Personal History

Born to farmers on Antosia, Mindysta and Teem Faranster. She has an older brother, 5 years her senior, and a younger brother 3 years younger. Their farm house is on a nice acreage of land, allowing for the stars to really show in the night sky.

One of her Uncles, Dajax, is stationed on board one of the Antosia cruisers, and when he came home, would tell wondrous stories of traveling through the stars. It was these stories that fascinated Sundassa, and had her dreaming of traveling among the stars herself.

Her older brother wanted to join the Antosian military, he specialized in the sciences of it all, hoping to come back and apply any applicable learnings towards their farm. Once Sundassa was aware of Star Fleet, that's where her heart was, she wanted to travel the galaxy, meeting other species, and exploring other planets. Her younger brother decided to stay with their parents and help take care of the farm.

Her mother is the best cook she knew of in most of Antosia. Her mother sent her care packages whenever she could. She thought Sundassa's main source of sustenance was going to be replicator food, and that usually left a little more to be desired in flavor.

Before Sundassa joined the Star Fleet Academy, she went to medical school, she wanted to be useful in her skill set at the Academy. She knew she wasn't big on fighting, that was more her brother's comfort zone, if anyone could be said to be comfortable with it. She tried to focus on more peaceful situations and helping people.

While at the Academy, she was among a diverse group, so her hair and eye color didn't stand out in a way that was unpleasant for her. But she was considered a food snob, and wasn't frequently invited to go out, especially if the main source of food or drink was going to be the replicator. Because of this, she spent a lot of time on her studies, and learning to eat the replicator food without making faces, and naturally cooked foods taste richer and more flavorful, like a treat.

She trained further in medicine in the Academy, but opted to continue education in the alternate field of Communications and Operations, after a simulation in her Diplomacy class. She was curious how different situations would have panned out, and when she mentioned this to a fellow classmate in her Life Support Systems class, he informed her of his major and how it got down to the basics of running a ship and knowledge of how to handle different situations, she was further intrigued by the fact that it would allow her to get a less clinical, more familiar knowledge of her fellow crew members if she pursued this type of job. After the training, she felt more comfortable with her medical training, but least knew she was capable of starting a communications and operations career.
