Sevantha is a fairly quiet, reserved and professional individual when people first meet her. Her image is carefully cultivated, she thinks before she speaks, but like most culturally raised betazoids she is honest to a point that seems rude to most cultures. Still most people will find it rare to see Sevantha expressing herself freely, a precaution that comes with Sevantha’s struggle to stop her abilities from permeating any environment she is within. It’s all too easy for her to feel the emotions of others and take them onto herself. This doesn’t mean she doesn’t like to be around others, in fact she rather enjoys feeling the joy of others but has been fairly cautious due to the events of Ohmallera’s destruction which caused a cultural grief that left her developmentally regressive for much of her youth.

When Sevantha does open up, she is curious, inquisitive, and likes belonging to a group. As infectious as others emotions can be, her joy or grief are some of her strongest projections. As a doctor she is dedicated, caring, and determined. In her sport hobbies she can be even a little competitive. It takes time to get her to open up but when she does, she’s a good friend to those around her, even if it’s difficult for her to verbalize it. She actually prefers talking telepathically to those she is close to due to the fact that she finds herself more articulate in her mind than when she tries to speak.

Post Frontier Day

Due to her experience with handling large scale tragedies and loss, the usually introverted Sevantha has stepped up to try to help everyone adapt. Her sense of personal responsibility has been amplified as she watches a number of people experiencing the sense of loss she is all too familiar with. Having achieved one of her goals in Starfleet already has left her with an odd sense of renewed hope and questioning of fate as she moves forward. She is still introverted by nature but seems much more willing to reach out to people and open up though she doesn't really like to explain why.

• Temperament: Sevantha is quiet, unobtrusive most of the time, and speaks softly even when she is mad or annoyed, she tries to present intentionally neutral in tone until she warms-up to people in which she is more comfortable being more expressive of her emotions.

Sevantha's quarters are kept relatively minimalistic having just transferred from the USS Astraeus and not being able to transport her seahorse tank across space. She has a small corner of her living dedicated to a meditation corner which as sevaral ground pillows for herself and guests to sit on as well as a holographic waterfall that runs from an projector on the ceiling to one placed in the corner to illuminate a small patch of the flooring similar to the one she has in her office but smaller. She also has small one on her coffee table that turns that patch of the ceiling into the night sky on Betazed.

• Dancing: She has long enjoyed dance as a personal hobby, she does not enjoy performing, she just enjoys moving to music as it helps her mind relax and sharing the experience mentally with others she finds a satisfying intimate experience.
• Martial Arts: Sevantha is a well studied practitioner of Betazoid Martial Arts, specifically Tassa'Akai, having used it to develop discipline for her abilities. She has interest in learning more and likes to take up anything that allows her to practice with actual partners and not holodeck studies.
• Meditation: As an important part of Betazoid culture, Sevantha enjoys exploring other cultures' traditions of Meditation. She has recently started delving into Vulcan methodology after recommendation of a Lorian, a Vulcan Security Officer, who she worked with during her intern rotations.
• Movies: Attending the academy on Terra Sevantha was exposed to the more narrative style of story-telling movies offer. She enjoys anything with martials arts involved or detective stories or action movies, but doesn't like movies that conjure lots of emotions due to the fact that she likes turning her mind off.
• Music: She is a fan of soothing music and sounds, they help her relax and keep her emotions in check. The hobby tends to mix her enjoyment of dancing and meditation.
• People: Her predestined path was to be a counselor and even though she was unable to pursue it, understanding people is something that has never left her heart despite her struggle with her overactive empathy many people find invasive. Understanding how they work, they think, sharing experiences is important to her as a Betazoid despite her more anti-social nature.

