Background
Rumor swirls around Imogen Lacy. Her history before she joined the Academy is fairly well-established. She grew up on Earth, the daughter of a well-off family of artisans. From an early age, she and her twin brother, Gerald, showed great academic promise. Ginny, as she was nicknamed, was often described as a “prodigy,” and it was no surprise when she enrolled in Starfleet Academy. At the Academy, her record was nearly spotless. Her academics were within the top fraction of a percent of her graduating class, and the only disciplinary incidents on her record were of a peripheral nature, tied to her brother’s more spotty C.V. She entered the Command School after six months, and quickly formed a clique of students (including her brother) who would come to be known informally as “Gamma Wing.”
As the shining star of Gamma Wing, Lacy secured a patron within Starfleet Command in the form of Captain Allura Daniels. Between Daniels’s connections and Lacy’s ingenuity, the pair were able to implement a field test of Lacy’s Academy thesis. Details outside of the project, codenamed “Libris,” were scant, but when only three individuals from the project returned to Starfleet, one of them severely traumatized, speculation from her fellow cadets ran rampant. The most prominent theories ranged from a botched black ops infiltration of the Romulan government to a mutiny and theft of an advanced Starfleet prototype, with the remaining crew believed to have gone rogue as pirates in the Alpha Isles. The three survivors, including Ginny, were and remain tight-lipped.
Upon return to Starfleet Academy, Ginny Lacy resumed her studies and completed an extra semester’s worth of credits before graduating. Despite her scores and aptitude ratings from her Academy instructors, she graduated without honors and without the privilege of requesting an assignment. She would be like everyone else. Shortly after graduation, she returned to the Alpha Isles to serve aboard the USS Arrow as its junior Engineering Officer, where she currently serves under strict conditions imposed by Captain Randal Shayne.
