Is’Kah was born in Mak'ala, Trill, United Federation of Planets, on March 15th, 2365. She is an only child. Her father was a public sector engineer. Her mother was a diplomat liaison on the planet for the first five years of her life before the three transferred to Vulcan. Is’Kah grew up on the world, developing a fascination with Engineering.
Her father nurtured her love of engineering by encouraging her to learn ship schematics and holo design. When she was twelve, she stole a shuttle for a joy ride because she thought she knew everything she needed. She ended up crashing into another shuttle, killing all on board. She was the sole survivor. This has left her with a distaste for being a pilot.
As part of her secondary education, Is'Kah earned her Bachelor of Science with Quantum Engineering and Warp Theory majors at Kurk University, Vulcan. She was hired directly out of University by Shuvinaaljis Warp Technologies Incorporated to work on a fresh attempt at Trans Warp. After an explosion killed most of her team, the program was shut down.
At a loss as to her future, she entered Starfleet Academy. She earned a dual major in Components Engineering and Propulsion Engineering. As a cadet, she finished her training program on Starbase 118 in very early 2401.
