Shevon was born on the Spacefarer's Delight. Her father had left to return to Earth not knowing her mother was pregnant. Her mother died while she was very young. Having been basically adopted by the Captain of the Delight, a full blood Orion, she grew up knowing no other home. Growing up on the ship she was always learning the in's and out's of it mechanically and as a teenager became the ships engineer. The crew was often changing and the only permanency in her life was her Captain/father figure and the ship. In late 2399, the delight came under attack by Orion pirates. Her father had previously worked with this particular band and they had been chasing after him for years after he'd stopped smuggling for them. He was killed in the attack but the rest of the crew was rescued by the USS Glenn.

Upon their rescue by the Glenn, Shevon soon learned that one of the people involved had the same last name as her, one Aine Sherlock. In a strange twist of fate, and neither woman knowing the other existed, it was learned they had the same father. After the rescue and having lost her home, Shevon took up residence on StarBase 118 living with her sister.

On 239812.18, Shevon enlisted in Starfleet and registered to take courses at the Academy extension campus on StarBase118. She came in as a Petty Officer 3rd Class due to her service in the Merchant Marines.
