There are multitudinous science labs on the Oracle Class, most of which are located in the sensor module in the ventral section of the ship. Some are non-specific labs that can be easily modified for various scientific purposes, including any of the three main branches of the sciences. Labs can also be configured for experiments. Due to the nature of the mission profile of the class, these labs are well-equipped, and some labs have been built with reinforced structural integrity fields in order to cater for experiments of a dangerous nature.
Many of the labs are set up for the use of specific branches of the science department, including exobiology, xenology, history and anthropology, sociology, astrophysics, geology, quantum physics and more. The botany department includes a fully functional arboretum and hydroponics bay, which may additionally be used as a source of organic food for long-term missions.
