tal had any further contact with any female. When he finally did it was with Koriander a genetically created female that due to circumstances beyond his control was forced to become his room mate. While they became friends and did enjoy a physical connection it never even closely resembled anything romantic.

It was not till Ensign Elina Rose Kincade came aboard the USS Eagle that anything even closely resembleing romance entered his life. His first meeting with her had them butting heads over getting his back brace repaired. The second meeting was totally different and ended with her asking him to join her for drinks. For some reason he agreed. This was the start of a rather intense, if pecular courtship that resulted in Elina moveing into his quarters after about a month and a half.

Medical History

Pre-Starfleet Medical Records

Their are no medical records pertaining to his childhood but an intensive medical exam performed upon his entering Starfleet Academy revealed a incredible number of scars over much of his body. Most of them appear to have been made by various edged weapons. His back was also cover with marks that seem to have been inflicted by a rough material sticking him repeatedly. His bone structure also showed signs of having been subjected to numerous forms of blunt trama. The scars have been removed and any damage to his bones has been repaired.

His medical records from Andor show that Tal has above average strength, endurance, IQ, reflex's and increased sense's. He also has no DNA or genetic material in common with any known Andorian clan or family. Even stranger is the fact that his reproductive system is totally different from that of any other male Andorian. The rest of his Andorian medical records have been sealed and are unavailable by order of the Andorian ruling council.

Starfleet Medical Records

His medical record since entering Starfleet Academy shows that he never took a single sick day. He had a few minor injures as is the norm but took no time off.

Same for his time aboard the USS Trafalgar and the USS Constitution-B.

While aboard the USS Triumphant Tal was injured while fighting off boarders dureing a battle with the FTU. His injuries included a dislocated shoulder, second degree burns, knife wounds and mild disruptor burns.

On 238503.05 while on an away mission in the Trinity Sector, on a planet called Cart'hen III Tal was arrested and sentenced to death. The cities police beat him almost to death. When he was rescued and returned to the USS Eagle he underwent 4 hours of emergency surgery. Upon arrival at Starbase 118, Tal was transfered to the station's medical facility. They were able to repair most of the damage but Tal was told he would have to remain in a medical hover chair until the damage to his back, spine and legs had healed.

On 238506.11, the Chief Medical Officer of the USS Eagle, Lt. Commander MacGowan performed a medical examination of Tal. The results showed that his recovery was ahead of schedual. He was told he could now use mechanical leg and lower back braces to walk.

On 238506.17 when the entire crew took shore leave on Risa, Tal took the time to attend the Kineri Recovery Hospital. He spent his entire leave taking physio therapy sessions, nerve regeneration treatments and muscle reconditioning therapy.

Physiological Profile

Due to his early years spent growing up in an extremely harsh primative warrior culture Tal has almost no social skills. He tends to avoid people and can be as emotionless as a Vulcan. This has resulted in his being a loner by nature and upbringing as he never learned to mix or socialize with others.

Every moment of every day of his childhood he was alone, guarding his own back. Because of this his mind set is definitely not that of a typical Andorian. On duty or when faced with danger he thrives but, off duty he makes no effort to mix, make friends or blend in.

This is also reflected in his off duty activities which are usually combat oriented or invole him being alone. His imagination is exceptionally well developed and he has become interested in tales of mythic heroes, creatures and adventure.

Qualifications and Specialties

Tal is considered an expert on many forms of primitive combat. This is mostly due to his childhood on Ten-nok VII. Here he spent all his time training with a wide variety of hand held weapons and various types of missle weapons as well.

Tal is also an exceptionally well trained hand to hand combat expert. While he had learned a little about this form of combat while still living on Ten-nok VII it was only after he enrolled at the Academy that he trully started to excel at it. He spent a large amount of his free time learning a number of different styles.

Tal also took a lot of extreme survival training. Hostile environments and adverse planetary conditions being one of his interests at the Academy.

Due to his early up bringing Tal had to learn to speak his own language of Andorian. They also instructed him in the common language of the Federation. At the Academy he learned more languages and found he had a knack for picking them up fairly fast. Tal can speak and read, Federation common, Andorian, Klingon, Cardassian, Tellerite, Romulan, Ferengi and all 6 dialects of Ten-nok VII the planet he was raised on.

