Featured articles are considered to be some of the best articles 118Wiki has to offer, as determined by our editors. They are used as examples for writing other articles. The system of nomination and support is loosely based upon Wikipedia Featured Articles.

The content of a featured article should be of a standard where it can be held up as an example for people trying to develop other articles of a similar theme. They should be:

Well-written, comprehensive and accurate.
Have images and other media where they are appropriate to the subject, with succinct captions.
Include links to other articles where appropriate.
Be of appropriate length, staying focused on the main topic without going into unnecessary detail.

You are permitted to nominate articles you have written yourself, but you need the support of at least two other wiki editors before 118Wiki:Operations members can promote the article. When the article is promoted discussion will be moved to [[Talk:[Article name]/FA Discussion]].

Writing Improvement Squadron

Support This page gives a number of resources for people who wish to improve their writing. I even refer to this page from time to time as a refresher and think it's helpful even after ten years in this group! Alora DeVeau (talk) 18:32, 9 July 2024 (EDT)

Comment: It's a good page, in that it links to a lot of other, very useful pages... But I'm not sure that as a page itself, it's really worthy of being promoted as a Featured Article? I'd like to have more discussion on this at least. Gnai (talk) 17:17, 10 July 2024 (UTC)

Oppose: As the others have already said, this is a good and important page, but it's not a particularly good article; it's not an article to begin with, but rather an index of articles. The featured articles are judged by specific criteria, and those criteria just aren't applicable to this page. It should be spammed everywhere so even the most wiki adverse cadets can find it, but I don't think it should be promoted to an FA. --Jovenan (talk) 20:57, 12 July 2024 (UTC)

Robin Hopper
