Avander writes home regularly. His older brother is listed as MIA since around the time of Avander's birth, but he recently had a vision while passing through a Nexus-like event.

Avander was welcomed aboard his first posting, the USS Oumuamua where many of the officers became quick friends. He has most often been seen in the company of Jack Kessler, allegedly as part of their chapter of JOPA. That is, until Jack went MIA on a classified mission.

	Personal History

Avander was born and raised on Nova Hibernia, a colony world near the MS system, Bolarus Sector, not far from the Romulan Neutral Zone. His mother taught Semantic Arts at the preparatory academy in the main city (Lechia) and his father spent most of Avander's childhood off-world as a fabrication engineer (NCO) at Starfleet shipyards (Antares). As a boy, he often visited other parts of the Federation as his parents wanted him to get a broader exposure than colony life provided, but Nova Hibernia was always home.

Highlights of his youth included visits from his much older half-sister, Faeying, a counselor, who has spent much of the past few decades working with resettled refugees. Before Starfleet Academy, Avander was on the swim team, but did few extracurricular activities on campus (just two years of ballroom dance and one semester with the cryptographic society). At the Academy, Avander was an engaged student and doing well in classes (see: Transcript) (Major: Intelligence, Minor: Science (a smattering of classes in Genetics and Anthropology), but was less developed when it came to social interactions.

He's eager to please and keen on making his family proud by making a contribution wherever he serves, but may be more liable to get in his own way at this point--like a large-footed puppy who hasn't quite grown into his own.

Avander and his siblings are 1/4 El-Aurian on their mother's side. They can and do pass for full human in many cases, but still demonstrate similar characteristics common to full El-Aurians. (see: Medical File) Avander has particularly inherited a strong sense of interconnectedness, storytelling, and tradition from his family.

Religious Faith

While not exactly a religion, Avander and family members are adherents of Transcendimensionalism which is a set of beliefs in higher dimensions that influence and inspire us.

As his mother was an instructor at his prep school, Avander has a deep familiarity with some particular classics of literature and narratives, including, but not limited to:

• A narrow and inconsistent band of old Earth music (he knows hits from "Three Dog Night" but doesn't know who the "Beatles" are)

	Service History

First Mission: The fresh-faced Ensign barely arrived on the 'Oumuamua when he was assigned to help with a ship that had gone Missing_In_Action. Looking through potential wreckage with Dr. V'Len and Katsim Peri, they discovered some disturbing leads and then they report to the bridge as some the ship narrowly escaped an ambush by the Zet. After regrouping, Avander goes undercover with Wes Greaves, Dr. V'Len, and Kammus Corelli on to Port Coray. They get in a bar fight and discover a slave ring, liberating some children of the Federation. Back on the bridge, the crew review Tid Bitter (tm) a Zet social media service and, eventually, through a tenuous alliance with the UDP finds more wreckage and a few survivors.

No rest on leave:The Commodore brings the ship to Seytoxal for leave. Avander cannot confirm joining the Junior_Officer_Protection_Association at this time. He also joined other lower decks to check out Port Loray, a sister-station to Port Coray where they also get into a fight with a Constable. Avander worked with Gemma_Flinch to get an intelligence suite set up on deck E. He also joins the Commodore and Katsim for a welcome dinner for the new mission specialist, Etan Iljor. Avander doesn't get much R&R as he's conscripted to assist with an emergency rescue (of a pirate). Avander misses a swim as he and other officers are called to sickbay as they seem to have picked up a rare disease.

Back in Time: Avander helps figure out how they went back in time during the Intrepid Incident and how to get back. He also helped divert a pulsar from destroying a planet.

During shore leave, Avander was cleared of all concerns by DTI.

Nautili Returning to the Gamma Quadrant, Avander had a brief stint with the Conn as he and the crew tried to save the sector from a rogue Starfleet vessel and a star nursery.

Sandbox of Men. Spending most of the mission in subterrain caverns, Avander and others found evidence of Ancient Bajorans in the Gamma Quadrant and discovered a new Orb!

[REDACTED] After the above mission, Avander was recruited by [REDACTED] for [REDACTED]. Consequently, he is now 3 years older than his profile indicates.