Interests

Hobbies

Tal has a great fondness for primitive weapons. He has a large number of them that he has collected and has mastered many as well. These include the Andorian Ushann-tor, Andorian Chaka, Andorian Flabbjellah, Klingon Bat'leth, Ten-nokian Battlestave, Ten-nokian Hornbow as well as many other types of knives, swords, spears, bows, throwing sticks, bolo's, etc.

Tal also has a deep respect for and love of hand to hand combat. He spent most of his free time back at the Academy learning as many different styles as he could from a number of races and cultures. He has mastered a couple and is familiar was a large number of others.

Sports

As a child on Ten-nok, Tal was never exposed to sports but his every day struggle to survive in a primative warrior culture gave him an incredible competetive spirit. While he does not enjoy watching others compete, he does enjoy the challenge of competeing himself.

While at the Academy, Tal took the time to compete in various athletic events. These ranged from various types of track and field events to running marathons, martal arts tournaments to believe it or not beach vollyball.

Over the 4 years he spent at the Academy Tal was able to win an impressive number of awards. Most of these are for track and field and martial arts competitions. However Tal and his room mate Jason Stone also have the distinct pleasure of being undefeated at beach vollyball.

Books

It was while Tal was at the Academy that he first became exposed to and developed such a driveing interest in legends, myths and heroes. His room mate Jason Stone finally talked him into trying them out in exchange for his help with those class's with which Tal was experienceing some difficulty. Since then he has collected many of these stories and will sometimes spend his holodeck time reliveing these adventures.

Food

Tal will eat just about anything. He has no real preference. His survival training at the academy plus his warrior training as a child means he could eat and survive on any thing edible that he might encounter.

Tal's Life

In the Beginning

Tal's earliest memory is of pain. Not suprising since he grew up as the only Andorian on the primative world of Ten-nok VII amid constantly waring city states. His training to be a warrior was harsh, brutal and violent. His only memories are of always living in the training barracks. Alone, an outsider, the stranger, with no friends, constant fights to survive and death an every day possibility.

The Ten-nokians were as different from him as you could get. They have dark crimson skin, are stocky with black hair and black eyes and are on average about 5'8" in height.

Rescue??

A Tellerite freighter, the TL Bosn'hogt had drifted off course. When they reached Ten-nok VII they did a routine scan of the planet to see if it might be a possible trading location. Scans revealed that the natives were far too primative and had nothing of any value.

However the scans had detected a single Andorian life sign. At first the Captain was going to just ignor it and leave orbit, but when it was brought to his attention that the Andorian life sign was inside one of the larger walled cities he knew he had to do something.

They waited till night had fallen, then waited even longer till it appeared like the Andorian was alone before transporting him aboard. It was fairly late before the chance came to beam him aboard.

Once they did the Captain almost wished they had not bothered after all. The Andorian went wild, strikeing out with fists and feet. Moveing so fast that it was almost impossible to stop him. They finally had to stun him with repeated phaser blasts before they were able to stop the fight.

The Captain ordered the Andorian secured in one of the smaller cargo holds.

First Time in Space

Prior to being secured and after the ships doctor had first treated those crewmen injured by him, Tal underwent a complete, altho rather speedy medical examination. This revealed that he was only about 14 or 15 years old. It also revealed that he had a number of older injuries, some of them had reopened.

He was treated and the Captain informed of his condition. Last thing the Captain wanted was an Andorian on board, especially some wild child that was obviously going to be more trouble than he was worth. Still it was also obvious they could not just return him to the planet. Not considering that was were most of his injuries had been caused.

Tal was kept secured, but treated well. It became obvious that he did not understood a word of Andorian, Federation common or any other civilized language that any of the crew tried on him.

Pirates

About half way through the trip to Andor the freighter was attacked and boarded by pirates. During this time the cargo hold containing Tal was opened by the pirates. Big mistake. Tal had managed to learn just enough Tellerite and Federation common to understand what was going on.

Tal attacked the pirate that opened his door. After defeating him, Tal took his weapons and went looking for more. He was able to help turn the tide in the favour of the Tellerite crew. This enabled them to defeat the pirates and eventually drive them off when help arrived.

The Captain was so grateful that once Tal had made it understood that he would not attack any of the crew again he was allowed to roam the ship at will. By the end of the trip he had explored the entire craft, improved his command of both Tellerite and Federation common as well as learning a few simple things about machines and tools.

Comeing Home

Finally the TL Bosn'hogt arrived in orbit around Andor. They contacted the authorities and beamed Tal down to the surface. Once on the surface Tal was stunned. Everywhere he looked their were others who looked just like him. He saw others of his race for the first time.