Mother, Betazed, Medara Born as a 6th generation vassal of the 7th House, Tesslana Saa is someone who holds the establishment of the Houses in high regard and places a great deal of importance on the role her family has served to the 7th house. Like her mother before her, she has methodically planned the continuation of her line, and planned the lives out of her children. Sevantha and her mother have a strained relationship, Tesslana’s attempt to create invaluable resources to the 7th House have fallen through with the loss of her son and Sevantha’s joining Starfleet. Even at a distance, Tesslana tries to gather what information she can on her daughter, much to Sevantha’s dismay. Sevantha wants to keep distance as long as she possibly can to avoid the weight of expectation falling onto her shoulders, expectations she has never wanted nor intends to follow. Tesslana works currently for the Peacekeepers on Betazed, having served as a Saboteur in the Dominion War during Betazed’s occupation, and dedicating herself to the planet’s safety. Her history in the War is something she rarely talks about and is in denial it changed anything about her, but Sevantha strong believes her mother has never left the war.

Father, Betazed, Medara Peirse is a lucky man who won the genetic lottery. Born to parents with no status, his excessive neurotransmitters allowed him to develop telepathic and empathic gifts that made him highly valuable to clients, especially in business. Caught up in the game of the Houses, eventually, he climbed his way into the top suitors of 7th House vassal Tesslana Saa. Peirse has settled into an easy life with his wife, though knows better than to cross her. Still he’s not entirely heartless and that’s evident in his fondness for his children. When Sevantha developed her abilities early, he was the one who sat with her when she had to be institutionalized, as he believes it was his genetics at fault. The two only grew closer following her brother’s death and now seems to take opportunities to cover for her when needed from her mother. Sevantha does not the full depths of her father’s former life but knows the man has memorized the Ferengi Rules of Acquisition a little too well for someone who was just a social climber.

Brother, Betazed, Deceased Sevantha’s older brother, first child of Tesslana and Peirse, and at one point Sevan’s closest companion. It was rare the two ever verbally spoke to one another, strictly communicating in one another’s minds, often to the point they’d get chided for being rude. Despite their age gap, Velaan was Sevantha’s partner in crime. As a male, he didn’t bear the weight of the family like Sevantha did and decided to pursue being a Doctor to avoid the mess of the Houses. When his family went on vacation, he decided to stay back in Ohmallera to finish his application process and interviews for schooling. This decision led to him becoming one of the 1.2 million victims of the USS Constitution-B hijacking. Sevantha was devastated by her brother’s loss.

Medical Officer, USS Astraeus Since her transfer from Denali Station they two have been colleagues in the Medical Offices and despite the initial concerns due to Sevantha’s telepathic abilities and Alix’s trauma, the two have become fast friends. During their shoreleave they pursued their Counseling Certificates and together have worked to help overcome Alix’s telepathic trauma little by little. Sevantha would most certainly call her a friend at this point though she remained entirely unaware of the tension between Alix and Charles. Character Page: Alix Harford

Acting Security Chief, USS Astraeus Charles was one of the first people she met on the ship and initially, Sevantha wasn't sure what to make of him and she was sure he felt similar in regards to her. Due to his brief death in Frontier Day and Sevantha being the responding Doctor to helping revive him and calling to him psychically, the two have developed a bond. The two have shared similar loss and grief as well as emotional struggles which makes him easy to relate to now, especially since he doesn’t take issue with talking to her telepathically with him when she struggles to express herself. She looks forward to the eventual sharing of a bottle of Jalara Fire with him. Character Page: Charles Matthews

Science Officer, USS Astraeus The two initially met in their final exam at Starbase 118 and reunited in a roundabout on the way to the USS Astraeus at the tail end of a shoreleave. Sevantha and Gwen ended up assigned to the same quarters which kept Sevan from entirely isolating herself as introverted as she is, because Gwen is an extrovert. Their opposite personalities bring a nice balance to their environment. The Ba’Ku’s curiosity about other cultures has also allowed Sevantha to communicate telepathically with her regularly, which has created a comfortable environment for her to settle into. Much like with her brother, Sevan has a habit of talking telepathically to Gwen’ora even when outside the room, which she has to remind herself is rude in regular company. Plus Gwen has been trusted with a few aspects of her history that Sevan is particularly embarrassed about speaking of. Character Page: Gwen'ora Tasen

