Background

Sirok comes from a very traditional family, owners of a large amount of land dedicated to cultivation in the region of Kyr. As proud as a Vulcan can be of his family history. They have always been able to emphasize that they were faithful followers of the teachings of Surak having belonged to the Syrrannite movement. Most of them have always been linked to the Kyr region, the great exception being their grandfather Sobok, who served most of his extensive career as Captain of the USS Elcano, an old Excelsior class ship.

Sirok was born with a defect in his brain structure, damaging the inherent telepathic abilities of his species. So it is impossible for him, except with great effort and danger, to perform a mind-meld. This handicap meant that his parents could not find him a partner, although they did not make much effort, it seemed logical to them that he should be rejected for marriage. His parents dedicated all their efforts to ensuring that his brother Segon would prosper. From Sirok at the most they expected him to manage small parts of the family estate. However, he was strongly impressed by one of de Sobok's few visits to his children at Vulcan and saw that he did not have to do what his family expected of him.

The young Vulcan began to do what he could to improve himself. If, as his parents said, his future on Vulcan was so unflattering, it was logical to do what was possible to improve his situation outside the planet. As soon as he could, he took the examination for admission to Starfleet Academy as one of the youngest Vulcans to have passed the exam.

At first his stay was complicated for him, he had a hard time adapting to the way of being of emotional beings. On the contrary, he learned to discard prejudices from his point of view. There were individuals capable of using logic, even if only at times.

His efforts earned him a place as an advanced cadet in his chosen field, engineering. But he was able to spend a lot of time in solitude and be able to relate to other cadets or make contacts.

He was assigned to the Federation Embassy in Til'han. Performing a mission until being assigned to the USS Thor. In that first assignment, together with Wes Greaves, Alieth and Dar Elandra, he founded the JOPA.

Due to circumstances of available personnel as an ensign, he had to take over as interim chief engineer of the Thor. After several missions he was promoted and became chief engineer of the Vesta class.

For political and biological needs he married Rekika, a Romulan belonging to the refugee colony that Sirok's family maintains in their lands, to pave the way for the reunification of both peoples.

The Til'ahn Gambit

  • Stardate 239702.10 - 239704.12

As soon as he arrived at the embassy he was informed that after a Romulan attack the chief medical officer, Dr MacKenzie had been abducted by two Tal'shiar operatives. Although it was all a distraction so a Romulan ship could get close to a large amount of protomatter inside the Typhon Expanse. While the marine team under Commander Teller was handling the hostage situation, Sirok was assigned as an engineer to the USS Thunder, which was to stop the Romulan ship. They travelled as fast as possible using the QSD. When the Romulans arrived, even with the ship badly damaged from forcing their machines to get there as soon as possible, they were extracting the protomatter. Ensign Sirok prepared a program to try to see what changes the destruction of the protomatter in the surrounding anomalies could bring about and the amount of power needed to do so. As a more peaceful alternative he offered to use the transporter to create instability in the antimatter by forcing the Romulans away. The plan was never put into action because an entity known as the Unknown mutated the gel packs and lost control of the ship. Sirok helped Commander Pandorn set up a parallel computer using a Runaboat for minimal navigation, as well as help diagnose the problem with the gel packs that Dr Quen Deena was able to fix.

The Lost Colony

  • Stardate 239704 - 239706

The USS Thor responded to a lost colony world in the Menthar Corridor known as Vel Maijan, thought to have disappeared from existence in 2159. Ensign Sirok is assigned as Acting Chief Engineer, to prepare the U.S.S. Thor to enter the Ysden Nebula and carry out the mission. A team is formed, led by Lieutenant Commander Geoffrey Teller, Major Hannibal Parker, Dr. Quen Deena and Ensign Sirok himself. They decide to take the following steps. Try to get the shields to adapt to the frequencies of the ion storm, so they can penetrate it rather than face it. To do this, the tactical computer communicates with the main computer to improve response time and analysis. In addition, the inertial dampers are taken beyond their recommended limit after stress tests performed by the engineering team.

Once the ship arrived at Vel Maijan, engineering controlled the progress of Teller's team, which had to go deep into the planet. To help them in their progress from engineering, an emergency beacon repeater, configured as a communications repeater and pattern enhancers, was sent to assist in their return. While performing this operation, an increasing concentration of chronitron particles was discovered, which according to calculations would relocate the entire system.

Meanwhile, it is discovered that the descendants of the Vel Maijan settlers are alive. Captain Aron Kells orders Engineering to find a way to stay out of space time travel while they transport the survivors. To do this Sirok with the help of specialist Kortho, modify the typhonic shields to create an anti-singularity and prevent the space-time jump, temporarily. The process causes a lot of wear to the ship in various systems involved, but it fulfills its purpose.

Hammerfall

  • Stardate 239707.03 - 239707.04

Thor is attacked by an unknown entity while traveling on QSD. A kind of probe penetrated the Thor's shields, causing massive damage throughout the ship, resulting in large numbers of casualties, and preventing it from exiting QSD. Sirok and the engineering team did what they could to contain the damage. Even so, the probe was slowly advancing towards the QSD through the hull. After helping with the evacuation along with Commander Brodie and Lieutenant Lovar, he analyzed the probe. And they put in place a plan devised by Commander Pandorn's team to trick the probe into getting out of the ship, so that it could safely exit the QSD. The plan was a success. Finally the heavily damaged Thor was rescued by Captain Kells with the USS Tharsis.

Stick of Butter, Dozen Eggs & A Liter of Moba juice

  • Stardate 239709.20 - 239711.27

A straightforward run into the Gamma Quadrant. The USS Thor visit New New Bajor. A pastoral, agrarian settlement, and they can definitely use some of the heavy tech they're bringing. Along with Commander Geoffrey Teller, Lieutenant Dar Elandra and Ensign Tara Wilkins, they tried to deliver industrial farming equipment. The delivery area was empty, almost deserted. They tried to seek out nearby farmers and found some, known to Dar Elandra, who told them about the Blight. A plague that was killing their crops. Due to this tragedy and the paranoia generated by the Cardassian occupation, they refused help and were driven off their land.

Looking for possible origins of the plague the Thor pursued a group of pirates. In the pursuit the pirates were destroyed by using their technology against themselves.

While other teams discovered that the new Bajoran Prime Minister was allowing tests on the planet. Along with Commander Brodie, Dr. Alieth, escorted Minister Tan to help put to reveal Tidak's lies to the people of Bajor so he could speak in the council chamber.

The Cost of Forever

  • Stardate 239801.05 - 239803.01

Before returning to the Alpha Quadrant, the USS Thor responds to a distress signal, greatly weakened. With the help of Wes Greaves and Katsim Peri they managed to know the origin and exact content of the distress message.

Despite the indications that it could be a pre-warp culture, they decide to bring the ship closer. To reach the signal they must pass through a nebula that forms small subspace sigularities similar to force fields. Sirok modified the deflector and shields to create a sort of icebreaker to push the nebula's gases away and prevent the formation of the subspace fields.

When crossing the nebula a prewarp ship trapped at the end of the nebula. Despite being a ship without warp capability its sensors were far superior for a pre-warp culture. (TBC)