He cooperated with them and was able to speak with them in crazy mix of halting Tellerite and Federation common. Words he had learned while aboard the freighter.

One of the first things they did was to take Tal for extensive genetic and DNA testing to find out which clan and hopefully which family he belonged to. They were a little suprised by the results. He was definately 100% Andorian but their were no records that matched his. It was also discovered that his reproductive systems were radically different from that of other male Andorians.

Stunned by this discovery, Tal was secured at their main research facility. He was told this was so they could maximize his learning. Since then he has learned this was incorrect. It seems that the best scientists on Andor and some brought in from the Federation were actually studying him. Among these was a Dr. Gabriel who recommended that Tal be encouraged to join Star Fleet.

With no clan or family connections on Andor and no clan or family wishing to claim him he had no future on his own homeworld. The adventure of Star Fleet was an easy sell for the innocent young man.

He worked hard, studyed long hours and took the test. He was informed that he had passed and that he would be leaveing shortly for Earth.

Earth

Tal was shipped off to the Academy early in the hopes that the extra time on Earth would make things easier for him once he started school. It also gave him time to work on his technical skills. Arrangements had been made for him to take some basic engineering training classes as well as a few courses to familiarize him with the planet and it's people.

While taking these classes Tal learned about all the various types and styles of martial arts available to learn. He changed his Earth Culture class for an introduction to martial arts class.

Tal enjoyed the martial arts class so much that he checked to find out what classes might be available for him to take once he started at the Academy. Disappointed by the limited choices available to him Tal inquired into the chances of his being able to take martial arts classes after hours, off campus. He was told that as long as he maintained a better than passing grade in all his offical classes it would be OK.

Due to the extra classes that Tal picked up he never did spend any time exploreing San Fransisco. The only contact he had with any humans was in the various classes that he was taking. Even then Tal seldom talked to any of them.

Academy Life

Once it was time for Tal to start his classes at the Academy, Tal transfered his few meager possessions over to his new room in the dorm. From the start Tal stood out. His total lack of social skills and his childhood training made it impossible for him to blend in and make friends.

Fortunately others had taken Tal's lack of social skills into consideration when they picked his room mate. He ended up with a human, Jason Stone who was a very cheerful Australian with blonde wavy hair, a surfers tan, sparkling blue eye's and a friendly easy going manner. Everyone liked him, especially the girls. He was a little wild, loved to surf, swim and sail.

It was only because of Jason that Tal learned about sports, track and field, surfing and beach vollyball. Between these activities and his classes both on and off the Academy grounds it's any wonder Tal found any time to sleep.

By his 3rd year at the Academy Tal had added competeing in various martial arts as well as some track and field events. His favourite was running marathons.

Tal had also gained something of a reputaion as well by this time. Well actually it was both him and his room mate Jason. They were undefeated at beach vollyball. Not only that but they also had the distinct pleasure of being the kings of practical jokes. It had resulted in both of them haveing to visit the Dean's office on a number of occassions.

Now true it was always Jason who dreamed up the pranks. And it was also true that he always had to talk Tal into being his assistant, but it's also true that in most cases it was not a very hard sell. You see, Jason was Tal's very first friend.

They made a strange pair, exact opposites in personality but they were both extremely competetive, very athletic, with a driving thirst for knowledge, adventure and danger.

By the time the 4th year was drawing to a close they were still undefeated at beach vollyball.

USS Corona

Both Tal and Jason ended up doing their cadet cruise aboard the USS Corona which is a Defiant class vessel. As is typical of most cadet cruises it was fairly uneventful. One day is much like another. The daily routine seldom changeing except for the occasional emergency drill.

It's no suprise that in this environment it was only a matter of time till the boredom sparked a series of mild pranks. Pranks that slowly increased in frequency and complexity. Lt. Toni Turner, the first officer was at first just mildly annoyed by these anticts but this quickly changed. Maybe it had something to do with the sonic showers being reprogramed to spew out green goo or it could have been the amazingly loud bugle call to charge that was programed in to replace the mild buzzing sound connected to the computer wake up system. Regardless of which stunt caused it, the pranks were no long considered amuseing.

By the end of the cruise it came as no suprise to anyone when upon promotion to Ensign that Tal Tel-ar was assigned to the USS Triumphant, a Defiant class vessel operateing on the edge of the Ithassa region and Ensign Jason Stone was assigned to the USS Damascus a Akira class ship which was operateing in the opposite direction, out past the Ferengi.

