T'Katt was raised primarily with his mother on Vulcan experiencing many social obstacles such as bigotry and other forms of criticisms. As a child T'Katt would experience extreme fits of emotion both positive and negative and he struggled greatly to even remotely achieve the kind of control the Vulcan peoples around him had. He spent the next six years with his father on the Klingon home world Qo'noS (Kronos). Here he experienced similar forms of adversities due to his genetic heritage though he found quickly that his fits of rage often brought him more respect within this society. At the age of fourteen he took part in the Klingong Rite of Ascension with his fathers clan.

T'Katt left Kronos at eighteen and wondered from location to location preforming menial jobs truly lost about himself, his upbringing even with his rite's preformed had left him feeling uncertain about himself and his place in life. His mother had wanted him to pursue the arts of science while his father of course the arts of war; it's wasn't until he got caught in a cargo ship jacking and was forced into a position where he had to help a medical team that he came to the realization that led him down his current path. He realized that he enjoyed traveling and meeting new peoples and that the diligence and hard work of a medical team was the only reason he was alive, from that moment he was set on joining Starfleet medical.

His experience at the academy was fairly standard, he took a standard course set up and only branched out a few times in his studies. In truth his lack of confidence has played a role in his decisions since joining the academy as he quickly found the medical profession was far greater an undertaking than he had previously believed. He focused mostly on subjects in the Division of Health Sciences and Starfleet Command School but gave each course from each division he took considerable study, often spending days in the library and reading data pads. In addition to the survival training and required courses he took Basic Marine Training as he felt he might not excel well enough in the field of medicine and figured forms of security, roles in which you defend others, would make a good fall back. Though he still felt unaccomplished compared to his peers he graduated in every category and earned his Doctorate Medical Degree.

During his time at the academy T'Katt put a lot of study into his native culture's as well as humanities. Through his studies T'Katt has developed his own Code so to speak incorporating lessons and techniques from all three. He believes that proper control over ones emotions come in the form of being able to express each one in a controlled manor, if happy be happy but don't allow it to distract you from the important details of life same with anger and all other emotions. In truth his Code is new even to himself and as he practices it's ideals and learns more about the cultures of the galaxy he is constantly analyzing it and adjusting, extending, and in every other way developing it to perfection.