Security Officer, USS T’Kumbra A half-Vulcan Security Officer working out of Starfleet Academy for a time after putting in a request to be close to his human father’s home. Sevantha and him met on field medicine training with him serving as her escort on multiple occasions. Due to their telepathic abilities, the two were fascinated by one another, and eventually formed a deep friendship turned romantic. Lorian proposed to Sevantha before receiving approval from his parents. His mother remarried on Vulcan to a far more traditionalist instructor at the Vulcan Science Academy and after a return home, Lorian found himself struggling with acceptance for his human self or embracing logic fully that Sevantha was an unfortunate threat to with her empathic connection to him. The final straw would come with his step-father arranging a marriage with a fellow professor’s daughter, T’Vel, a skilled engineer on board the T’Kumbra. Lorian torn between parents and Sevantha, made what he deemed the logical choice, and broke the engagement off with Sevantha to appease his parents as well as requesting a transfer to the USS T’Kumbra to prove his dedication. He broke Sevantha’s heart, she wants to be angry with him, despite his efforts to remain friends. She still cares about him and his happiness but she’s still too raw from their break-up.

Engineering Officer, USS Octavia E. Butler Sevantha met Morro at rock bottom at Club 602 and had an entanglement that was misunderstood by both. Their reunion over a subspace call to help Morro get rid of a parasite that had attached itself to him led to brief resentment then reconciliation. The two have become penpals over the past several months but these vulnerable letters have been slowly reigniting feelings that Sevantha didn’t think she was ready to feel just yet. Chief of Engineering, USS Astraeus Their friendship formed under rather dire circumstances and fairly fast. After an explosion in Strategic Operations, Sevantha latched on to his thoughts of falling asleep and reached out to wake him up. During the events of Frontier Day the two used their connection as a means to ensure one another were safe. It’s been nice to find another Betazoid comfortable with telepathic communication for her to speak to, and she’ll admit, he’s the fastest friend she’s ever made. Character Page: Wyatt Ral

HCO Officers , USS Astraeus The Bynars are officers she has only recently met in the crisis of Frontier Day, primarily 000, who was a very disoriented Borg. HCO Officer, USS Astraeus The two initially met in passing in the Pagrati Lounge and met again when Chris was transported to Sickbay with multiple serious injuries. After learning Sevantha was in fact not an angel or all knowing being, and he was not dead in heaven, there was a bit of an awkward exchange where Sevantha became aware of Chris’s own internal struggle of self-importance, self-loathing, and sense of duty. She was pretty sure things ended awkwardly between them, until he mentally jumpscared her in the Pagrati Lounge. She’s not sure what their dynamic is but at least it's not awkward, and it's kind of fun. Character Page: Christopher Caldwell

Security Officer, USS Astraeus From their first posting on the Bridge together to surviving Sickbay together in the final stages of Frontier Day, their familiarity was really tested by fire. Sevantha respects Divya as a very capable tactical officer though finds the woman lives up to the lack of physical self-care that comes with those gold shirts. The two have developed a friendly relationship on the ship currently, especially after a little meditation retreat on Terra with some members of the Astraeus & Chin'toka crew. Chief of Operations, USS Astraeus Sevantha and Esa met for the first time in the aftermath of the Strategic Operation explosion and had to chase down a changeling attempting to assassinate Esa during an operation conducted by Sylvie Doucet. Kiax became her patient afterwards to help manage her nightmare and sleeping issues. Unintentionally this has brought Sevantha to at times worry needlessly over the Chief of Operations due to Esa’s thrill seeking personality. Character Page: Esa Kiax

Medical Officer, USS Astraeus Dr. Fianna is a very dedicated woman who is driven to work even when she herself is suffering. The two are very different individuals but Sevantha respects her work and her area of expertise in their occupation. First Officer, USS Astraeus Sevantha met Commander Rosek-Skyfire during the Strategic Operations explosion after she shortly come aboard. Sevantha treated her directly and caught a near misstep of her own after seeing the Commander's complicated medical history. The Captain, USS Astraeus First time Sevantha saw the Captain was on the Bridge at the beginning of Frontier Day. It's the first time he wasn't a mythical creature to her. Upon seeing him, she tends to remember the stories Atrios used to tease her about Caitian's history of hunting Betazoids. In Frontier Day he has proven to be a surprise, suggesting unorthodox methods to handle their less than ideal situation as well as taking all of the responsibility. So far she remains impressed with the Captain of the Astraeus and his dedication to keeping his crew safe. Character Page: Mei’konda

