||Very close (Spouse)
||During his time posted near Bajor, he met his future wife, Sinya – a Bajoran religious scholar spending the final year of her studies aboard the station in order to observe and write about the Bajoran Wormhole. Surprised to share many of their most foundational values, the two bonded quickly and were married in 2392. Sinya affectionately calls Gabriel "Chesei" -- the Bajoran word for sweetheart.
||Very close (Child)
||Gabriel and Sinya's Daughter, Angelita, is currently seven years old and attends lives with her mother on DS224. It was difficult for Gabriel to say goodbye to her on the day he transferred to the USS Artemis, but he's grateful that he gets to serve in an area close to home and will be able to see her regularly.
|The Osuna Family
||Osuna is close with both of his parents and all of his siblings, particularly his father, Kenneth, and his older brother, Daniel.
||Colleagues (Former CO)
||While Gabriel wouldn't consider himself close to Rainier, he was pleasantly surprised to hear that she had recommended him for the position of Chief Security Officer aboard the USS Artemis-A when it began its service in the Borderlands.
||Colleagues (Current CO)
||Just getting to know his new CO, he's so far been impressed by her calm and collected attitude - as well as her apparent taste for Hasperat.
||Colleagues / Friends?
||Despite their initial meeting involving hand-to-hand combat and a phaser pistol, the two Department Heads quickly shrugged off the circumstances and may be on a fast-track to friendship.
||Gabriel is conscious of Silveira's role aboard the Artemis and is dedicated to ensuring Security and Tactical don't become 'muddled' departments. So far, the two have gotten along well.
||Working together in preparation for the Artemis' first mission on Da'al, Osuna was impressed with Yellir's attention to detail and motivation. He's looking forward to getting to know her better.
||Osuna's current approach to Morgan? Avoid. The future there is uncertain - but he's wary of the Lieutenant's questionable 'bedside manner'.

Gabriel grew up, second-youngest in a brood of six, in Caloocan, Philippines. His mother worked as an acute care surgeon at the local hospital and his father worked as a civilian security consultant with the Federation Diplomatic Corps
, traveling frequently for work abroad at various embassies and outposts. When he returned, Gabriel’s father would often regale the children with stories of other worlds and adventures (some true, some embellished) around the dinner table.
When he was sixteen, Gabriel pestered his dad to allow him to come along on one of his business trips - overseeing security upgrades to the Federation Embassy on Bajor. His father eventually relented, but what should have been a fairly quiet trip would prove quite eventful. While on-site, the Embassy underwent a small-scale terrorist action. Gabriel found himself caught up in the action, helping his father with evacuation procedures and perimeter security. This would prove to be a defining moment for the boy – who knew, from that moment onward, that he wanted to pursue a career in security and defense, keeping others safe from harm.
Career & Starfleet
After completing high school, Gabriel initially applied for a civilian security position with the FDC. He spent the next nine years working in various embassies throughout the Alpha and Beta Quadrants as a security consultant, ensuring that proper capacities and competencies were developed and implemented. Over time, he began to feel the work was becoming ‘rote’ and, after a conversation with his parents, was convinced that he could do more good with a Starfleet Commission.
Accepted to the Academy in 2387 and graduating in 2391, Ensign Osuna had the good fortune of spending two years posted to Deep Space 9 – near the world that had first inspired his move into Security and eventually Starfleet. They now have a seven year-old daughter, Angelita.
When Deep Space 224 was reactivated in 2397, Gabriel was among those selected to transfer to the new station in the Borderlands, due to his experience working Security aboard a station of significant strategic value, and his background in civilian security consulting. With the impending arrival of the USS Artemis-A, Osuna received reassignment orders to help oversee the successful transition of the ship to the Borderlands and ensure its security needs were met.
Gabriel remains close with his family and communicates with them as often as possible. He’s proud to continue the family tradition of serving his community and helping to defend the Federation and its people.
