Freki first met Cadfael during their first Counselling session. Though Freki keeps things professional when in the office, he enjoyed the conversations he had with the helmsman and even suggested they meet for dinner, after meeting a contact of his for a delicious Raktajino, though this has not yet happened due to the impending away mission Freki has been sent on.

The Captain is someone Freki looks up to a lot, someone he sees himself learning from. Though they have not had any personal interactions, Freki harbours a strong desire to make a connection here.

Background

---

Born on the Caitian Homeworld of Cait but relocated early to Starbase 87. Raised by a single working mother, G'Tra, aboard the stardock and engineering specialist station.

There was a constant coming and going of different ships and Freki had an early fascination for their residents and cultures more than their transportation. Having an insatiable curiosity for learning and experimenting, the young Caitian would often get into trouble for being in people's personal space and in the wrong place at the wrong time.

As an early teen, Freki and his mother were resituating to a new Starbase closer to Earth in preparation for eventual enlistment into Starfleet.

Sadly, his mother was killed during an accident aboard the Erewon-class civilian transport ship USS Alhambra, a varied roster of travellers travelled closer to the Sol system. Dozens died, including the ship's Captain and their helmsman. Investigations into the fate of the Alhambra put the incident down to an unfortunate interaction of subspace radiation destabilising the containment field around certain cargo, which in turn allowed for an explosive reaction.

Freki awoke several days later with a slight headache and evident memory loss. A few weeks later, he was back on the Starbase for funeral arrangements for his mother. He decided he needed to head to the Academy as planned as it was what his mother would have wanted.

He arranged transport and headed to Earth. A place called "San Francisco" where the academy was located. He was a studious boy and took every opportunity he had to learn something new, filling his time with extracurriculars and extra credit. He completed training aboard Starbase 118 and was assigned his first post as Counsellor aboard the USS Chin'toka.

Personality

---

Since he was a young boy, Freki has been curious, excitable and upbeat. He has a thirst for knowledge and is engaged by cultural phenomenon, learning anthropology and sociology as well as diplomatic issues. Any chance he has to make a friend out of someone new with a new story to tell and he will make the effort to do so. His youthful exuberance does lead him to appear naïve at times but it is mostly endearing.

Career History

Since graduating Starfleet Academy, Ensign Azorius has been stationed as Chief Counsellor aboard the USS Chin'toka. Though rare for an Ensign to take the Chief role, there is a lack of trained Counsellors available and so some ships have had to make a special dispensation.
