Short Biography
After a traditional English upbringing of toast and jam for breakfast and a boarding school education, Ethan developed an interest for all things tinkerable. He was often found wandering the halls of his school looking for leftr objects like tricorders and holonovel diskettes to take apart and rework. It was often noted that he could take something apart and forget how to put it together again, leaving a few very disgruntled Professors in his wake.
Ethan joined Starfleet at the age of 18 and has continued to study the developments in Engineering Science since. He has worked on many vessels as well as buildings, a nod to his earlier career decision to be an architect. Studying buildings, he has a fascination for the very Gothic in architecture and design from early periods of Earth history.
His first tour of duty was the USS Independence, underneath Fleet Captain Anassasi, more directly under Captain Idril Mar, his Chief of Engineering. Spending a year on board learning what he could, he transfered back to the Utopia Planitia Fleetyards on Mars to conduct experimental research. His love for creating and inventing led to him working on the projects such as different warp coil composites and classified schematics of M/ARA chambers. He signed up for his tour when he heard Captain Mar had been granted her own command.
Presently, he has a budding romance with fellow Officer and ship's Counsellor Karynn Ehlanii. He has regular poker nights with friends Danny Wilde and Ben Walker, has to put up with the dissapearance of Jackford Kolk on a regular basis and refers to Jhen Thelev as a good friend. While feeling somewhat distant from his old and new boss Idril Mar, Ethan knows that if he does have any kind of problem he can bother her until the end of days and finds her signiture signing off a few odd jobs around Engineering from time to time when she gets bored.
Personality
On first impressions, Ethan is friendly and welcoming. Topped off with a good sense of humor, gives the man an outgoing nature, although his jokes can be sometimes quite awful. He shows that he is quietly intelligent but gets excited when he knows a lot about something that others don't, which is hardly ever the case.
He can be a stubborn git from time to time but as his collegues will happily tell, it's just a menner of knowing what to say and when to say it. While mornings are never a good time to ask him to do anything, he is a 'by-the-book' kind of soul.
With his tongue in cheek humour, Ethan tries to be a nice, charming guy and regularly falls foul to it. He has become more non-committal and docile, accepting whatever comes. When he is nervous, he has a tendency to rub his left shoulder or hold it with his right hand. When presented with a task, he hums, sings or whistles as he concentrates; a trait he claims to have picked up from his Grandfather.
He seems to accept life the way it is and lives each day as it comes forward, preferring not to dwell on the past for too long. He is hardly seen without a smile on his face.
Hobbies and Pastimes
- Springball - Ethan is technically not a sport head in the least. In his younger years, he was most likely to be found with his hand melded together with some part of a machine during a wild experiment then on the playing fields. However, he found a true passion in playing Springball and likes to when he gets the chance.
- Tinkering - A no brainer for an Engineer.
- Holoprogram Design - During his first years at the Academy, Ethan got involved with a few Cadets who liked to program holonovels. Like a book club, they would create a holonovel and shared their experiance and program with the others members of their club. It was interesting for the young Ethan and gave him a huge insight into other's tastes in programs. Since then, he has persued this and believes that if he hadn't been an Engineer, he would've taken up programming professionaly.

Mother: Gillian Clarice Brice
- Gillian is one of those mother's that was proud of Ethan for his choices in life. No matter which way his career decisions had taken him, she found a way to disapprove in an approving manner. Needless to say, Gillian will always be a tower of support for the young Engineer as he moves through his career.
- She works for a local school near Eton and still enjoys teaching.
Father: Anderson Arthur Brice
- Anderson is another story entirely. His own experiances with Starfleet have left him slightly bitter towards their work in the Ithassa Sector. He worked teaching Applied Science to First Year Cadets but resumed his original posting in Tactical for Wolf 359. Anderson decided afterward never to step foot on a vessel again and resides in Eton, England with his wife.
- He is the Headmaster of Eton College, which has since been revamped into a prestigious Academy for the education of pupils from 1-18.
Brother: Joshua Anderson Brice
- Joshua is currently studing Science at Starfleet Academy. He has been interested in off-world microbiology and biogeography. At present, Joshua has no intentions of taking a tour of duty and would prefer to be stationed on a base somewhere studying nearby life, although the decision could change.
