Personal History
A willful child, Paylar's most difficult lesson to learn was discipline, but being born into a family that takes great stock in Starfleet careers, she buckled down and learned to do as she was told. She and her brother represent the forth generation of officers on her father's side of the family, and the fifth generation on her mother's side. She chose a career in Security, taking her cue from her father whose is a highly decorated officer, who served in the Dominion War.
Her years at the Academy were spent keeping her nose to the grindstone. She not only wanted to excel for herself, but also, for her parents. Paylar is not one to fall back on her parents' service records. For the most part, she doesn't talk about them to the other cadets as she feels that they would feel she had "pull" and that would taint any accomplishment she achieved on her own volition.