Deep Space 17

Ensign Tel-ar arrived at Deep Space 17 while the USS Triumphant was out on patrol. He was assigned to temporary quarters and tried to settle into life on the station while waiting. Unfortunately their was not much on the station that Tal found interesting. He had no use for any of the nightclubs.

Other than spending most of every day in the gym either working out or trying to find someone willing to spar with him Tal found he had time on his hands. Practical jokes were Jason's means of dealing with boredom, well that and girls. Neither really interested Tal, at least not as much as they did when he was with Jason.

Out of boredom Tal explored the station. He figured it might be a good idea to get a feel for the place. As usual his natural curiosity and drive to learn added to his competetive spirit and love of danger lead him into trouble.

While exploreing the station Tal discovered a loud, dingy bar called the Black Jandorvak tucked away at the bottom of the station. It reminded him of places that he had visited back on earth. Tal had found they were always good spots to find a fight. Best of all it usually did not take much and the seedy individuals who hung out in these places usually did not fight by any rules. Well only one rule, anything goes which was ok with Tal.

After being involved in a particlarly large fight that had spilled out of the bar into the station proper Tal was taken to a holding cell where he remained till the USS Triumphant returned. At this time the first officer of the Triumphant, a Lt. Commander Ventu was informed that she could collect their newest officer from the station security.

USS Triumphant

So far his career with Starfleet has been less than stellar with 4 infractions against regulations at Deep Space 17 involveing being in an establishment that had been posted off limits to starfleet personel and fighting in the same establishment, the Black Jendorvak.

Now that he was one of the crew he found that he was enjoying the added workload of being aboard a Defiant class vessel. The challenges and small crew made for a friendlier crew, not that Tal made any friends. He avoided them and took double shifts with a almost constant frequency.

It was only when they were assigned to visit the FTU base Asterospolis that Tal started to stand out. They were beamed down in an out of the way location to try and learn a little more about the base and the FTU while Captain Rhys Bejain would be involved in diplomatic talks with a represetative from the FTU.

It did not take long before everything started to go wrong. Lt. Commander Ventu was injured in crossfire within a few hours of their arrival. Tal was able to put down enough covering fire that the team was able to beam back to the ship, but when they arrived it was to discover that the person they had come to see was dead.

Captain Bejain immediately ordered the ship to lift off and once they were back in orbit they were contacted and informed that the Wheeler Colony was going to be attacked by a renegade FTU Captain. By pushing the Triumphants warp drive they were able to arrive in time to stop the attack but just as quickly learned it had been a double fake.

They faced 2 FTU vessels. One captained by the woman who had tipped them off to the attack and her personnel enemy, the other FTU captain. It seems the attack had been sanctioned by certain factions with in the FTU.

In the ensueing battle the Triumphant was badly damaged and then boarded by the larger of the 2 FTU vessels. Tal was able to distingushed himself while fighting off boarders, even managed to fight on after being severly injured.

The Triumphants Chief of Security, Lt. Kassa Quay noted on his service record that he was an excellent office while on duty, altho he had a tendancy to question orders from superior officers includeing the Captain. Off duty he was trouble. Every time they docked at Deep Space 17, and Tal was off duty he would head straight for the Black Jendorvak hunting a fight.

It got to the point where Tal was not allowed on the station in the hopes that would keep him out of trouble. He would usually get reprimanded and assigned extra duties assisting the Chief Engineer, Lt. Quinn Reynolds. This turned out to be a poor excuse for a punishment as Tal actually enjoyed the extra work and would volunteer for the dirtyest jobs.

When the Captain was reasssigned to a diplomatic post, the USS Triumphant was taken out of service and decommissioned. At this time Tal requested to be allowed to return to Starfleet Academy in order to take addition classes and major in Communications and Operations.

Back to the Academy

With the USS Triumphant now decommisioned and the crew awaiting reassignment Tal submitted a request to return to Starfleet Academy and take some additional training. His request included a breakdown of the courses and major he wished to take.

Tal figured that since he had now served on 2 different Defiant class vessels, ships that operated with minimal crews who often had to sub for other officers in other departments that he needed to increase his skill base so as to be able to handle some of the other jobs better.

Beside he was looking forward to attending the Academy again. He also wished to get in some more off campus martial arts training.

