Lieutentant Drex is currently serving as a Science Officer at Denali Station.

Drex is very curious and has a lot of imagination. The latter often led him to small misunderstandings, especially with his teachers.

He loves to draw, especially landscapes and architectural structures, but he is also fascinated by alien cultures and their history. He loved to listen to his mother’s story about her studies and discoveries.

He is a good swimmer and he is also a good sailor and he loves to fly on the water surface on a fast single-handed skiff.

Since he left Denobula and moved away from his twin sister, you may hear him chatting loudly to himself from time to time.

Childhood

Born in Kalus (Denobula) to Jorx, an oceanographer, and Lora, a xeno-anthropologist, Drex has a twin sister Ayra, born a few minutes before him, with whom he shares a very special bond.

Kalus is a medium-sized coastal city in the Vespian region and Drex spent his childhood playing on the beach with his sister and half-brother Ral and trying out all the water sports available.

He attended the local schools with mixed results, but he always managed to avoid failing any of his classes.

From an early age he showed an interest in the visual arts and more than a once he decorated the walls of his home without permission.

He mainly lived with his mother and although he had a good relationship with his father, who taught him to sail, he has always got on better with his stepfather Dorji. Drex loved to draw and Dorji always encouraged his passion and taught him everything he knew about art and architecture.

Drex has always been fascinated by Ral's charisma. Well aware of this, Ral has often convinced his less daring little brother to join him on his raids. When Drex and Ayra were 10 years old and Ral was 12, the three of them secretly set out to explore the coast in Jorx's small sailboat. They were surprised by bad weather, and only the day after they were found shipwrecked on one of the uninhabited islands. The fear and scolding of his parents did not stifle Ral's adventurous spirit nor his influence on Drex and Ayra.

Throughout their childhood Ayra and Drex were inseparable, so much so that they had a secret language that was theirs alone, though they were able to understand each other perfectly even without the need to speak

Teenage Years

As he grew older, Drex began to increasingly neglect his schoolwork in favour of his passions: sailing and drawing.

In his third year of high school, he got into trouble for painting a mural on the school wall. The work was actually the result of cooperation between Ral, Drex and some mates from their sailing team, but Drex shouldered all the blame. The humiliation of being publicly reprimended by the school board left Drex with a deep discomfort with crowds and being the centre of attention.

To avoid further trouble, he was forced to quit the sailing team and concentrate more on his studies.

A few months later, the influence of his brother, who had moved to another city to study following his mother, disappeared.

The bond with Ayra remained strong,despite their different but complementary interests. During a stay at their maternal grandparents' house, the two found some of their mother's notes from her early research. These old writings gave the boy a sense of his mother's passion for her work.

High school was coming to an end and Drex unexpectedly decided to enter the Denoblan Academy of Sciences. The few months dedicated to study were not enough to pass the entrance exam, so Dorji convinced him to try for the School of Architecture.

Pre-Academy Years

In order to attend architecture school he had to leave his home town and separate from Ayra, who had instead chosen to follow her father's career. The first months of separation were difficult for both of them. Without both of his closest confidants, Drex took some time to find a new balance.

The course of study was congenial to him and after the initial confusion he managed to get back on track and attend lessons profitably.

During these years he met one of his closest friends, Xyr. The young Denobulan was also a water sports enthusiast and it was with him that Drex returned to sailing. During the holidays of their second year, the two organized a sailing camp with the aim of circumnavigating one of the smaller islands in the region.

In 2375 he graduated with excellent marks and a thesis on Architectural and Landscape Cultural Heritage Preservation and Reuse in the region of Vespian.

He immediately began working in Dorji's studio where he was finally reunited with Ral.

For almost a decade he was quite comfortable drawing architectural solutions with his half brother and they even got involved in a big project for the renewal of Kalus council building.

However, every time he went home and listened to his mother talk about the ancient people she was researching, he felt compelled to change.

In 2386 he was again a candidate for the Academy of Science, and this time his application was accepted.

Determined not to make a bad impression with his mother's acquaintances, Drex committed himself to his new studies as he had never done before. He completed his courses on schedule, and in 2390 he eagerly agreed to join an archaeological expedition to an abandoned planet in a sector not too far away. It was the first time he had ever left Denobula.The excitement of the journey to an unknown destination reawakened in him that slight sense of adventure instilled by Ral when they were boys, and at the end of the mission he decided to apply for admission to Starfleet Academy convinced that Starfleet could offer him greater opportunities to further his studies.

