Backstory/Timeline

Mercil graduated Starfleet Academy in the top half of her class. Originally she worked in the Operations department on Starbase 118 but after almost a year there she decided she wanted a little more excitement and experience. Accepting a secondment to the Tactical department on the USS Eagle she spent several months dealing with the ship's phaser maintenance before Sinda Essen recognised her aptitude for multitasking and had Mercil reassigned as a bridge officer, first on the USS Eagle and then on the USS Drake, USS Gemini, USS Apollo and USS Constitution.
