History
Born and raised on Earth in California. His grandfather was a Starfleet officer and used to tell Sam stories about his travel, one of the things that appealed to Sam the most, was the sense of camaraderie that Starfleet offered. During his senior year of high school he decided he wanted to see the galaxy as well. As soon as he graduated high school he applied for the Academy but failed the entrance exam the first time, but a year later he retook the exam and passed. He attended the Academy for the command track and also took the infamous Kobayashi Maru scenario. His hope for his career is to make at least first officer, but has higher hopes as well. After graduating the academy, he was assigned to the prometheus class USS Tiger-A, under the command of fleet captain Riley.
