Background
Sival was born in the peaceful city Rh'lar. Choosing a Vulcan way of life, Sival credits his mother for helping him find a balance between mental discipline and his emotional state. He was inspired by his father, who was a doctor, to pursue the practice of medicine. He believes he owes his empathy for and desire to help others to his being half-human, as well as to observing his father practice family medicine. After having received his medical degree in comparative physiology on Earth, Sival studied psychology on Betazed for two years. Sival practiced medicine for many years, but, believing he could do more, he felt his background was suited for service in Starfleet. Sival thus applied to Starfleet academy.