Academy Years

In 2396 Drex applied to Starfleet Academy and moved to San Francisco, Sol III. Everything was very new to him: the planet, the humans, all the alien cadets and the military organization of the Academy. It took him several weeks to adjust to the new environment and to get along with the other cadets. For the first time, he had to share a room with someone other than a Denobulan and accept the fact that his lifestyle was not always compatible with people who needed more than four hours of sleep a day.

He ended up sharing the room with a Zaldan, Dag’Har. Cohabitation did not begin under the best auspices. At first, Drex tried to humor the Zaldan as much as possible, but when he realized that things were getting worse and that the requests were becoming more and more of an excuse to start fights, he changed his attitude. He waited until Dag'Har went to class to revolutionize the room, taking back the bed he had originally chosen, switching the lockers and removing everything that belonged to the alien from the common area. Needless to say, the Zaldan's reaction to this change wasn't the friendliest, but Drex responded in kind this time, almost going so far as to puff up his face to underline his point. From that moment the two became friends.

As time passed, Drex began to appreciate the opportunities a planet like Sol III could give him. He joined a group of cadets who were fond of history and, with them, he took several trips to some of the planet's ancient ruins, with Nazca becoming one of his favorite destinations.

He also joined a local sailing club and spent most of his spare time exploring the coasts around the globe.

By the third year of Academy he confirmed his choice to obtain a major in Anthropology & Archaeology and by the end of his cadet career he also managed to achieve a major in History. He graduated on November, 2400 with a cumulative GPA of 3.37 (Full Transcript)

	Missions & Shore Leaves

Shore Leave Stardate 240011.14 – 240101.03 Drex arrives on Denali Station and reports to Lt. Commander Tomas Falt for his new assignement. Under Commander DeVeau's orders they explor the undergrounds of Akycha Stadium and discover a large room with computers and a strange blob. Shore leave continues on DS9 and Bajor, where Drex has the possibility to meet Commodore Oddas during a baseball game, and partecipate to a bowling game with some his crew mates. While on Bajor he calls his sister on Denobula after several weeks of silence. [Sims by Drex]

Dark Side of Lightside Stardate 240101.03 - 240103.18 On the way back from Bajor, USS Eagle must chase a ship that managed to take off from the surface of the Ring without authorization. They reach Lightside Station and they have to deal with the release of a dangerous toxin inside the hospital area. [Sims by Drex]

Shore Leave Stardate 240103.17 – 240104.16 The bet for the bowling game finally pays off: a bring-and-go dinner at Drex's house. New acquaintances and friendships are established. At the end of mission ceremony Drex is unexpectedly rewarded and promoted, before he has to return to Denobula for his sister's wedding. [Sims by Drex]

Dead in the Water & Whispers from the Ruin Stardate 240104.17 - 240105.24 USS Juneau makes a request to Denali station for personnel to assist with a discovery Lieutenant Commander Falt takes a small team to rendezvous with them. The ship is suffering a blackout and the crew is no were to find, but Lieutenant Sanchez, an engineer. [Sims by Drex]

Shore Leave Stardate 240105.28 – 240106.30 After last mission Drex does not feel great. During a medical check-up Dr. Harford finds some alien DNA in his arm and eliminates it. He then has to pay a visit to Ensign Strathmore (again). Fortunately, he finds the time to enjoy an almost relaxing hike with Harford, Forshyte and McGillian. They reach a beautilful lake and discover some strane turtle that look likes rocks both to the eyes and to the tricorder. Sims by Drex

Between the Worlds Stardate 240107.01 - 240108.26 USS Eagle and USS Nulato are hitten by a strange wave. Both crews find themselves in an alternative universe. USS Eagle has to deal with a foe ship, while the away team needs to find a way back to the Eagle as the Nulato went destroyed in a crash near the alternative Denali. [Sims by Drex]

Shore Leave Stardate 240108.27 – present After coming back from the alternative universe, Drex enjoys his free time with Falt, Vahin and Tanner exploring the ocean on the Ayrex. He also pays a visit to Commander DeVeau to discuss his doubts about his knowledge before starting his hibernation period. [Sims by Drex]