While Tal enjoyed being back, it was not the same. He stayed to himself, avoided others and concentrated on his studies. With out Jason to drag him out and con him into joining in on one crazy hairbrained scheme after another life at the Academy was anything but what he remembered.

USS Trafalgar

When Tal was finished at the Academy he was promoted to Lt. jg. and assigned to the USS Trafalgar, a Akira class vessel as a tactical officer. The Trafalgar was assigned to patrol space near the Ferengi.

Their first mission was rather routine, but their second had them pitted against a renegade Cardassian who had been outlawed by his people. It took them a few weeks to track him down and force a confrontation.

They succeeded in disableing his vessel and took him into custody along with his crew. After returning him to Cardassia Prime for trial the Trafalgar stopped at Deep Space 9 to allow it's crew time to enjoy leave while the ship underwent some repairs.

Bajor

It was dureing this time that Tal and Jason had a chance to take some leave time together. They spent it on Bajor and had a great time getting cought up on everything that had happened to them in the last few years.

They spent part of it camping, mountain climbing, hang glideing and trying to surf the waves off the southern coastline. The rest of the time was spent aboard Deep Space 9 at Quarks. Well actually they spent the start and end of their vacation at Quarks.

At the end of their vacation Tal was the victem of another of Jason's amazing pranks. OK, not exactly the victem. Jason had somehow rigged the Daboo game in Quarks to pop out holographic snakes and bugs. It startled the players and almost caused a panic. The device that was used to creat the holograms was rented useing Tal's identity. Of coarse Odo was able to eventual prove that Tal was innocent. Of coarse by that time Jason had already left the station and returned to his ship.

Back to the USS Trafalgar

Once back aboard the USS Trafalgar, Tal resumed his duties. He was soon assigned as part of an away team that beamed down to To'Mato III. The current government had requested help to deal with a group of terrorists.

They were able to finally stop the terroritsts but they lost 3 security officers in the process. It was also revealed that the terrorists were all younger members of the older noble families.

When it was made known that they would be forced to stand trial for their crimes. Crimes that carried a penalty of death if they were found guilty, open warfare exploded. In the ensueing weeks additional security staff as well as Starfleet Marines were brought in to help. The capitol sustained massive damage and the casulties continued to stack up.

In a final explosive confrontation most of the government troops and rebels were killed. The USS Trafalgar was one of 3 Federation vessels that remained for close to a year while they assisted in the clean up.

Dureing this time their were numerous cases of industrial, intelligence and government sabatoge, random bombings and other acts of sedition. Tal assisted both the government and Federation agents in tracking down and arresting those responsible. He was so intriged with this task and all the intriging complexities that after the end of the mission Tal contacted Starfleet and requested to return to the Academy and take the Intelligence major.

Academy again

This time when Tal arrived at the Academy he stayed off campus near the Dojo where he would be doing most of his martial arts training while here. He hope that this way he would not have to deal with any of the constant distractions that the cadets seemed to constantly create. It would also simplify things, or at least he hoped so.

As the year progressed Tal found that as with so many other things in life, the intelligence field was not all it was cracked up to be. Now true he found the classes interesting, but they also did not interest him as much as his off campus classes did.

By the end of the year when Tal was prepareing for his next tour he did not even hesitate when asked if he wanted to transfer to the intelligence field. The answer was no. He had already requested a posting as a security officer.

USS Constitution-B

Tal had not been with the crew long before they were assigned to assist the crew of the USS Challenger with a joint mission against the Bodai Shin. It was at this time that he came into contact with Lt. Commander Turner who had been his first officer during his cadet cruise. It was dureing the course of this mission Tal was loaned to the Challenger. While on the ship he overheard some information that indicated that the Challengers Captain T'Pen had information that had not been shared with his own captain.

In direct violation of Starfleet regulations Tal used the skills he had learned at the Academy to break the Challengers Captain's personnel files. He then copied those files and was able to bypass the Challengers security network and tight beam them to Captain Taboo's personnel files aboard the Constitution-B.

Prior to being captured by Major West Tal erased all proof of what he had done. Then he managed to break the security protocols controlling the brig. After makeing a few slight adjustments he again erased all proof of what he had done then waited patiently while bringing up a false program showing naked exotic dancers performing.

When confronted by Major Heath and threatened with charges of treason, Tal responded that he served his Captain even if that meant loss of career, position and life. He was then escorted to the brig and secured.

