Ryon (Darwin-A)

After a particularly eventful shore leave, which included the promotion of Commander Greir Reinard to Captain, Reinard received a communication from Admiral Jellico informing him that the Darwin would be returning to a planet Reinard remembered all to well - Asavi. Of course, before this was revealed to the crew they were brought to together in the conference room to have the announcement that several new crew members would be joining them - Ensign Clio Margariti, a new member of their Medical Department, Lt. Richard Matthews who would be taking the position of Chief of Science and a new Engineering Officer in Lt. Commander Ethan Brice, husband of Commander Karynn Ehlanii Brice. After welcoming the new crew, it was time to move onto promotions and ribbons with both Lt. JG Nathan Baker making full Lt. and Crewman Eewon Saroa making Crewman Second Class, for their efforts in the last mission. Saroa and Ensign Alana Larson both also received the Good Conduct Ribbon, while Reinard and Brice received the Purple Ribbon. Moving on, Reinard began to brief the senior staff on their mission. They would be returning to a planet, previously discovered by Reinard and the crew of the Vigilant almost a year earlier. The native Asavii live on the planet in underwater biodomes, and are a bi-pedal reptilian race who breathe oxygen. Their tough skins come in a small range of colours and they all look similar, even with their clothing but it seems the more ornate the robes the more important the person. They have exceptional smell and distinctive, unique markings on their facial features and those seem to be the primary way they identify each other. The Darwin was to be sent to investigate the USS Valorous a Nova class vessel that had been sent to follow up and try build relations with the Asavii people after the first contact. The ship has not been heard from so, fearing the worst, Stafleet dispatched the Darwin to investigate. Notable Sims
