	Background

Freck was born to Tarik and Morra in 2374 on the Ferengi colony of Irtok. One year later, during the social reforms taking place on Ferenginar and in Ferengi society as a whole, Morra became one of the first Ferengi women to divorce her husband, doing so with Tarik. Devastated and in financial straits, Tarik leaned on his brother, Rutano, for support, and the two of them pooled their resources together to purchase a Ferengi runabout for their new business enterprise: charting and selling star charts.

Tarik and Rutano took Freck with them on the shuttle, raising him as they toured the stars, as well as giving him a first-hand look at how his people did business. As he grew older, however, potential customers weren't as charmed by his cute appearance, and he had to rely more on the same tactics as his father and uncle. It helped that Freck grew more interested in the actual stars and astronomical phenomena they were scanning and mapping more than interfacing with strangers, but he still felt stifled by his family's expectations for him, and so, after a couple of years passed since he became an adult, Freck reached out to one of the Starfleet captains they had regular encounters with, requesting a sponsorship to the Academy as more and more Ferengi were doing in the decades since the Dominion War.

Freck was worried when he'd told his family what he'd done, but was surprised when Tarik and Rutano both were more than supportive of his bid to join Starfleet, helping him with every step of the process, from studying for the entrance exams to dropping him off at the Academy itself with tearful farewells.

	Relationships

• Lieutenant Commander Tomas Falt

      Commander Falt is a bit of a curious entity, in that he's the ex-Chief Science Officer, now-Executive Officer, but without a replacement CSO, Commander Falt is still Freck's direct reporting officer. Still, the time hasn't stopped him from being a valuable mentor in his short time at the station thus far, to which Freck is incredibly grateful. It's clear that the new XO is adjusting to his new role, but Freck is happy to help however he can to make the transition as smooth as possible.

• Lieutenant Commander Dekas

      Freck would be thoroughly embarrased to admit, but Dekas - the Aurellian Chief Engineer of Denali Station - has captivated him, in a word. His bright, vibrant plumage, his equally vibrant personality, his beautiful singing, everything about him has Freck wanting to get to know him better. Naturally, that leads into an anxiety about coming on too strong or making any number of social faux pas that end up scaring him off, but he hopes, with time, to prove that fear to be entirely unfounded.

• Fleet Captain Aria Oddas

      A strong Bajoran woman with something of an intimidating presence, Freck is frankly in awe of her brilliant mind. He doesn't illusion himself with the notion that he'd be able to foster a personal relationship with Captain Oddas the way he might try with other senior staff, but in the short time he's interacted with her, Freck believes the station is in more than capable hands.

• Lieutenant JG Ashley Yael

      An unfortunate incident with LTJG Yael means that Freck does his best to avoid the station's counselor out of shame. He'll have to confront him when the time comes for his mandated check-up, but anything he can do to prolong that meeting, the better, as far as Freck is concerned. Shame, though, the Denobulan's eyes are certainly a striking violet.

• Lieutenant JG Kettick

      He really shouldn't be fascinated by someone just because they're an exotic species, but insectoids are one of the more interesting kinds of species to Freck, so of course he's going to naturally gravitate to him. At least, that's what Freck tries to tell himself. He's only actually spoken to him once so far, but Lieutenant Kettick's sense of humor was exactly the kind of humor Freck enjoys (although he definitely seems to be in the majority opinion on that front).

• Lieutenant Commander T'Lea

      A woman as steeped in mystery as the archeological digs she oversees...Freck would assume. It's difficult to get a read on someone who goes from aloof to excitable the way Freck has seen her get. Still, her intellect has been display multiple times even in the short time he's worked with her.

• Lieutenant Commander John Kendrick

      Freck is drawn to the confidence Lt Cmdr Kendrick carries. He doesn't really know anything about the man, but he knows he cares deeply about his fellow crewmates and knows what he's talking about. Absolutely someone Freck wouldn't mind getting to know better as they serve together.

	Mission Log

• Shore Leave 01 - 239911 - Freck arrives on Denali Station and gets settled in, meeting crew and assisting in a routine survey mission which gets interrupted by a pirate attack.
• Annihilation Approaches - 240001 - During another attempt at a routine survey mission, the pirates launch a deadly asteroid barrage. Freck works on the USS Eagle to deflect and defuse the different asteroids, to different degrees of success.