Later when the Major came to see him, he asked if Tal had rethought his position and would now cooperate. Tal looked up from where he sat calmly leaning against the cell's back wall and replied, this is not the first time I've been locked up. All things considered this place is almost nicer than my quarters.

With the Federation ships about to confront the Bodai Shin, Major Heath ordered Tal released but before his crew could comply Tal smiled, then tapped his rank insignia. The cell was deactivated and Tal walked out. He informed the Major that next time his security people should search their prisoners better. Then he was beamed back to the Constitution-B.

At the completion of this mission Tal was asked to transfer to the USS Eagle by Captain Taboo who was also being transfered to the same ship. Tal considered the offer and then accepted.

Starbase 118

While on Starbase 118 awaiting transfer to the USS Eagle from the USS Constitution-B Tal became involved with some criminals who tried to recruit him into their organization. They had not realized that he was a starfleet officer at the time. He was instrumental in the leader being arrested, an Orion called Bo'nak, same name as the off limits bar that Tal had been in when it all started.

As a result of this he was present when a large amount of illegal goods were found. One of those being the genetically created slave girl now called Koriander. She was bonded to Tal and calls him master. After a week long examination by station medical and scientific staff it was determined that she was a mix of 7 different DNA types.

However her genetic matrix was unstable and seemed to have been designed with that flaw in mind. She needed to absorb tiny samples of the genetic material belonging to the one who had awoken her from her cryogenic transport chamber.

Starfleet brought in an expert, Dr. Gabriel who after examining the data felt that she should be allowed to join Tal on the USS Eagle. He also joined the crew to observe and obtain further data regarding her continued genetic development.

USS Eagle

Their first mission, once the initial shakedown cruise was completed, was to police the sector surrounding Starbase 118. Illegal activity, including piracy and other attacks upon commercial vessels, had been on the rise. Due to the search of various freighters that seemed to be acting in a questionable manner, Captain Taboo checked with Starfleet Intelligence and found that all the information seemed to be pointing towards Cart'hen III as a possible central location for all the illegal activity plaguing the sector.

As a result of this information Captain Taboo selected a choice team to undertake an undercover mission on the surface of Cart'hen III. This team would be led by his First Officer Lt. Commander Victoria Yladro. While on the planets surface a major upheaval took place within the government of the city of Mith. The leader of their council of 11, a suspected criminal by the name of Gavik, was assassinated.

This was the same individual that the Eagle's away team had went undercover as mercs to arrest for questioning. Tal had left the rest of the team in a bar to follow a lead from a local. Dar was a exotic dancer from the bar but she had admitted to him that she might be able to point them in the right direction. While Tal was following her lead into the city he was arrested by members of the city Enforcers, a quasi-police force and charged with the crime.

The Enforcers had video proof of Tal's involvement and signed statements from five eye witnesses that claimed he forced his way into a high security area useing explosives. Once inside he opened fire and killed six body guards. Then he confronted Gavik before shooting him repeatedly in a ruthless display of overkill.

Found guilty and sentenced to death, Tal was beaten almost to death. Only a last minute rescue mission under the command of Lt. Commander Keely with the assistance of a local guide named Dar and mystery woman Lady Avalia was successful. The away team was then rescued by LtCmd Ben Hunnicutt piloting an Aero-Wing.

Enroute to the Eagle, Lt. Arista Devar provided medical care to Tel-ar. After returning to the ship, Tal underwent 4 hours of emergency surgery. The guide, Dar, was given passage off world in return for her assistance.

The USS Eagle left orbit and set a return course for Starbase 118. While at the Station Tal underwent extensive surgery. At the end he was placed in a medical hover chair. He was told that the prognosis was good but that it would be a while before he could start to walk again useing medical leg and lower back braces.

It was at this time that he was promoted to Chief of Security. While he was buzy getting use to his new post on the ship as well as living in the chair other members of the crew includeing Koriander returned to Cart'hen III. Once they returned the Captain informed them that they would be going to Risa. While their the entire crew would be going on shore leave.

While the ship was on route to Risa, Tal went to visit sickbay. While here Lt. Commander MacGowan, the Chief Medical Officer did a routine examination to see how Tal was comeing with his recovery. The results of these tests showed that Tal was farther along on his recovery than expected. She advised him that he could now start useing a back brace and start takeing physio therapy sessions.

