What is the point of putting "Weight" onto your character's bio/side bar?

I've honestly never seen the point. Well, I get the point, but I've never really bothered. Every time it's come up in a template, I always delete it. I've found it difficult to calculate for some random reason (maybe it's applying a weight to the character's height that always gets me).
