Background

Corey grew up on Earth in London, England. He was the son of a Starfleet Cheif Engineer (Retired) and an Astrophysics lecturer. During his upbringing he stayed mainly with his mother Jessica. However Corey regularly visited his father when his ship the USS Nightingale a medical vessel visited. Corey became obsessed with space travel however had a strong desire not to follow in his fathers footseteps to join Starfleet.

Once at a legal age Corey left home to study Medicine at John Hopkins University and graduated within the top 5% of his class. However his lecturers had noted that this would have been much higher if Corey had focused more during his training. During his early medical career Corey worked as a freelance medic moving between transporters and stations using his skills to facillitate his own travel. During his travel he developed a disdain for authority.

However whilst on a cargo run to Cromedia, the local population were suffering an outbreak of Thorillian Fever. Wethern requested the captain to delay the next pick up so they could provide aid. After an altercation resulting in a Ferengi's bruised lobes and some reappropriated medical supplies he remained on Cromedia until a Starfleet Medical Crisis Response team arrived and begun inoculation.

Following the incident on Cromedia, Wethern signed up to Starfleet with the aspiration of becoming a ships Chief Medical Officer to prevent an incident like that again. However Wethern in general doesn't like talking about his past.

Wethern is from a Starfleet family. His father is a Chief Engineer on the Nova Class starship USS Noble. His mother lectures on Astrophysics. However Wethern was always noted as a rebel and pursued his own path. However Corey speaks to his parents regularly. Following a recent second place success at the Denali Invitational Corey has developed an interest in shuttle maintenance and improving his piloting skills.

During his time at the Academy his structures had noted Corey as "strong willed" however noted his compassion as a clinician. Wethern has commenced serving as a Medical Officer on the prestigious Starbase 118.
