Personal History
The Family Clan Th'thyhrehr was part of an Andorian Science Mission, studying a Protostar and traces of unknown substances emitting from that star, as the group of three ships and their escort were attacked by Breen Pirates.
The Protostar itself had been found beyond Federation Space in a until now unclaimed sector. As recovered records had shown, the Pirates quickly had overpowered any resistance, blowing up all but one Andorian Science Vessel.
Byss and his sisters had been taken hostage by the Breen. It is assumed that resources and latinum was the only reason for the attack, as the Andorian Homeworld has payed ransom for 40 Andorian survivors of the Science Mission.
Being placed in a Andorian Orphanage, Byss grow up basically angry all the time on the situation outcome and some unwillingness to accept his fate.
Always blaming the Andorians for their bad planning and risky behaviour he showed early interest in the Starfleet. Anything not directly related to this Homeworld was just welcome.
Knowledge is power and skill and knowledge would prevent him to be a victim again in the future.
