Personal History
Early Life
Kris was born without complications to two seemingly ordinary parents, and she grew up comfortable - no poverty or serious illnesses during her time as a child. From a young age, she showed a proficiency in medical sciences following a series of vehicle accidents which resulted in both of her parents being injured for a time, caring for them to the best of her abilities. This was fed by an insatiable curiosity about the races of the Federation, and while initially, Kris' parents were resistant to her curiosity, even hindering her learning in the field in an effort to protect her, Kris' persistence paid off. In 2392, Kris was accepted to the Starfleet Medical Training Institute in Okinawa, where she would go on to earn her doctorate, placing fourth in her class.
Despite this, Kris' parents were not satisfied, stating that they knew she could do better - that if she was going into Starfleet, they would not stop pushing her until she had a ship of her own.
So, Kris proceeded to enlist in Starfleet Academy in San Francisco in 2396, and she took an elective in Navigation. Armed with the knowledge she had worked so hard for, she set out for her final exam on Starbase 118, to be proctored by Lt. Commander Robin Hopper and Captain Oddas Aria.
Aboard the USS Astraeus
Kris was assigned to the 'USS Astraeus' following her graduation from Starfleet Academy. She was assigned as a medical officer, and served with honor during the events of 'Frontier Day'. Following these events, Kris was awarded several awards and promoted to the rank of Lieutenant Junior Grade on star date 240108.18.