Academy Exam CO Sevantha first met Lt. Commander Promontory as part of his training group in SB118 and as one of her final exam Commanding Officer, along with fellow cadets Gwen’ora Tasen and Linna Farvor. Back then she was a far more shy student and intimidated by her superior officers, trying to always present respectfully and never question command unless a medical need demanded it. Only recently did she learn his location was on the Butler when Lhandon Nilsen mentioned him during their session. Character Page: Avander Promontory

Assistant Chief of Operations USS Octavia E. Butler A mystery within a mystery. Lt. Lhandon Nilsen is the most curious patient she has ever seen with a condition that has her absolutely baffled. Not only a human who has developed telepathic gifts post an experience death but he's had someone invade and alter his memories and only recently came to realize it. She has since been delving quietly into the mystery as she's deemed Lhandon her patient and it's her responsibility to make sure he's alright. Character Page: Lhandon Nilsen

Academy Exam FO During Sevantha’s final exam, she was placed on Alora’s team to explore energy waves from a strange beacon planetside. Sevantha didn’t know at the time of her exam Alora DeVeau was the recently appointed Matriarch of the 15th House of Betazed by marriage and now considers her telepathic communication with the woman the ultimate faux pas she’s committed in her existence. Also the African Violet gifted to her is rightfully spoiled due to this reason also. Sevantha has never been a plant person but she absolutely will not let a gift from a Matriarch die on her watch. Medical Officer USS Chin’toka Sylvie was the first Doctor to really talk to her on the Astraeus and help break her into the space socially. Both are children of tragedy and went into the field helping others. During her time aboard the USS Astraeus, Sylvie served as acting CMO and Sevantha was more than willing to support and learn from her holding the position. Character Page: Sylvie Doucet

The Girl Who Won, USS T’Kumbra T’Vel is a brilliant engineer in Starfleet aboard the USS T'Kumbra, an almost all Vulcan vessel. When Lorian’s parents sought a new match for him, they sought her family as she was a fellow Starlfeet officer which was more likely to persuade Lorian to make the logical choice. He did. T’Vel is aware of the complexity of the situation, she does not gloat or hold pride at securing the marriage with Lorian over Sevantha… but logic does not allow the expression of remorse for the situation when it benefits both her family and her immensely. Sevan’s feelings about her are complicated, she’s beautiful, cold, and everything she couldn’t be.

	• History

			Before Starfleet ⮟

• 237402.20 or February 20th, Sevantha Saa was born to Tesslana Saa and her partner Peirse Saa in the city of Ohmallera on Betazed. The Saa family being generational vassels to the Seventh House of Betazed meant that being the only daughter, the pair having her brother Velaan fives years earlier, Sevantha inherited all the expectation and weight of her mother's ambition.

• Only a few months after her birth, Betazed would be occupied but the Jem'Hadar forces belonging to the Dominion. Sevantha's mother would decided to participate in the resistance led by the Fifth House. Leaving Sevantha and Velaan with Peirse to protect, she'd go underground until Betazed was liberated, and returned home a different woman. Sevantha would never know the mother who wasn't looking over her shoulder, who wasn't planning every of her children's lives, or the woman who's protective nature was guided by love more so than fear.

• 2378 at age 4, Sevantha's empathic and telepathic abilities developed. These manifested as Sevantha beginning to take on the emotions of those around her, causing confusion in recognizing her emotions from others. Due to her father's tendency to use psychic communication, Sevantha's verbal development regressed completely, and she would only reply telepathically. Due to her early develoment she was enrolled in specialized training and speech therapy. Her mother would enroll her in Tassa'Akai alongside her brother to help develop control and study early meditation.

