Amity Mission Archive

Writing time aboard Amity Outpost is divided into two major blocks: missions and shore leave. Missions involve one or more central objectives and generally take place on Amity and associated the outpost, ships, planets, etc. Missions are generally six weeks in length, though this may vary!

Between each mission, the Amity crew has about two to three weeks of shore leave, though again this may vary. During shore leave, there is no central plot and no general objective (or at most, a low-key "routine" mission that stays in the background) and is instead a great time for character development, individual character subplots, and smaller "B-plot" type stories going all at once.

To use on-screen Trek examples, missions are plot-focused stories like "The Best of Both Worlds" (TNG), "Children of Time" (DS9), and "Timeless" (VOY). Shore leaves are akin to character-focused episodes like "Family" (TNG), "You Are Cordially Invited" (DS9), and "Someone to Watch Over Me" (VOY).

Year 1 (2398-2399)

Amicitia Vera Illuminat 1x01 - Prologue: Stardate 239809 Newly designated Federation Ambassador Rivi Vataix arrives aboard Amity Outpost to take charge of the Federation’s latest diplomatic outreach to the Delta Quadrant. The USS Thor is tasked with transporting the ambassador and her staff to the outpost.

Providence 1x02 - Mission 1: Stardate 239810-239811 In their first Diplomatic Mission, the crew of Amity Outpost, under the direction of Chief of Mission Rivi Vataix, made contact with the Hawlat. A nomadic culture, who travel the stars following a large herd of space-borne creatures they refer to as “Angels”, the Hawlat are deeply religious and devoted to the creatures. Following some run-ins with local mining operations, safety concerns are raised for both the creatures and for the miners that threaten to spiral into a diplomatic situation.

103 1x03 - Shore Leave: Stardate 239812 TBA

An Eye for an Eye 1x04 - Mission 2: Stardate 239901-239902 Amity faces a diplomatic crisis when word reaches the public that the widely-despised Vidiians have been invited to participate in a Federation-hosted scientific exhibition. Concurrently, the Outpost prepares to host the Antarian Class Rally - a high-speed race with equally-high tensions amongst the participants. While trying to work out a mutually-agreeable solution, a series of emergencies rock the station and everyone's capabilities are pushed to the limit.

Means to an End 1x05 - Shore Leave: Stardate 239903-239905 TBA

House of Mirrors 1x06 - Mission 3: Stardate 239906-239907 Amity's resident Defiant Class vessel, the USS Independence-B becomes trapped within a mysterious spatial anomaly. The crew must scramble to repair the ship and escape the gravity well they have found themselves mired in - only they are not alone within the 'sinkhole'. Meanwhile, the USS Kitty Hawk - under the command of Captain Roshanara Rahman - undertakes a rescue operation that will prove unexpectedly divisive.

Pieces 1x07 - Shore Leave: Stardate 239907-239909 Recovery and Discovery

Protocols 1x08 - Mission 4: Stardate 239909-239910 A joint colony-building mission between three Betazoid Noble Houses, Amity Outpost, and the USS Kitty Hawk, takes a sudden turn when they learn their destination world is not only inhabited by sentient-like bacteria, but that it has been deemed a dangerous failed experiment by the Trenvonn. An isolationist species dedicated to the scientific pursuit of enlightenment, the Trenvonn warn that the planet is infected by a deadly plague and cut off the crews on the surface, threatening their lives and providing a new diplomatic challenge for those in orbit.

109 1x09 - Shore Leave: Stardate 239910-239911 TBA

Nostalgia 1x10 - Mission 5: Stardate 239912 Nearing the end of 2399, a promotion party for the newly-pipped Commander Wil Ukinix winds up in an attempted time-napping. On Betazed, the newly-restored Ninth House faces several logistical issues, including a revelation regarding misappropriation of technology from within the House's administration.

111 1x11 - Shore Leave: Stardate 239912-240001 TBA

Year 2 (2400)

Worthy Prey 2x01 - Mission 6: Stardate 240001-24002 When a large group of Hirogen vessels are detected near Amity Outpost, Ambassador Rivi Vataix invites the Hirogen tribes to the station in the hopes of negotiating a lasting peace.

202 2x02 - Shore Leave: Stardate 234003-240004 TBA

Dark Roses 2x03 - Mission 7: Stardate 240005-240007 When a confluence of missing persons, strange newcomers, and unusual spatial phenomena all coincide, the Diplomatic Corps Staff and Starfleet Crew of Amity Outpost must work together to figure out what dark reality has begun to permeate their own.

It's Always Sunny in the Delta Quadrant 2x05 - Mission 8: Stardate 240009-240011 Wil and Robin offend an entire planet.

Toxicity 2x07: Stardate 240012-240101 A toxic, malfunctioning Malon freighter is on a collision course with Idrustix, the Betazoid colony in the Delta Quadrant.

Frontier Day 3x04: Stardate 240105 - 240108 An attempted intrusion within Amity Outpost's Science and Research Center plunges the crew into a conspiracy that threatens the very future of the Federation itself.

Time Gone By 3x06: Stardate 240111 - Present 41 years after the death of Wil Ukinix, Robin Hopper reunites the crew and descendants of Amity Outpost to save the Federation as it battles a losing war against the Lattice Alliance.
