	Background

Eliana has been surrounded by people in service her entire life. Born on the USS Magellan on 2377.06.11, she spent her formative years aboard the vessel, learning from some of the finest officers Starfleet had to offer. Despite rarely seeing her father, Eliana enjoyed a happy childhood and the best life a Starfleet vessel could provide. It was only years later that she realized how often her life had been in danger.

When her mother retired from active duty, the family, including her half-brother, returned to Betazed and moved into the family home with her father. There, Eliana attended mid-school, honing her telepathic and empathic abilities. She then enrolled at the University of Betazed to study diplomacy, following the path of her father, a former diplomat turned researcher. During her studies, Eliana became deeply aware of the impact of the Dominion Occupation on Betazed. She felt that her skills would be better utilized in helping all people rather than just governments, prompting her to switch her major to psychology. In her final year, she focused on the study of grief and its effects on various life forms, including death rites and practices.

Upon graduating, her family expected her to begin her career on Betazed. However, driven by a desire to learn and help beyond her home planet, Eliana applied to Starfleet and was accepted in 2396. At Starfleet Academy, Eliana majored in Counselling with a minor in Anthropology. She excelled in most of her classes, demonstrating a natural aptitude for understanding and helping others. She also became proficient in conversational Bajoran and Klingon. However, she struggled with the engineering courses, barely managing to pass. Despite this, her determination and passion for service saw her through, and she graduated ready to make a difference in the galaxy.

Sheara Darius Mother BIOGRAPHY Sheara Darius retired from active duty from the USS Magellan after the Dominion war, feeling that her talents would better serve the people of Betazed in the aftermath of the occupation. During her Starfleet career, she served first as the Chief of Security on the USS Isannah, USS Magellan, and the USS_Ranger-A. She served as First Officer and Wing Commander of the USS Magellan at her retirement.

Ralax Delnaran Father BIOGRAPHY Retired diplomat, currently working in research at the University of Betazed.

Rem'kah Shakura Brother BIOGRAPHY Rem'kah, or Rem as he is more colloquially known, is Eliana's half-brother. His father is Remphus Shakura, who served alongside her mother on the USS Magellan before his untimely disappearance. He currently serves the United Federation of Planets as a Junior Diplomatic Attache assigned to the Klingon Empire.

	Mission Summaries

Planetside Mira 4A Personal Log, Stardate 240107.10 My first mission as a Counselor on Starbase 118 meant using my abilities in a way that I was unaware I was capable of. I was connected to many minds and I am unsure of the ramifications of this practice. Still, I feel I have cemented my place in Starfleet, without even stepping into my own office. I am already receiving requests for my services, I only hope that I can help my crew members, and their families, to understand who and what they are, and how they can handle what the universe throws at them. It is going to be a challenge, a larger one than I anticipated but a challenge nonetheless.

' USS Narenda Personal Log, Stardate 240107.12 I have returned from Miri IV relatively unscathed, I did have somewhat of a headache after my telepathic adventure but I haven't felt any other lingering effects of being connected to so many minds. I am curious if anything will present itself in due course. I haven't used my abilities in such a way for a very long time-- and even then, that was under controlled conditions during my training. It's hard to believe in my first venture outside of the Academy I was asked to use them in such a way. Needs must, I suppose. If this is an indication of what this posting is going to be like, the stories my mother used to tell me don't seem to be as farfetched as they once were. It has been a baptism by fire, as the humans say. A strange idiom, but one that I feel fits this situation most appropriately. I'm back on the ship now, so hopefully I will have time to collect my thoughts before we are whisked off on another adventure. :: Eliana paused, then added with half-a-laugh:: I thought being posted to the Station would mean I was in my office a lot... who knew?
