	Background

Lafayette "Lafe" Charles Vernon was born in a small town in Kentucky on Earth. He is the youngest of four brothers and is very close with his family. All his brothers joined Starfleet in the hopes of serving on the same ship together, but that was not meant to be. After leaving Starfleet initially, and a failed marriage, Lafe decided to rejoin and go through officer training.

Their plant life has begun to get sick and die off, without external changes. What is happening in the colony and can it be stopped before food supplies run low and livestock suffers?
