Categorization

I've been tagging NPC/PNPCs as Alumni. They technically served on board the ship, so it fits. I'm using a very generous definition too. That said, if they have a NPC category I'm ambivalent about keeping them there. I'd say PNPC's for sure, NPC's up to you. Ceciri (talk) 02:23, 29 March 2015 (CDT)

Mission index pages

In regards to Garuda Mission History, I think it's easier to the general reader to have an index page for each year with TV Guide-like 1-sentence summary blurbs and links to the individual episodes rather than just a link to a category with no real organization about the order of the missions. I'd like this model to be used for other ship's as well as otherwise the category of episodes, while useful if you know which mission you want, makes for poor browsing to the general reader. ♫ Rich ▪ talk ▪ 118Wiki Administrator 01:34, 3 April 2015 (CDT)

We could, but then it would lose its ease of use and be a pain to code. It'd be far easier just to have an optional NUMBER= option that people manually enter.

Hi Varaan. If you notice the Caraadian are still under construction. They have not yet been placed in front of the SDC to review and approve. That is my first draft as I want to update all of the Partha Expanse species and ensure that all of their new wiki pages work together to form a cohesive and hopefully enjoyable region that will entice more people to use and further develop it. Your participation is more than welcome as you are the original creator of this species. I always try to contact the original creators to try and ensure that when I update a species it meets with both their approval and with their original concept.

unique plurals to ILI

It's an optional variable that only needs to be added when you actually need a different plural from the usual. I've added it to Balivari for instance.

Academy courses

Person to ask would be FltAdm Wolf/Jordan. He wrote most of the current courses. Main issue with using LUG's stuff is it's probably copyrighted, so yeah, check with Jordan first and see what he says. Bajoran name template

Hi, I saw you created variants of the N template for Bajoran names. What are the plans for this template? Since Bajoran names don't require rearranging of last name first in the URL/page title, they can simply be linked to like this [[Anora Manar]]: Anora Manar. Likewise, Template:Nrank (and all other N template variants including Template:N itself) can still link to Bajoran names by just treating the entire name as a single name: {{nrank|Lieuteant|Anora Manar}}: Lieuteant Anora Manar♫ Rich ▪ 118Wiki Administrator ▪ Send Message 15:22, 14 May 2015 (CDT)

Likewise, templates such as Template:Roster and Template:Crew can use Bajoran names by just ensuring that the entire name is treated as single name (i.e., placed in the first name field) and the last name field left blank. Ex:

Alex Blake template

You've put in code for a template that is calling for parameters. Thus, on your template page, you've had it display again in the "noinclude" section with the full parameters listed, but then on your character page, you haven't specified any of those parameters. You either need to put

Hey Varaan, I'm sorry it took so long for me to see your question. I was on LOA after the birth of my second child. You've probably figured this out already, but to add notes in the CHEntry Template, you just add something like this:

|Note=transferred from Science

anywhere in the template code. So, for instance, if the entry you want to add a note to looks like this:

{{CHEntry|Ensign|Bob|Dylan|239202.18-Present|Gold|Style=DS9}}

You just pop in the above line like this:

{{CHEntry|Ensign|Bob|Dylan|239202.18-Present|Gold|Style=DS9|Note=Transferred from Science}}
