The USS Benjamin Franklin is an Oberth class science vessel with a crew complement of 80. In May 2384, the vessel went missing investigating reports of an anomoly in Bull's Run, which were later confirmed to be a wormhole. Her emergency buoy was found by the FTU vessel Ambuscader and the USS Independence-A was dispatched to investigate the disapperance. The ship was later recovered.
