History:
John was born in Tycho City on Luna or The Moon as most of the colonists still referred to it. His father Thomas and his mother Sarah both worked in the city as part of the local government, specifically the departments that liaised with Starfleet Security (Farther) and Engineering (Mother). Growing up so close to earth was a privileged upbringing and John wanted for nothing throughout his childhood. He had the best education outside of earth itself and had a very target driven and focused outlook on life.
John is driven almost to a fault, he has a great desire to show off his talents and to be appreciated for them. He decided early on that advancement through Starfleet would allow him to do so.
This desire does sometimes have the effect of coming across as needy and his social interactions can suffer because of this.