• 2381 at age 7, she would be enrolled in alternative school with other children like herself that needed special assitance with her abilities. Here she would befriend Romi Unaa, daughter of a family in service to the Fourth House and Atrios Taile, a non-house child who had developed his gifts even earlier than Sevantha. The families of the three children would decided to make an arrangement to declare all three bonded. Sevantha and Romi due to their status in service to the Houses and Atrios's psychic potential. None of the children understood and just enjoyed being permitted to play together.

• In 2388, when Sevantha was 14, Ohmallera would be destroyed by the hijacked USS Constitution-B. Tesslana and Peirse had taken Sevantha to Lake Cataria for vacation while Velaan chose to stay behind to finish his application for medical school. They were in transit when the impact happened and arrived to find the city in fresh ruins. On the ground, Sevantha would escape her parents an make her way into her old neighborhood only to find her house destroyed. Due to loud telepathic calls to her brothers, Starfleet Marines were capable of finding her before she got hurt. She, however, did not cooperate in her hysterics and telepathically lashed out at one of the marines. They were given no choice but to use a high dosage neural supresssent on her an see to her hospitalization that caused her to suffer nearly a week without her gifts.

• For 6 months, Sevantha was committed to the University of Betazed in Medara's psychiatric and telepathic care unit along with several other children who had similar reactions to the tragedy. Having lost her brothers and friends, the temporary loss of her powers, Sevantha's trauma manifested as selective mutism. Initially she completely shutdown and refused to respond, but with help of a devoted team of specialists and her father's very attentive visitation, she would make a full recovery and return to regular society.

• 2389 the Saa family would permanently relocate to Medara despite the reconstruction of Ohmallera. Tesslana would take a new position in the peacekeepers for planetary security, while Peirse continued to live the very cozy life of a house husband.

			Starfleet Academy ⮟

• 2392 at the age of 18, Sevantha woud apply to the Starfleet Satellite program at the University of Betazed in Xenobiology, with minors in psychology and telepathic development. Due to her double minor she did not take summer breaks. Tesslana believed Sevantha was just in attendence of the University of Betazed, something Sevantha made no effort to correct, and avoided her actively to keep her from discovering.

• 2396 at age 23, she applied for Starfleet Medical Academy on Earth. Sevantha would reveal this fact to her parents much to their surprise and her mother's protest. Her application would be accepted and she would promptly be transferred to Earth. This would be the first time she'd ever left Betazed.

• 2397 at age 24, Sevantha would meet half-vulcan Lorian, a teacher's assistant for Security Search and Rescue classes. The two would form an immediate bond and begin dating. By the end of their first year the two would get engaged.

• 2400 at age 26, Lorian would break off his engagement with Sevantha to pursue an arranged marriage at the request of his family. During a celebration party at club 602, she would meet Morro Caras and the two would have a rather interesting one night stand.

• 2401 After being shipped off to Starbase 118 she would enter her final exam under Commanding Officer Avander Promontory and First Office Alora DeVeau

			Joining the USS Astraeus ⮟

• 240105.20 Sevantha Saa graduated from SB 118 and receives her posting on the USS Astraeus along with fellow classmate Gwen'ora Tasen.

After a brief stop on Betazed to attend make amends for missing a mourning ritual during her final stretch of schooling. She would catch shuttle along with Ensign Tasen and arrive on the ship. The two were greeted by First Officer Serala before she quickly departed to attend an important matter in regards to her mother.

Their arrival during shoreleave allowed Sevantha to settle in. She'd end up getting paired with Ensign Tasen as her roommate. They took their time exploring the ship and introducing themselves to many of their fellow officers onboard

			Frontier Day & Fallout ⮟

• 240106 - The Prelude to Frontier Day (Phase I)

Sevantha Saa was onboard the USS Astraeus on its course to return to Sol System when they retrieve new orders to pursue the USS Titan. Acting Chief Medical Officer Sylvie Doucet ordered Dr. Kris Fianna and Sevantha to go over the medical profiles of all members of the Titan to find possible medical reasons for the unusual activity. During this Dr. Doucet reveals that Picard and Riker are reported to be onboard the Titan.