It was after this but before they arrived at Risa that they experienced a strange warp drive malfuntion while Tal was in charge of the bridge. The ship sped up and seemed on the verge of shaking apart as time became unstable around them. However Captain Taboo ordered a extrememly radical solution that resulted in them returning in time to before the warp drive malfuntion occured.

The rest of the trip to Risa was fairly uneventful.

Risa

While the rest of the crew were enjoying leave on Risa, Tal took the time to attend the Kineri Recovery Hospital. Also on Risa. He spent his entire leave taking physio therapy sessions, nerve regeneration treatments and muscle reconditioning therapy.

At the end of the week when Tal was getting ready to pack and leave Rise to return to the Eagle, his old friend Jason Stone managed to plan and execute a rather elaborate prank from his posting at the diplomatic embassy on Cardassia Prime. It involved 3 actors who pretended to be Risan police officers and a pair of extremely seductive twins who looked to be underage.

Back to the USS Eagle and a strange gift

Upon arriveing back on board the Eagle Tal learned that his old friend Lt. Jason Stone had another suprise for him. It was a Mazon, Camileo Monkey. They are a protected species and all off world specimens have to be registered and approved by the Mazon government. They are extremely intelligent and make great pets. It is a strange gray colored monkey which can change color to blend into it's environment when it wants. It has large green eye's with small delecate fingers. It has fingers on it's hands and feet and a long prehensil tail that looked to be at least 3 feet long. It is about the same length as it's whole body from head to foot. It looks like it might weight 20, maybe 25 lbs and it's arms and legs were easily longer than expected.

Through the Looking Glass??

Tal and the rest of the crew of the USS Eagle were swept through into the mirror universe as a result of a warp engine anomalie that occured while testing the vessels maximum speed. Upon arrival they crashed into the Evangeline.

This resulted in Tal being injured and his back brace becomeing damaged. His injureies were fairly sever and upon recovery he was confined to his hover chair again. It was shortly after this that Tal led a number of his security staff in a raid on their own engineering chamber. A few stowaways from the Evangeline had taken control of main engineering. Dureing the assult Tal's hover chair was totally destroyed. As a result he had to rely on first 2 members of his security team to carry him around.

The best that the engineering department could do was to replicate an antique wheel chair for his use. He was still useing this chair when they returned to their original universe.

Back to our Reality

Once back in there own reality Tal visited engineering in the hopes that his back brace could be repaired. Lt. Chalmers informed him that Ensign Elina Rose Kincade had been assigned the task of repairing his back brace. Their first meeting was not very friendly. They seemed to clash but she informed him that as soon as she had it repaired to her satisfaction she would contact him.

Very soon after that she arrived unexpectedly at his quarters with the repaired back brace. She was not prepared for what she saw when the door opened. Tal had come straight from the shower useing a walker. He excused himself to grab a wrap that he used to cover up. Sparks seemed to fly and after she had verified that the brace was indeed working properly she asked Tal out for a drink.

They met the next evening in the Eagle's Nest after she was promoted to Lt. jg. and Tal was made second officer. They talked, more sparks flew and they ended up first in her quarters, then on holodeck 3 where they ended up spending the night. While nothing physical happened, there were lots of sparks and they decieded to spend there shore leave together in order to discover just what they were feeling.

Visiting Cardassia Prime

Tal borrowed a shuttle craft and with Lt. jg. Elina Rose Kincade travelled to Cardassia Prime where they spent the duration of their shore leave. While there Tal was able to spend some time with his best friend and room mate from the Academy Lt. Jason Stone.

As for Tal and Elina Kincaide. They developed a better understanding for each other, however both tended to try and keep the other at arms lengths. This fighting the attraction they were both feeling seemed to cause more harm and once they left Cardassia they maintained a strained silence on the return flight to the Eagle.

Returning to the Trinity Sector

The trip from Bajor to the Trinity Sector was a 4 week trip. After a few days with no contact from Lt. jg. Elina Rose Kincade, Tal figured that she had changed her mind and decieded not to pursue a relationship with him.

So he was extremely suprised when she showed up at his quarters at 0248 hours in the morning. She was wearing a robe and one of those skimpy things human females wear to bed. They talked, kissed, then she started crying and Tal carried her to the bed where he held her till she fell asleep in his arms.

Due to Elina haveing bad memories of a lost love they have been takeing things slow but they still spent most of the trip together when off duty.

In fact the next night after she fell asleep in his arms they both went to the Eagle's Nest and revealed to the crew at large that they were a couple.
