The Battle of Deep Space 17 (also known as the Battle of Eratis) was fought near DS17 in 2383. The Gorn tried to annex the Ithassa Region, and attacked DS17. They were held at bay by an outnumbered Federation fleet under the Ursa Major until Federation and Gorn diplomats agreed to a cease-fire.
