In another break with tradition, Dr. Walker has an extremely unusual habit for a physician. He collects weapons. While this practice is somewhat frowned upon by Starfleet, Dr. Walker holds the largest collection of museum quality exotic weapons known in the quadrant. While his tastes tend to the primitive, he does own several rare energy weapons. He prides himself on the fact that his entire collection is in working order.

Thaddeus Walker is the son of the famed surgeon Doctor Eustace Walker. With their family heritage rooted deep in the historic past of England, on Earth, it is no wonder that Thaddeus' accent is so heavy. Standing at roughly 188 cm tall and weighing about 93 kg, Thaddeus has a receding hairline and thick moustache. His nose is slightly pointed, and he often makes others feel as if he is looking down it at them. Not quite absentminded, he does tend to verbally go off on tangents a remarkable amount of the time.

Apart from his weapons collection, Dr. Walker likes to listen to Klingon Opera and, regretfully to his patients, sing along. He also likes to keep an authentic 800 year-old rapier in his office, whose condition is still as good as the day it was made. Often, when he's not busy, he'll prance around Sickbay pretending he's a swashbuckler. Colleagues have aptly describe Dr. Walker as eccentric...to the extreme.

Starfleet Medical has a long tradition of producing sympathetic, caring surgeons with excellent bedside manners. Dr. Walker apparently cares little for tradition. While a physician of exceptional skill, Dr. Walker exhibits a total lack of tact. His most firmly held belief is that if everyone were as direct as he the universe would be a much better place. This view has resulted in several personal disasters, including two failed marriages and a near court martial. It appears that with advancing years the doctor has become somewhat more moderate in expressing his views but occasionally something wildly offensive still slips out.

Dr. Walker has become something of a legend at Starfleet Academy, with his past lectures attracting thousands of spectators all hoping to catch the doctor blurt out something totally inappropriate. Despite this the doctor has developed several breakthrough medical techniques, many of which are widely lauded as the most advanced medicine in the Federation.
