History

William Bowers and Elizabeth Bowers are a British family. When Elizabeth was pregnant with their son James, they left the U.K behind and moved to a small quaint town on the outer edge of Dallas Texas. James was an easily pleased and outgoing child.

He barely had an accent from either place that he was from, however, strangely enough, in certain situations, either his Texan or British accents would come out and flourish like a lion that had just woken up from its long slumber after a long night of hunting.

All through childhood he talked about making a difference, and that he wanted to go to out-of-reach places. His mother and father smiled and told James that he would get that chance one day. Just not today. Ever since that day, James and his mother Elizabeth embraced all things space and Starfleet, the men, and women who bore the Starfleet insignia were all heroes to him, and they loved to see their son smile, so they always encouraged his dreams. They would always take James, Eddie, and Liv to space exhibits, and even went to San Francisco a few times to take a little tour of the academy, that day was one of the best days that had ever happened to the trio.

When James was just ten years old, someone new moved in next door from him. 11-year-old Olivia Jaurez and her mother, father, and little brother Eduardo. James, Olivia, and Eduardo, “Eddie” for short, hit it off immediately and the three became best friends. In fact, it was a running joke between the three that James’ middle name was Edward. The trio all loved the idea of Starfleet, and it became a goal for them. That they would finally make it to the stars.

Olivia, Liv, for short, has had the absolute biggest crush on James since the moment they met. All throughout childhood, she waited and waited for those same replicated feelings from James and they never came. What she didn’t know, however, is that James did like her, a lot.

Not long after James had met Olivia and her family, his mother died in a drowning. During a family day at the beach, while James and his father were away from the shore line, she got caught in a riptide and pulled beneath the waves. Though James noticed and was able to pull her from the sea, it was already too late and she died on the beach.

This made James and his father distraught. This made the trio even closer with one another, as well as William, James’ father. The kids were always spending time with one another, both, Liv, and Eddie, had become a part of the family.

The trio always wanted to be in Starfleet, So out of the memory of James’ mother, they had decided to enlist when they were both of age.

It took a year or so to recover, after that, James had finally declared his feelings to his one true love, Olivia. Right before the trio enlisted, James, William, Liv, and Eddie all visited the grave of James’ mother Elizabeth. It was a nice moment between the four. James and Olivia went to the academy as a couple, while also staying professional. Cadet this, Cadet that.

After the passing of his mother many years ago, things were starting to look up for the young Cadet. He had his father, brotherly love from Eddie who did nothing but support James’ relationship with his sister, and Olivia, who had been the love of his life since the day they had met.

He had hoped while he was in the academy that his father would meet someone new and start recovering as James had previously done.

James calls his father every chance that he can get when he isn’t in class, and he spends as much time with Liv, and her brother Eddie as their busy Cadet schedules would allow.

He was doing this not only for himself but for the memory of his mother Elizabeth, to make her and his father proud.
