	Personality

Jaseb is a little measured when dealing with other people. He expects the worst from others, rarely shows his true self hidden behind the wall he built between himself and the surrounding world. But it’s not that unexpected, as his whole family works in the planetary security forces.
But, if you crack the wall, and then peel the onion, you can find a sweet, attentive, and sensitive boy, a direct opposite to cold, efficient, result focused men who present himself so.

	Background

Jaseb was born in a non-Federation colony in the Eltharia system. His family name is honored, recognized, and old at Eltharia, the name which could be dated to centuries past as civic servants to the Father, Eltharia’s ruler. His father, Timothee, was the Thanator General, and his mother Ana, was the constitutional lawyer under a one true thanata. Born as a third child of his parents, he was free in his path as a pilgrim of Eltharia, the one who will leave. His father did not care much about him, almost ignored his existence, but his surname itself gave him enough opportunities to become anything he wanted. He learned to be thanata, he embraced Sanctum Transpoli, Elthari trans-humanistic religion. He brought only honor to his name and the name of the family. Still, he was always third. Always one who will leave.

At the age of 17 he was expected to leave Elthari, and he left. As Elthari is an accession nation to the Federation (for the past fifty years, but that’s another story), he chose to apply at Federation Starfleet Academy. There he firstly came across something he hadn't seen before. Misunderstanding of his religion, condemnation for his looks, slanders and insults whispered behind his back.
Even though he was third, he was never bullied nor offended by others. People on Elthari knew that much to not pick on the son of the Thanator. Son of judge, law enforcer, executioner. Firstly, he was terrified and lost, but he hardened to the outside world quickly enough. He paid his debts; he sent his regards. Not less could be expected from an Intelligence major. Every prank he returned in double.
In 2400 he graduated Starfleet Academy with a major in Intelligence – with focus on data analysis and extraction - and a minor in Engineering.

After graduation, he was assigned to the USS Artemis-A as one of its operations officers as his first official posting.

File:Chevalier-Father.png	Timothee Father	Jaseb's relationship with his father could be described as strained at best. His father is a man of few words and many expectations, but as Jaseb was a third child, there was little to none for him.
File:Chevalier-Mother.png	Ana Mother	Jaseb's mother always loved him, and helped him to grow into a man he's today. In contrast to his father, Mother never saw him as a burden that third children are considered to be.
File:Chevalier-Brother1.png	Thomas Oldest brother	Thomas, as a first child in the family, was always the one on the pedestal, Jaseb as third, overlooked and ignored. Thomas path was to become Thanata, as their father was, Jacob's path was to become a pilgrim. Their social status divided them more than nine years of age difference. They never grew up to be close to each other.
