Klingon Hobbies Embroidery, Gymnastics, Running, Swimming Appearance Peri did not inherit the height of her father, but rather stands at a petite 5’3”, curvy, though she doesn’t usually wear clothing to show it off. Her neck, dark brown eyes, and forehead all show Cardassian markings that are more prominent than one might expect of someone with only 1/4 heritage, those on her neck hidden when she wears her long, black hair down - along with a light grey cast to her skin. Upon the bdouble of her nose are the markings that indicate a distinct Bajoran heritage, along with the earring that she wears, given to her by her mother. Personality Peri is a curious young woman who enjoys learning new things and questions about the universe always draw out that curiosity. She likes when there are practical solutions to things, but is flexible enough to know that sometimes, things don’t work out as practically as one would like. While she is quite shy, reserved, and very introspective, she does enjoy learning about others - as they are a part of the universe she’s so interested in. to others, she's more of a watcher, taking in what she sees, processing it, pondering it. When it comes to her work, it is not uncommon for her to get so wrapped in it that she forgets about other things. It is in that work that her passion truly shines through, to the point where her excitement overrides her natural reticence. Despite her shyness, Peri has a well defined competitive streak, one that comes out from time to time, particularly when running or playing Spring ball, and is not the sort to leave a challenge unmet. History Early Life and Schooling During the Cardassian occupation of Bajor, Peri’s grandmother, Jerya, was a Bajoran, who caught the eye of a Cardassian, Gul Shinal Rirset. Jerya eventually escaped with her daughter in 2352 and found herself a refugee. For several years, Jerya went from place to place until she finally settled in a small colony on Hasoor VII. There she met Katsim Grishom and his son Sylar. He and Peri’s mother, Wirhla grew up together and eventually married in 2371 after Sylar graduated from Starfleet academy. Peri was born four years later. Growing up, Peri found herself between two worlds. A child of mixed species, for the most part she never quite fit in with any of those from her heritage. Her parents have exposed her to the culture of Bajor and, to an extremely limited degree, that of Cardassia. It is enough, however, to spark her curiosity, and make her uncertain of her own place in this world. Several trips were made to Bajor, but neither she nor her parents were well received, so they remained short save for a year long stint when her father was stationed on the planet per orders of Starfleet - her final year of schooling before she entered the academy. Most of the time, the holodeck was utilised as a tool to teach her about Bajor - and even some about Cardassia, though not to the same extent. It was not uncommon to find her there for other pursuits, particularly finding programmes that allowed her to feel like she was double, to get her energy out not only by running, but climbing and exploring. Peri’s love of learning was instilled early in her by her father, a scientist himself. Since Sylar was an officer in Starfleet, Peri and her mother went where he was stationed, which allowed her the exposure to all sorts of opportunities. It was the stars themselves that most interested Peri, what they were made of, how they functioned, and the theories inspired her to ponder what the answers might be. In 2392, at the age of 18, Peri entered Starfleet Academy on the SB118 campus, along with her closest friend Ayna, where she majored in Astrophysics with a minor in interstellar anomalies. In March of 2396, a tragic training accident took the lives of several cadets, including Ayna, marking a dark year for her. She graduated in June of 2396, served on her cadet cruise, and was assigned to her first ship, The USS Thor, in 2397. Connections Family Friends Alieth, Lieutenant JG The first person Peri met from the Thor, Alieth has been a stoic yet encouraging presence. She quickly came to consider the tiny Vulcan a good friend. Wes Greaves, First Lieutenant A marine who literally ran into Peri, he's ingratiated himself with his quick grin and amicable disposition. Over the course of time, her feelings began to change and she found herself look at Wes as more than just a friend. Jehe Saja, Ensign When Saja arrived on the Thor, their first encounter was in a JOPA meeting. After Alieth was promoted to a Lieutenant which allowed her private quarters, Saja was assigned as her new roommate. She looks uncannily a lot like her deceased best friend, Ayna.
