She was always considered one of the 'popular crowd' growing up, with her friendly and bubbly personality. Her parents passed when she was fairly young, leaving her with the responsibility of watching over the National Park. One day while doing work and chores around her home near the entrance to the park, a fire started that nearly took her life and destroyed everything left to her by her parents, were it not for one brave fire fighter. |

Personal History
Sam was born and raised in Bigfork Montana alongside 3 brothers and one sister.(Her sister Alexis unfortunately perished at the age of 12 after a run in with a bear.) Sam grew up with a love for the outdoors. Which was great considering her family was responsible for Glacier National Park. Sam's heart was never set on taking up the family business with the park, she dreamed of life in the stars and pursued her dreams to obtain her degree in Planetary Science. After gaining her masters at MSU she found herself wondering if Starfleet was really for her. It wasn't until her brother, Nathan came for a visit and brought along his brilliant Chief Science officer girlfriend Robin Hopper, that Sam really wanted to give life in the stars a try. With hopes of joining Nathan and Robin on Amity, Sam decided to come aboard as a Civilian Science Officer to really get a feel for things in Starfleet.

Born and Raised in San Francisco, California, Patrick grew up in a family full of Starfleet Officers. There was of course the pressure for him to go into Starfleet as well, but he didn't envision a life among the stars like the rest of his family. His dream started at a young age, watching old movies about Fire Fighters. After graduating from high school, Patrick set out to find somewhere he could fulfill his dream. His travels landed him in Wyoming, working as a fire fighter for what remained of the Yellowstone National Park. While on a short vacation up into Montana with some of his friends, Patrick saved the life of a young woman whose house caught on fire just inside the Glacier National Park. A woman who he would one day marry. |

The second oldest of the Richards Children, Blake spends most of his free time reading books in his special hiding place within the forest of the National park. After Graduating from high school, Blake attended two years of University to become a Lawyer, but changed his mind, dropping out and returning home to work inside the park full time. |

Hunter is the youngest living Richards Family member. after graduating High School and spending an agreed upon year working in the park with his family, Hunter has joined Starfleet Academy and working towards his future career in Starfleet Medical. |

Close Friends
Robin is easily one of Sam’s biggest role models. Nathan and Robin came to Earth for Blake's wedding, where Sam got to meet Nathey-poo’s Girlfriend. They hit it off quickly and Robin helped nudge Sam towards life in the Delta Quadrant. Upon Sam’s arrival, Sam and Robin have already had a great time shopping with their friends and spending time in the SRC working together. |
After meeting Harrison on the bridge on the Indy on her first mission, Sam thought he was cute but didn’t think much of it until they ran into each other on the train. They got to talking and Sam took a chance, asking him on a date. He happily accepted and they spent a wonderful day in the holodeck going on a hike. After Frontier Day things between the two were tense after Sam gave Harrison a Borg beatdown. Things are still awkward as they try to proceed forward. |
Although the two have not spent much time together, Sam does enjoy Esma’s company and thinks she is actually quite funny. Sam plans to get Esma out of her shell more and go on some adventures together. |