An explosion in Operations on Deck 5 calls all medical staff into action. With high levels of theta radiation the doctors inoculate themselves and head in to recover Lt. Commander and Chief of Operations Esa Kiax, Lt. Commander Lael Rosek-Skyfire, Lt. Wyatt Ral, and Lt. Neshala. Guided via telepathic messages from Lt. Ral, Sevantha learns his suspicion of sabotage and uses their link to help locate the team. Once they were stabilized the officers were transported to Sickbay. Lt. Commander Kiax would be rushed into emergency surgery in effort to save both the Kiax symbiont and host with Dr. Doucet while Dr. Fianna would be called to the bridge to tend to Captain Mei'konda after an attempt on his life. Sevantha would be left to continue treatment of the rest of the affected staff.

Sevantha while on duty would receive an urgent telepathic message for help from Lt. Ral. When she arrived, she discovered two Wyatt Rals and a dead guard. She urges the nurses to tend to the officers while she chases after the Changeling whom they suspect is after Lt. Commander Kiax. When she arrives at the surgery, she finds Dr. Doucet had used the piece of metal defend herself, killing the Changeling. Sevantha would take over the surgery to allow Dr. Doucet to recover.

• 240107 - The Fleet Celebration (Phase II)

Following multiple assassination attempts, Sevantha was called to the Captain's Ready Room alongside of many members of the crew to discuss a plan. Captain Mei'konda revealed his suspicion regarding the fleet. He publically tasks Dr. Doucet and First Officer Serala to steal the USS Chin'toka with volunteers from other crews to assist after asking Lt. Commander Kiax to use Fleet Commander Wolf's codes to obtain it.

Sevantha and Gwen'ora are tasked with doing an autopsy on the deceased Changeling. Shortly into the autopsy Gwen'ora is summoned to the bridge leaving Sevantha alone in the labs. Once finishing the autopsy the ship goes into red alert. Concerned she looks for anyone near the labs to inquire whats happening. She finds Timothy Alentonis and Slav Shewytch duck into the astronomy lab until Wyatt Ral arrives to inform them of Dr. Fianna's transformation into the Borg and sickbay's hostile takeover. Knowing they needed to regain control of sickbay, Sevantha ventures into the jefferie's tube to sneak past the borg.

When she arrives in Sickbay she activates emergency medical hologram Mark IV for assistance. The assimilated bynar 000 appeared along with the body of Lt. Charles Matthews and Sevantha made an attempt to rend them free of the Borg Queen only to fail. Once Mark IV dropped a containment field over 000, Sevantha rushed to say Lt. Matthews only to find no sign of vitals. She begin trying to revive the Lieutenant and uses her telepathy to attempt to stimulate brain activity to prolong his fighting chance. Matthew awakens and is called back to the bridge and Sevantha requests Security Ensign Divya Tam assist with maintaining sickbay. Slav arrives to assist with helping understand the assimilation process.

Sickbay begins taking on patients from Starbase 1 and the two discover a changeling hidden in the refugees. Using a containment field, they inadvertantly split the changeling into two, and they take the shape of an angry child and begin causing chaos. Sevantha assists with containing the second changeling while talking with their captured piece. She learns the Changelings blame Starfleet, bringing her to question what inspired the retaliation and violence, but informs the Changeling that destruction can be a very unifying factor and Starfleet will not fall easily. Through interrogation Sevantha also learns the transporters were sabotaged by the Changelings for the Borg using bioorganic genetic modifcations.

The rest of Frontier Day would be spent in Sickbay. Christopher Caldwell would arrive from Starbase 1 nearly dead. The entire medical staff is stretch thin and the Astraeus makes it out of Frontier Day with 103 casualties.

Sevantha is left questioning what will happen to the Changelings and if this will only continue the cycle of violence in the future. She also is left trying to understand the long term ramifications of the crew's exposure to the Borg and her own psychic entanglement with it.

• 240108.17 - Sevantha Saa recieves a promotion to Lieutenant Junior Grade as well as UFP Medal of Freedom, Distinguished Service Ribbon, the Lifesaving Ribbon and Gold Lifesaving Ribbon along with recognition for participating in Frontier Day and a Medal for serving in a War against the Borg.
