- Relationship: Romantically Involved / Engaged
- Nickname(s): Nate, Lover Boy
- Chief of Operations, Amity Outpost
As with many great relationships, Robin and Nathan first connected over coffee and legacy computer operating systems. Working together on the "franken-shuttle" Targhee project, the attraction between the two was immediate and it didn't take long before they tried their luck on a date - however, they quickly determined that their relationship goals were incompatible. Over the following year, the two of them agreed to cool things down and and remain friends. During that time of immense struggle, Robin found Nathan to be an honest, reliable, and genuine friend - and the two of them would come to each others' aid repeatedly, both during missions and throughout their personal lives.
Try as they might, though, both found it a struggle to remain truly platonic - though they were able to build stable foundation of mutual understanding and deep respect while their feelings for each other continued to develop in repression. Following a desperate kiss during a particularly harrowing experience in the Mirror Universe, Robin and Nathan talked things over and decided try exploring their mutual romantic interest again. While at first they tried to keep their developing "situationship" a secret, the attempt was shortlived and they began openly dating shortly thereafter.
In 2401, following the harrowing events of Frontier Day, Robin and Nathan spent some time on Earth - specifically in rural Minnesota, staying with her grandparents. There, while still grappling with the consequences of the disaster and an uncertain future, the pair decided to take a most unexpected plunge into marriage. They are now engaged, with plans to marry aboard Amity Outpost in 2402.She shut her eyes and took a deep breath, and in that breath, she found herself transported back to the first big turning point in their relationship. She opened her eyes.
Hopper: You remember, on our first date, you told me… You told me you could see yourself falling in love with me?
Nathan chuckled. He definitely remembered that. A moment he both regretted and was thankful for. That moment might have closed some doors at the time, but the door that led to them becoming friends and growing closer had flung open. Who knew that it would eventually lead right back to that original door.
Richards: Yeah. I remember.
Hopper: Do you… Do you still think you could fall in love with me?
Nathan gazed into her eyes, drinking in the deep blue and almost getting lost. Did he think he could still fall in love with her? There was only one true answer to that question that he honestly hadn't even truly been honest with himself about until that moment…
Richards: I never stopped..
Wil Ukinix
- Character Page
- Relationship: Close Friends & Colleagues
- First Officer, Amity Outpost
Robin and Wil first met and served together during a tense mission to Idrustix. A bit confused about the fact that there were two Wil Ukinix's aboard (thanks to a transporter malfunction) when she came to Amity, Robin nonetheless has subsequently found the man to be a solid and personable leader. In the months that followed, Robin and Wil worked well together, as they share many common traits: a preference for informality, desire to work hard, strong inclination towards ethics and justice, and a love of 'classic' Earth music.
Their professional relationship faced its first serious test when Wil asked Robin to serve as his First Officer aboard the USS Jemison during a diplomatic War Games exercise with the Hirogen tribes (Worthy Prey (Amity)) and their success in that mission solidified their dynamic. Since her promotion to Second Officer, Robin has worked more closely with Wil, and the two have developed a tight bond - even if Robin is, at times, amused by his 'silly' accent and perturbed by his typical 'male behaviour'.
When word that the newly-minted USS Cambridge was seeking a First Officer, Ukinix put in a recommendation for Hopper to get the job. While she was honoured by his recommendation, Robin would eventually decline, opting to stay on Amity - an unusual decision for the typically-flighty Hopper. It was a difficult decision, but the strong ties she had aboard the station moved her to stay. This would prove to be a good decision, as the Cambridge was subsequently destroyed during the Frontier Day mission. Wil has indicated that, should he one day have a Command of his own, that Hopper would be among his top picks to serve as his First Officer.Ikaia Wong
