This is the capital city for the Aries people and is located on their homeworld of Aries III. It is a large, well laid-out city of about 3 billion. Almost 60% of all their major manufacturing facilities are located in or around the city. It also houses their government buildings and the Aries University that can handle over 50 million students. In fact the University is truly a small city in its own right.

The streets are wide and all have trees and flowers planted along them. All the production facilities have been designed in such a way that their is very little pollution produced. Even with all the production facilities, it is hard to believe that so much industrial and technological work could be going on in this city. Great care was taken when it was designed and constructed so as to prevent any crowding while leaving as much natural green space as possible.

Statues of Mystery

In the center of the city, in the center of the large park that surround them are the 5 ancient statues of mystery. Surrounding the statues is a 4 foot wall of green shrubs that are carefully looked after and tended. Inside this area the grass grows wild, weeds run rampant and some vines may attempt to climb the smaller statues. As tradition requires the gardener never enters this area. However nowdays with the use of some of the new technology the gardener is able to keep it under control with out haveing to enter.

The main central statue is a 50 foot tall humanoid with a tall cylinder like hat that comes down to cover part of his face with eye holes in it. He wears clothes that includes a loin cloth hanging down to his knees. Only the lower part of his face and his hands are exposed.

The other 4 humanoids are also males. One is surrounded by flames, another by waves of water. Another is standing on a huge boulder and the last one seems to be floating in mid air.

These statues were a central part of their earliest legends and religious beliefs. In time the religion was replaced with the newer belief in the Book of Life. The legends have also been mostly replaced with newer myths that have to deal more with agriculture and community life.

What makes these statues so unusual is they are of an unknown humanoid species. Also that with the advances they have made in technology they have been able to date the statues. They are over 50,000 years old and made of some unknown material that has lasted through the ages in as perfect a condition as the day they were made.

For the most part the Aries people leave the statues alone out of respect. Few have ever touched them as the old legends warn against it. To do so is to die. While this seems to be a silly superstition the people still take care to make sure the statues are left alone.
