Summary

Act I

Three radiation spikes in the past three days. Three samples of debris collected after each one. What started as a footnote in the scans was turning into a growing mystery.[1]

Captain Sal Taybrim summons his senior staff to an early morning briefing with a vague declaration that a mystery with possibly dire consequences for Starbase 118 has revealed itself. A hull fragment from a Federation Starship was localized within close proximity to the Starbase, with radiation signatures indicating that the Starship suffered a warp core breach within the last two weeks, as well as traces of chroniton particles. As the crew considers the possibility of a hostile alien species tampering with the timeline, a temporal void opens within the briefing room, dragging half the assembled crew through it.[2]

Team Present Day

Members: Taelon, Dehnir, Lyndsay, Braddock, McLaren, Parvosi, Zel

Upon being shocked awake by their injuries, the group gathered in the briefing room realizes that a vast number of their crewmates are now missing. Lt.Cdr. Taelon is distraught to learn that he is effectively the most senior staff member onboard, even if the arrival of McLaren is a welcome boost, but is able to recall the name of the likely culprits of this incident: the Devidians. He commands Braddock and McLaren to work together to find out what the Devidians are all about, and what they might be up to, but they quickly run into a proverbial roadblock in that any files on the Devidians are rather sparse. What is known is that they were first encountered by the USS Enterprise, which fired a torpedo load on their planet, and that they live out of phase with the rest of reality. While the aggressive actions of the Enterprise could be an explanation for their current hostility, it doesn't help them find out why they chose Starbase 118 as their target. Taelon, however, recollects a time when Trellis Vondaryan, a former fellow Officer, was pushed 'out of phase' with reality in a holodeck accident, and suggests that using that same method might allow them to pursue a diplomatic solution with the Devidians. Meanwhile, Parvosi - who'd been sent to retrieve scan results for Taelon - comes back with a PADD containing an ominous, if simple message: "TIME NO DIE ALL"...
As they start working on how to deal with the Devidians, and hopefully get their people back, the remaining senior staff splits up into smaller team. Ensign Braddock and Lt. McLaren are sent to the cargo bay to gather a shipment of the explosive compound 'Gold Dew', Ensigns Parvosi and Lyndsay are charged with investigating the Devidians and their previous encounter with the Enterprise, Ensign Zel is sent to fetch Major Dal, while Ensign Dehnir remains with Commander Taelon to devise a method of combatting the plausibly hostile Devidians without accidentally harming any potential hostages.
Between Zel, Dehnir and Taelon - and aided by Fureri, Cmdr. Aitas' personal assistant - they manage to ascertain that the Devidians use triolic waves as an energy source, which is also likely how the space-time rifts are formed.

Team Yesteryear

Members: Taybrim, Silveira, West, Aitas, Trel'lis, Kasun, Maxwell, Hael, Moor, K’Mal

Upon arrival to Starbase 118 anno 2375, the team disguises themselves in era-appropriate clothing and leaves the briefing room, only to discover that they’ve been transported to a version of Starbase 118 that has just suffered a massive attack.
Their first order of business was heading to the CO’s office, where they're joined by Lt. Commander Trel'lis, who'd been caught in a transporter beam when the timerift opened. Lt. Commander Hael accidentally triggers an electrical surge that both knocks him out cold, but also triggers a hologram that finally reveals to the displaced crewmembers what they've landed in. They are on a Starbase in the middle of the Kalenda Bombing - an incident where a Syndicate Pirate blew the original Starbase 118 to smithereens, prompting the construction of the new and upgraded version they know from twenty years later. According to the team’s findings, they have just two days to find out what's causing changes to the timeline and get back to their own time, before they will be blown up alongside the Starbase. Lt.Cdr. Silveira suggests that the force of the explosive that blows up the Starbase might be able to catapult them back to their own time, but before such a plan can be put in motion, they do need to find out why they were pulled back in time to begin with. Captain Taybrim orders the entire group to proceed as one to the Bottleneck - an area of the Station where they'll be able to use the computers undetected - and from where their continuing plans can be set into motion safely.

  • Bottleneck Team:

Upon receiving orders from the Captain to maintain a 'home base' in the bottleneck labs, Lt. Cdrs Aitas, Hael & West alongside Ensign Moor, Lt Kasun and Crewman K’Mal set up to start their scans. While struggling to work with the outdated hardware and unfamiliar operating systems, they start scanning for any outgoing vessels that correlate to the debris fragments located in the present, as well as find any information about the aliens responsible for their current predicament.
Their first series of breakthrough comes in the form of a succesful series of scans that identifies the USS Xanth as the source - or at least the focal point - of the time distortion. Not only that, but the Xanth's hull composition also matches the debris located in 2395. According to communications logs, individuals would report for evacuation to the Xanth and then go radiosilent afterwards, and there had been no outward communications from the ship as all.

  • Shuttle Team

Captain Taybrim led a team consisting of Lt.Cdr. Silveira, Lt.Cdr. Trel'lis and Lt. Maxwell in an attempt to gather information about the situation outside the Bottleneck. Their first plan involved stealing an unused shuttle to survey the situation from space - a plan not entirely unfamiliar to two amongst their number.
As they reach the shuttle bay and prepare to initiate their plan to commandeer one, the Captain gets a communication from the Bottleneck team about their findings on the Xanth. Realizing that the USS Xanth was the Starship responsible for evacuating the Starbase's Senior Staff, he orders - with an amount of panic - that getting back to their own time was now their second priority. Their primary goal now had to be to prevent the destruction of the Xanth, and the loss of the entire senior staff of Starbase 118 anno 2375.
